I got my wedding dress at Prevue Bridal about a month ago and had such a great experience here! The associate was so kind and made me feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, I'm horrible with remembering names, but I was there January 10th and my appointment was at 3:30 PM (hope this helps get her a shout out). She made great selections based on the style I wanted and I ended up choosing the 3rd dress I tried on. This was my very first wedding dress appointment and I was suprised to have found the perfect dress so quickly. The prices were also very reasonable compared to other places I was looking into. I drove over an hour in heavy traffic with a friend to shop for a wedding dress and was turned away before even making it through the door. On Tuesday, March 3, I called at 3:27 PM while driving from the UTC area. I saw 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM appointments available, indicating they were fairly open that afternoon, but explained I wasn't comfortable entering my credit card information online because reviews mention a strict 15-minute late charge policy. I told the associate I would try my best to make the 4:30 PM slot, and that if other brides arrived before me they should take priority. I also said that if it looked like I could arrive within the 4:45 PM grace period, I would enter my information while driving. I was communicating proactively because that day a fiery fatal tractor-trailer crash shut down southbound I-805 near I-8 for roughly 12 hours, creating traffic chaos across San Diego. As traffic worsened on the 52 East, my ETA slipped to about 4:48 PM. At 4:25 PM, I called again to explain that I likely wouldn't arrive before 4:45 PM and wanted to avoid being charged the late fee. I asked what options were available. I was simply trying to communicate proactively and avoid being charged for something outside of my control. I was repeatedly told that because I was not already in their appointment system before 4:30 PM, they could not help me at all. I suggested several reasonable options: (1) marking me as arrived so I could finish driving safely, or (2) simply working with the situation, but every suggestion was rejected. They offered to apply the $50 late fee towards a dress, but couldn't answer what would happen if I didn't find my dress there. The conversation continued in circles. At that point I was about 10 minutes away and would have arrived at 4:48 PM, just three minutes past their grace period. Despite calling ahead, communicating honestly, and making every effort to come to their store, they refused to accommodate me. My friend had come with me to help look for a wedding dress, so the situation unfortunately wasted both of our time. We ended the call around 4:40 PM, and I turned around and drove home. Ironically, at 4:45 PM, the store called back with a workaround: if I made an appointment for the next day, they could simply mark me as "arrived" in their system and take me in immediately. This made it clear they had the capacity to help the entire time, but had chosen to rigidly enforce their process instead of welcoming business. When I pointed this out, I was told they have been in business for 40 years, which makes the lack of flexibility and basic customer consideration all the more surprising. Based on this experience, I'm glad I learned how this business operates before even walking through the door. It doesn't inspire confidence in how customers are treated once they've committed, and it's not the kind of experience that would make me feel comfortable trusting them with something as personal as a wedding dress. read more

What a fantastic store for all your special celebratory events. Ive been coming here for a few years now for many events like prom, quinceanera and weddings. Recently we came for prom. There whole set up is nice add your name to the list you get 30 minutes. Up to 8 dresses we of course got more than 8 and needed an additional 30 min. So back on the list we went with our second round. Which was successful and we found the dress. Staff is so friendly and happy to help. Not one bad attitude from anyone. I was so happy the prices are pricey, but you are getting quality dresses. Ill also add when I found my mom of the quinceanera dress a few years back it was a great memory as well. read more

