I should've started my shopping here! From the moment I made my appointment, I had a feeling I was going to love Bridal and Veil but I never imagined how special the experience would be. It was truly unforgettable. I walked in not really knowing what I wanted in a dress. The only thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to feel beautiful. Xochi made that happen and so much more. She brought out dress after dress, taking the time to learn what I loved, what I didn't, and what made me feel the most like myself. With every dress I tried on, she made me feel more confident and excited. She was so kind and accommodating to my family, making everyone feel included, but she also made sure my vision never got lost. I usually don't leave reviews but I feel it's important to share my experience so other brides can make an informed decision before it's too late in the process to make changes. I had a great experience at Bridal and Veil when I first went in to try on dresses. They had a good selection, and the consultant who helped me was really sweet. I ended up buying my dress there and was super happy with it. Unfortunately, things went downhill when it came to alterations and service post purchased. I would honestly recommend staying away from their in-house alterations as it was a very stressful experience. I had around six appointments, and instead of improving, things kept getting worse. I eventually had to take my dress somewhere else to fix everything before it was too late. Throughout the process, there were also some very uncomfortable and unprofessional moments where the owner body shamed me, and told me I had "high standards," even though I paid a lot for both the dress and the alterations. When I asked for a refund for the alterations, they admitted they knew they couldn't get my dress to the standard I wanted and said they should have declined the work from the beginning instead of trying to please me. There were multiple issues with the work itself -- the bustle was done wrong and had to be redone, the hemming was messy with threads fraying, buttons were missing, and by the end there was even a small hole in my dress. Thankfully, I found another seamstress who was able to fix everything for a FRACTION OF THE PRICE. I did end up getting a refund for the alterations, but I'd definitely think twice before using their in-house alteration service. read more

PLEASE do not use this bridal shop! My daughter picked her dress in July 2025 and things were ok until... alterations, fittings and an astronomical extra cost... SIX fittings to be exact, and another $800, which was never discussed nor shared with us up front. Yet STILL the dress did not fit correctly. The seamstress was extremely inexperienced (or just didn't care) and rude; still in training? The worst was when the owners and seamstress started arguing with each other, in front of my daughter who was already crying. And to add another offense, they blamed my daughter for losing weight as to why the dress didn't fit correctly. PLEASE, please consider a different bridal salon! read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this bridal store, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. I purchased my dress 11 months before my wedding, and while the initial process seemed fine, everything went downhill during alterations. Without notifying me, they replaced the original seamstress, the one I had previously consulted with, with a new one. This lack of communication immediately impacted the quality of service. My first alteration appointment was a complete disaster. The dress looked nothing like it should have. I trusted the process and returned for a second fitting, but it was just as bad. During that appointment, the owner's wife was extremely rude, not only to me, but also to the seamstress, especially when I calmly pointed out areas that needed to be fixed. By the third appointment, the owner himself was present. The dress, including the added sleeves, finally looked much better, and I felt some relief. However, the interaction remained uncomfortable. He insisted that I speak only in English while I was privately speaking with my mother, and even told her to "calm down" while she was trying to explain concerns about my dress. This felt inappropriate and unprofessional. Despite having paid for my dress and alterations in full months in advance, I was later told I needed to pay additional fees for the overskirt bustle and sizing, which I accepted. However, I was also asked to pay an extra $150 for sleeve buttons, something that had already been clearly discussed and agreed upon 11 months prior and that I originally did not even want. When I said I would still pay but would mention this experience in my review, the owner became aggressive, accused me of threatening him, and even said he would stop providing service less than two weeks before my wedding. When I requested a refund, around $5,000, he immediately backtracked and denied making that statement. I ultimately received my dress at the fourth fitting, but even on my wedding day, my overskirt came undone twice before the ceremony, despite specifically asking for it to be secured properly. Thankfully, my mom had an emergency kit and was able to fix it, but it added unnecessary stress to an already emotional day. The dress itself was beautiful, thanks to the designer, Pronovias, but the experience with this store was incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and stressful from start to finish. I would not recommend this shop to any bride, even at a discount or for alterations. read more

