It stinks when your drains clog. Literally. Who do you call when you're in a panic? Take a deep breath (outside your home) and dial this company. The calm receptionist arranged for Chris to get to my house within hours, and he showed up on time! Chris is the kind of guy you want in an emergency. He's fast, thorough and even looked at something unrelated to the drain clog (my broken sink plug) and actually showed me how easy it would be to fix it. The price was reasonable. If God forbid this happens again, I'll call them again. Update: I had to call them again! Arghhh! Chris Campbell arrived in an hour and spent two hours removing roots. My partner said that he's never had such a professional, clean and friendly service guy as Chris. That's quite a compliment. Dustin and Jon just left the house. I called this morning and they wer here within 2hrs. No charge for an "emergency" visit unlike others I called around to. My pump alarm went off last night. With 2 feet of snow still on the ground they came over dug through the snow and dirt to get to the cover. Found that another local company had put in cheap material that failed and caused the alarm. Quickly put the indicator back for a temporary fix and said he would call me in the spring when the snow was gone to do the work right. Awesome Service !! Friendly phone calls. They came when they said they would. Jon & Dustin got to work straight away to clean out our sewer-ejector pump chamber. Within 30 minutes everything was clean and fully operational again. All the while they were working, they were explaining what they were doing and telling us how we could prevent the problem from occurring again. Jon the owner is first and foremost honest, beyond fairly priced, and very knowledgeable - he's not out to gouge people. I've used their services to pump then most recently a title five inspection which as you know can be nerve wracking since there are many services that unfortunately try to take advantage of you by literally failing a system or upselling unnecessary repairs to make a buck. I never felt Jon was out to take advantage of me which is all I ever ask for. I simply can't say enough about this company overall. The weather was not playing very nice for the required conditions to preform the inspection, but regardless, Dustin and his team kept their schedule open for me. My septic pump went out mid-February, 2015. Panic! With four feet of snow I had no idea what to do. I called Dustin at Preventative Septic on a recommendation from a friend. Jon and Dustin both came out and tried to salvage it and save me some money, but it was burned. They came back early next morning with a new pump and got it fixed and running in no time. Last week, an alarm went off that we had never heard before. It was for the pump in our septic system. Someone recommended John at Preventative Septic and he came out right away and checked it out. He found the problem, located the new pump that we needed, and installed it all in a matter of days. He was incredibly easy to work with, explained everything to us, and came back a few days later to make sure that everything was working the way it should be. I was so relieved that we avoided any kind of septic disaster. As a real estate agent, I was also thrilled to hear that he does Title V inspections. Their price is considerably lower than others out there and from my brief conversation with John, the owner, I can tell that he is a man of integrity. He didn't charge to uncover because it was an easy dig and easily accessibly and also recommended pumping 5 years vs every other year. (Note, his recommendations for how often to pump will vary based on different factors). In our home, we only have 2 adults and 2 toddlers. We also have not pumped in the last 3 years, and while others may have taken advantage of this fact, he said the septic tank was working beautifully and still did not to be pumped. He was in and out in 20 minutes, and took very good care of our lawn and flowers. When he was finished, it looked as if it had never been touched. He also noted something needed to be changed that was an easy fix for those that are handy, but unfortunately we are not. Instead of having us bring another plumber out, he offered to return next week to do it himself, just because he knows how. His business is based on honesty and doing right by customers. If you need a Title 5 or septic service, I would highly highly recommend him in a heartbeat. Guys like John are a rare find. read more

This is the second time we have used them and the prompt, friendly and professional service we received the first time was no fluke. On New Year's Eve we found that our septic was backing up into our basement bathroom - yuck! We called and got the answering service who said someone would get right back to us - (where have I heard THAT before?!) True to their word, Chris called back within 10 minutes, listened to our problem and said he would be at our house in an hour and 15 minutes. He lied - he was there in under an hour. Chris determined that we had a clog and not the full tank we were dreading. While he went to the truck to fetch the power drain auger, I rolled out construction paper to preserve our carpeting. No need! Not only did Chris offer to remove his shoes, he wiped down the machine and thoroughly cleaned the wheels despite the paper path. While he worked he patiently and informatively answered all my questions about septic maintenance, drain cleaning etc. He had every opportunity to "up sell" us on a tank pumping and inspection but instead gave us insightful and HONEST advice. What's up with that? So...if you need excellent service from a company that works cleanly and prides itself in their reputation for fast, friendly and fair service -- Preventative Septic and Drain should be the only call you need to make.