The day after I got engaged, my sister made me an appointment here for an hour before closing. I felt rushed as closing time approached, and I ended up getting a wedding dress I didn't love. They did not even go over if a 2 or 4 is a better size for me, or the varying color options the dress comes in (white vs ivory etc) when there were 3 options. The next morning, I called back and they told me it was too late to return. Literally not even 12 hours later. I feel they just care about getting a sale, and not you liking your dress. When I went to pick up the dress, they took it out of the nice bag it came in and had me try it on. When I went back into the dressing room, the bag was gone. The lady told me it's "20$ for a nice bag" and so they had me leave with the cheapest plastic-wrap "Prevue" labeled bag instead. For paying over 2k, they need to have much better service. I initially had my mind set on a specific style of my dream dress. I had tried this one on with friends, but this time I was with my sister and mom. Everything is beautiful here and the quality is phenomenal. They have every gown option possible for formals. They also have a beautiful and large selection of bridal gowns in a bridal shop across the breezeway from their front door. You will certainly find the dress that you want here. My advice is to shop here early, and layaway your dress about 4-5 months in advance. They will allow you to make payments for the perfect gown for you. At my bridal appointment everything was great.. however the day of pick up im January, I tried my dress. I did not open up the veil from its original seal. Then Salma asked to bring out the vail I said okay, not knowing that they did NOT know how put it back in a nicely manner. Upon checking out and paying for the dress and veil Salma rolled and crumbled my vail as if it was a paper ball . HORRIBLE customer service. Wow I am baffled by the lack of professionalism in this store. I guess that's what you would expect from a place that has their gowns wrapped in cheap tacky plastic. Nothing about this experience feels special. The dresses are also SO LOW QUALITY it made my skin crawl. Yes the prices are cheap but you get what you pay for. Don't go here unless you want horrible customer service that makes you feel like you don't matter, cheap dresses that fit horribly or an experience that feels lackluster. I found the dress! I had searched all over San Diego, literally. I didn't want a tablecloth. Within five minutes I had about 12 dresses. Carissa helped me and was amazing! She brought me two of the dresses in the final three and actually picked the one I chose!!! All of the dresses were well within my price range and basically everything I chose was on super sale. I walked out with a 1500 dollar dress for 400. But the other two top choices were under 200. One of them had FEATHERS!! Helpful and kind. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Prevue if you're buying a wedding dress! Especially if you're not 'standard sized'. I came in earlier this year for a dress appointment with my best friend and my dad. I tried on a few dresses and ended up falling in love with one. As a short curvy bride (currently 5'2, ~230lbs), it's hard to find something you feel absolutely gorgeous in whether it's a wedding dress or not. Not to mention, wedding dress sizes are different than regular sizing, so that adds extra stress for sure. I found my dress, and it zipped up easily. I learned that not only was the 'wedding dress size' I tried on a little big on me, but they had one to order, and I got to be CLIPPED INTO a dress I loved to make it more form-fitting. I felt like a princess, I said yes to the dress and got it ordered in that same size that very day, thinking I would only need it taken in in a few places... Girlies, beware... The red flags were there, but wearing my rose colored-glasses and swimming in excitement, I missed them -- NO ONE THOUGHT TO TAKE MY MEASUREMENTS, and NO ONE thought to mention that the dress I tried on was "stretched out due to other people trying it on" during my appointment. No no, I learned this afterwards... So imagine my intense surprise and disappointment when my dress came in a couple months later and I picked it up to try on at my neighbor's house, only to find out that IT DIDN'T FIT. Not even CLOSE. My neighbor tried with all her might to zip it up and she couldn't! I mean the zipper wouldn't even go past my waist, and there were red marks all over my back from yanking and tugging trying to get the damn dress to zip. And no, I hadn't gained any weight. We emailed the store in desperation and they said to come down so they could "show us how to zip it". We got there and they told us that "it's normal for this to happen because the dress hasn't had a chance to get stretched out like the ones on the floor do" and that "it's normal for it to take 2-3 people to zip up a dress". All the while, they were literally SQUEEZING ME and PUSHING my skin into this dress, and it created literal back pudge spillage into and over the lace in the back of my dress, all while I could barely breathe, and they told me "oh, that's fine! No one's gonna look at that! I mean, we got it zipped right?" Keep in mind there is ZERO CHANCE OF A REFUND here, and NO ONE WOULD ADMIT THAT THEY F--KED UP, NO ONE TOOK ACCOUNTABILITY FOR NOT MEASURING ME, OR WARNING ME ABOUT A "STRETCHED OUT FLOOR MODEL DRESS" AHEAD OF TIME, AND NO ONE TOLD ME TO ORDER A SIZE UP TO BE SAFE??? It's like all they wanted to do was make a sale and get us out of there?? My friends and coworkers who've gotten married all