I had the Best experience dress shopping this week. I've been to 4 other stores both boutique and larger and Bridal and Veil was my favorite. There are sooo many options and the girl I was working with was so knowledgeable, she really "heard" me when I told her my style wants. It's just so pretty and open, I've been following their Instagram page, that's what got me interested in coming In, they showcase so many different styles. The owner came to add a few tips as well. This was a horrible experience at every step of the process. We made a reservation to try on bridesmaid dresses as a group, and they put all of us, including the mother of the bride, in one hot, small dressing room with no dividers or privacy. They told the bride that her dress was in and they brought it out for her to try on, and it was not the dress she ordered, so they had to reorder it. They quickly took our measurements while we were fully clothed, with sweaters on. Then they didn't know which size to order for me, and they retook my measurements and they were wildly different. We did our fitting in October, and the dresses were finally ready in February, just a month before the wedding. They did not contact me to let me know my dress was delayed or that it was ready - another person in the bridal party told me she got a call about her dress, so I picked up mine. I picked up my dress today and it is way too big. I looked at an old dress I had from the same brand, and it was a size 4, whereas the size that Bridal and Veil ordered for me was a size 10. Now I have a month to alter my dress from a size 10 to a size 4. I will never come back here. read more

My sister is getting married next year. While my mom and I were our visiting her in San Diego, my sister wanted to check out wedding dresses. She made an appointment at Bridal & Veil (we later found out she had paid for this appointment which was just bizarre to me as no other salon we had gone to charged a fee to look at dresses). The location is just...sad. It's in a strip mall. A very smelly strip mall. As we took the elevator up to the 2nd floor, I could smell mold. The smell got worse when we got into the salon and they were trying to mask it with very strong flowery air freshener. I immediately began getting a horrible headache. My sister gave the employee what she was looking for. The stylist was super nice. She took a bunch of notes...but did not seem to fully understand them. She brought some pretty dresses, but everytime my sister, mom or myself pointed out things we did not like, the stylist would continue to put my sister in dresses that had those same details. We all ask for a specific color (blush), the stylist would leave to get more dresses and come back with dresses that either had beige or nude linings. We'd ask if those dresses were available in blush, and she'd say no. Then why bring them out? The whole appointment was a total waste of time. They also had my sister use a robe that said "mother of the bride". I know that, that's not a big deal, but to me it was the cherry on top of this disaster of an appointment. read more

Don't come here. The manager will make you feel inferior, like you're meaningless, like you're stupid. She has a HUGE attitude and it's no wonder that this place has such a low rating compared to other bridal stores. When a team member asked me what my budget was and I said "I don't have one", the manager immediately looked down on me and said that I should come back with one, as if she thought that I couldn't afford a dress here. I then very pointedly said, "Money is no issue for me." She refused to help any of her team out when they were all busy and I wonder what she's even doing there on-site because she doesn't seem to do anything but make sassy quips at customers and personal potshots. I guess she doesn't want my business. It's a shame because I had 10k I could've given them. Oh well! read more

I'm in shock still about how poorly our experience was with Bridal and Veil. My bridesmaid dress was ordered through them on 11/16/25 and I had not heard anything as of the end of February 2026. I called/texted and kept getting ghosted. I finally got a response that my dress was in store on 3/6. I decided to get the alterations done there since they are familiar with the designer and was told two inches was going to be taken in on each side. (They ordered two sizes too large for me) when I got the dress back the seamstress had just taken it in at the very top and didn't follow through down the corset of the dress so it's very loose and doesn't sit right. (See orange sample dress photo for reference to see how it should look vs my black dress that wasn't altered right) I decided to just take the dress and get it altered somewhere else as it's been a nightmare to deal with them. Also 179 dollars I paid for these alterations and they didn't do what was stated. This shop is SHADY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Fellow San Diego brides, save yourself the trouble--do NOT go here for your dress. 1. Terrible location: The store is tucked away in a dark, uninviting strip mall with no natural light. To make matters worse, the entrance is right next to a weed shop (I know this because I work out at the Chuze gym next door). 2. Rude and unprofessional management: The manager is combative, egotistical, and completely lacking in customer service skills. Instead of listening and addressing concerns, he spends his time yelling and giving "lessons about consequences." Their behavior comes off as desperate, as if they're more focused on squeezing money out of you than earning your business with respect and good service. 3. Unreasonable fees: They charged me a $45 appointment fee even though I canceled well in advance. Apparently, finding your dress elsewhere is a punishable offense here. Brides should never be penalized for being proactive or finding their dream dress elsewhere. 4. My experience: I booked an appointment on Wednesday, 11/7 but found my dress and called to cancel on Friday, 11/9--well over 65 hours before my appointment scheduled for Monday, 11/11. Despite the ample notice, they charged me the full $45 fee. When I called to request a refund, they refused. After being treated so rudely, there's no way I'll ever give them my business. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company--a first for me in 7 years of having that card. The fact that I felt compelled to do this speaks volumes about how awful this experience was, and I didn't even set foot in the store. Save your time, money, and sanity. Brides deserve better than this! read more
