After getting bids from three companies, I went with Carolina Conditions. They were the lowest cost ($4,500 under my highest bid) and could do it in the most timely manner. The install crew, lead by CJ Van Etten arrived on time and got right to work. I did tell CJ how I wanted a neat appearing installation. Of course during the day I had numerous questions, and each one was answered with easy to understand replies. I was very impressed with their attention to details during the install, while always being aware of my property and plants surrounding the generator site. The whole install team did a great job and as the customer, I was delighted with my install! SC Stimson

I have never reviewed any other company but I feel I must warn people about this company. They did…read morea terrible job at my home in Lexington, S.C. I had to have all the work redone by another company and it cost a lot of money. The county inspectors, Dominion Energy and two master electricians from other companies looked at their work and were shocked at the poor workmanship. They left the outside meter box in an unsafe condition with exposed wires and dangling master on/off switch. They used the wrong wiring and the wrong sized breaker in the inside breaker boxes. They destroyed every surge protector in the house as well as several appliances. They offered to fix some of it, but after seeing the quality of their work, I was not willing to trust them again. They were also way too dismissive of the scope of the problems they had caused; arguing that it wasn't going to require much to fix things. I felt like they focused on the need to avoid costs of repair rather than how to make things right in what was clearly a major screwup by a new employee who was way in over his head on this job. Add to all this, they said they would compensate me for some of the cost of fixing their mess and I never saw a cent. The company may be okay for HVAC work but I sure don't recommend them for electrical work.

If you are looking for HVAC services in the Columbia, SC area, please do yourself a favor and do…read moreyour homework on the HVAC company you are considering using and ALL reviews posted online. Yelp reviews appear to more closely reflect my experience with this bogus company. I'm not sure what is up with the Google reviews but they appear to be 'off'/somehow inflated/or at least merged in from some other area/franchise. It is my understand that mostly all of the Aire Serv companies are out of business. If you need regular maintenance of your HVAC system or are experiencing problems that need attention, you will want to choose a well-respected company that is also a factory-authorized facility to perform any of this expensive and critical work on your property. This business is essentially a very, very small Mom and Pop operation that somewhere down the line bought into a Franchise......hence the nice, clean sanitized website you see for 'Aire Serv of Central SC'. What will actually show up to your property will be completely different. I hired this company to install a brand new, 4 ton, Carrier 454b refrigerant system and this owner and their 1-3 employees (1 full-time and 2 part-time seemingly picked up from the corner) showed up at my home at LEAST 15 times over a 3 month period because the brand new HVAC system (condenser and coil) would not work to cool and condition our home without freezing up the entire refrigerant line from the outside to the inside attic...and the owner/full-time staff member could not figure out the problem before ultimately informing me during a problem visit that they had never installed this type of system before! After the owner began blaming me and my family for wanting to keep our AC system below 72 degrees at anytime; the owner telling me that the new 454b HVAC systems are NOT designed to cool homes 'like the old ones used to'; the owner Googling to troubleshoot why the system he installed is not working correctly; me (the customer) also desperately Googling to help as it is HOT outside day and night and and we are also HOT/stuffy inside day and night; the owner installing all sorts of contraptions on the outside unit, the inside the attic unit, and throughout the attic to prevent freeze-ups but then simultaneously causing the outside unit to 'short cycle' (i.e, turn off/on every 3-5 minutes) for nearly 2 months, I FINALLY hired 2 (two) different local, factory-authorized HVAC companies to come out to review my entire HVAC system as the owner was still telling me everything was fine with the system (except for us wanting to be cool) but something still didn't feel right to me. Verdict a couple of days after the owner's last visit to my home saying everything was just fine with the brand new HVAC system: the brand new HVAC system installed by 'Aire Serv of Central SC' was not properly installed, did not follow the manufacturer's installation instructions, was a hazard to operate, the short-cycling was slowing killing the compressor, and all homemade by Air Serv contraptions added outside were the type of mechanism you would see at 'Walmart or other commercial stores where A/C needs to run year-round in all temps', and the inside modifications made to my attic/home were unnecessary. I had to file complaints with Carrier, my credit card company, and notify the SC Licensing Board...AND pay to have the improperly-installed system completely removed and another Carrier HVAC system properly installed by one of the factory-authorized companies. I also had to deal with this arrogant, untrained, and incompetent owner not wanting to take full responsibility for this epic mess. The 2 HVAC companies that came out were professional, knowledgeable, and completely appalled at the incompetence in the work and the treatment to me, a customer, of essentially blaming the customer for work not properly done. What I have learned and you need to know: Factory Authorized HVAC companies honor their work and they are required to continuously complete training on HVAC trends and equipment including refrigerants. They have the latest and best tools to diagnose problems, to carefully install each step of your HVAC installation correctly, and to measure HVAC system data and they have no problem providing you, the Customer, with a requested Certificate of Insurance for any work they perform on your property AND you should always ask for one. AVOID this company, Aire Serv of Central SC, at all costs! My brand new system came a very high cost (time, money, emotions, and no A/C at the hottest part of the year, etc.) but we have not had one problem since the proper installation by a factory authorized HVAC company who stands behind their work and values their reputation for impeccable work and honest and fair dealings with customers. This was a mess, over a period of months. Please take heed so that you and your family do not suffer as we did!

They do the maintenance on our system. Harry responded quickly and got us a technician to come out the same day and resolved our air conditioning problem. Will highly recommend them for air conditioner/ HVAC solutions. Thank you so much.