have never heard of such a thing! I took my dress to a popular tailor and the seamstress there was appalled when I told her this story. In order to make my dress fit the way it SHOULD, she has to LET IT OUT about 3 to 4 WHOLE INCHES in the back. She's one of the best tailors in the city and came highly recommended -- my alterations with her are going to end up costing me the original value of my wedding dress, but I am desperate and willing to pay for perfection because I'm SO in love with this dress and it HAS to fit. I had received confirmation that the appt was cancelled days before the appt and they still kept my $50 for a non existent appt. Emailed them asking why, their reasoning is it was needed to hold the appt time open on the weekend. I had asked to cancel many days before the appt. So they keep the money just to keep. This amazing store is located in Grossmont Center in La Mesa, right next to Target. What we didn't know is it has two separate stores that are almost back to back. You can literally walk out one door and into the next! We were able to try on bridesmaid dresses and have a one-on-one assistant right before a bridal party and able to use the platforms! Sooo cool! This place has done a wonderful job adding color swatches to the dress!!! As our Bride made the color choice closes to what her colors are and we were able to choose dresses that were available in that color. The prom side is VERY busy... it is wedding season and prom and quince... BUT thee stores- both sides - are FULLY stocked! Such pretty styles and amazing textures and fabrics. Many staff working which was great! We had to move fitting rooms, and it is first come first served. Bridal fittings are by appointment and you get the entire less busy side of the store! This store definitely has our vote as we each found a dress we loved. Downfall is ordering time is about 3 month out... we are running on a deadline. read more

I was referred to Prevue Bridal by a friend of mine who'd gotten her wedding dress from there nearly 20 years ago. I started dress shopping in May 2024 a year ahead of my wedding. The shop is lovely, airy and bright, and tucked away in a strip mall in La Mesa, and there are tons of dresses of varying styles to choose from. I was helped by three different associates over three different appointments in May, June, and August, and each was very helpful and patient. The ladies helped me try on over 10 dresses at my first appointment and at my second appointment, they helped me pick my final dress. I went over budget for my dress and didn't regret that decision in the end, but they had dresses at several price points in all current styles imaginable. I was told at that appointment in June that the dress would take up to 3-4 months to arrive; it arrived way ahead of schedule in August. At my August appointment where I picked up my dress, I also made an appointment across the way at Prevue Formal to help my mom look for her mother of the bride dress. Though we ultimately did not buy her dress from there, she was able to try on several dresses, and we appreciated their great customer service and overall helpfulness. I would definitely consider Prevue again in the future for formal dress needs. read more

I cancelled online as soon as I could, called and confirmed when the store opened and told everything was fine. Rescheduled for the following weekend and then found out we were charged. I called to try to get the charge reversed, as I did the respectful thing by not getting everyone sick. Told they "cannot" but happy to apply it to a dress. I was so excited to try on dresses and find the perfect one. This was my second stop of the day. My experience at the first place was amazing. Coming to Prevue brought my excitement down to zero. The person who "helped" me didn't ask my size (I ended up telling her) had put a gown in the room that I couldn't get over my hips (an experience that I was dreading being plus sized) and didn't offer to help me get into the gowns. I showed her examples of the dresses that I liked and the options she brought in did not match. I went from the high of the morning to a low, just wanting to leave. I left after trying on 3 dresses and went back to the first location of the day, where I said yes to my dress. Went here yesterday to look at dresses for a friend's wedding. The experience wasn't terrible, but it left a lot to be desired. To speak to the location itself, it was crowded and we were stuffed in with two other groups all looking in the same direction. It makes sense for a business to have more than one appointment at a time, but the brides were stepping around each others dresses, and groups were talking over each other. There was no ambiance that you expect wedding dress shopping. While the location itself was mediocre, it all could have been helped with a good salesperson. Our sales lady grabbed all the dresses on our list, but didn't provide suggestions of any ideas. She also fussed noticeably over the most expensive dress, and made no input on the less expensive dresses. When the dress we liked the most ended up cheaper, instead of giving other similar suggestions, she instead pushed the more expensive dresses that were not as liked. When the bride wanted to try on the one she had liked the most again, she pinned it terribly so it didn't look as good. Might be reading into it but throughout the whole experience we felt rushed, crowded, and overall unsuccessful. Went to a place the next day that showed us what a place really should be like. If you are considering finding your dress here, I recommend finding any other place. read more

Oh but they do have 2 small racks of size 16. Have no clue how that fits into the equation. My daughter is very athletic and in most clothes a 6. We did find a dress that was an 8 but what got me was the girl that was there with her mom that was searching for a size 14. When the salesperson heard her size she said "You need to really look for those" Her daughter looked very sad. I noticed they left pretty abruptly. Even the girl that was a little bigger came out to model her dress next to slip jim twiggy and everyone's focus turned to SJT in her size 00 as all the salesgirls rallied around her to say how great she looked and how the dress fit to her small frame. Just NO! No! And No! Learn some manners and how to act around all sizes. If corporate doesn't send larger samples then at least pay attention to the person you are helping. The whole vibe was off in the store. Oh and to the salesgirl responding to by saying "Really! Most girls are a size 0's and 2's! No! Not everyone is a 0 or 2! Even she looked to be much larger My daughters dress was beautiful but to no help to anyone there. The customer service experience was all bad. Rough evening? Maybe. The staff is super helpful they even put clips on the dress if it's too big to get you shoes if you don't have shoes so you can really see how the dress fits, some of the dresses are of course expensive. They had a lot of things that were marked down and it very reasonable prices. We were assisted by Devin who went out of her way to help our three girls. She was attentive to their style and color preferences and brought them multiple additional dresses to try. We had somewhat of a misunderstanding during the purchase process and I reached out afterward to discuss it with her. I have to say Devin patiently listened to my concerns and went out of her way to help me understand where the miscommunication was, but she also moved mountains to remedy the situation and make it right. My daughter and I were so happy and grateful for the outcome; it was a good lesson on the importance of honesty and communication. Devin should be teaching classes in outstanding customer service and we are grateful for her professionalism. If you choose to purchase your formal dress at Prevue, ask for Devin. Upon arriving to the appt for my sisters wedding dress, the woman had asked for any photos of dresses of interest. Having looked over the "in store dresses", I had chosen about 8 dresses assuming availability and size could be an issue. Of the10 or so shown, she had one. The dresses in store and ready in just about every size were either poofy, sparkly or sequenced, overly lacy, really long trains and/or very low cut in front. The price range starts at $1,200 (I believe) and went all the way up to $10,000. We just wanted a simple, solid dress with flattering lines and a medium neckline in front. She tried to get a few similar to that which we showed but not the same, and even went next door to the prom side to grab some dresses. The dress she did have that we picked out of photos was not even tried on bc the appt was only one hour long and the next appt has arrived ~20 min early for her appt. So that pulled the woman away and gave us even less time. Not sure why the appt could only be set for an hour with all the availability they have, why they couldn't have allowed more time and why she allowed the next appt in and helped her immediately. She had to call over for a woman to bring us waters and was not very attentive with helping my sister get a vail on. She insisted on trying on a strapless dress twice when my sister wanted straps. I had asked if she had any square neck like a couple I showed her, she pulled out a very high neck dress that was too large for my sis so it fit awkwardly and gave us no hope there. We left 3 min after our appt time but the lady was already helping the next customer 23 min ago. We felt very rushed and unwanted during that time. I don't think we'll be making a return appt here, not the dresses we are interested in, especially for the price. The service could've been a little more focused to what we wanted but since it wasn't in store, I guess she did what she could. Also, if the online selection for in store dresses is not available by that much, then the webpage should really be updated. read more
