I got my first pair of contacts here in 1993 & recently returned to the area so I needed to set up an eye doctor here. After my first appointment I had to return a week later for a contact fitting which was scheduled at 4pm and sat in the waiting room until 4:45pm. When I asked the receptionist when I would get back to see the dr (at this point already 30 mins past my appointment time) she responds with "You'll have to talk to Nick about that." After that days appointment I was informed that I needed to return in one month for an additional fitting. So here I am in the waiting room going through the exact same scenario. It's currently 30 mins past my appointment time & they couldn't care less. This place has tanked hard & will never get another cent from me. It's unfortunate this establishment has such disregard for peoples valuable time as they cram appointments in they can't cover in time to pull every penny possible out of people. read more

For 40 years I've been a customer at Price Optical & Nick Bender fitted my contact lens. Today was the LAST day I will ever darken their doorstep again! My appointment was for 9:00am. I never got out of there until 11:15. A simple eye exam & contact lens fitting should NEVER take 2+ hours! I sat for 30 minutes in a room without being seen. 30 minutes! I finally had to go to the reception desk & inform them I'd been waiting 30 minutes. When Nick's daughter finally arrived, I didn't even get an apology. Appalling behavior. Someone needs to manage that place with an iron fist & start cracking the whip because that place is a joke! read more

Had my eyes examined last week and was told they do not accept my insurance. They gave me my prescription without issue. I decided to order online and called them for my pupillary distance. The were so rude and refused to give it to me. I will never go there again for anything and will tell everyone I know how they treat their customers. They are liars and when they said it changes. I have been coming here for several years without issue. I think they have the worst customer service in Williamsport. It was fine for me to have my eyes examined and had to pay It was no big deal until they did this. Think twice before you make an appt. with them read more

I called for an appointment on April 20 for May 1. On April 28, i called to confirm that appointment, and was told they had no record of me at all, they'd have to reschedule me. So, irritated, i set up an appointment for May 3 at 8:30. Showed up at 8:20, only to be told I was more than 15 minutes late and they would reschedule me, as the doctor was booked. I explained my situation to no avail. After rearranging my daily scheduled to make this appointment, I was being inconvenienced yet again. They didn't seem remotely concerned or understanding, and I ended up walking out, to take my business elsewhere. How does this place stay in business, if this is how they treat patients? read more

I am a former patient and customer, and was home visiting my parents a few weekends ago from Chicago, and one of my contacts ripped. Because I had only packed for a few days, I forgot to bring an extra pair of contacts with me. It was a long shot but i knew that my prescription was current, it was just a matter of finding a copy of it, and I called Price to see if it was possible to buy a pair of contacts. I explained the circumstances, and when I went in, they were able to provide me with a pair, literally saving my day, and the rest of my trip... driving back to Chicago with 1 functioning eye would have been less than ideal. This is what true customer service is about, and the type of experience that earns and reinforces customer loyalty. Thank you, again! read more

Even though selection is good for the area, this business needs some serious courses in basic courteousness and people skills. I've had many experiences with the entire staff that has been poor as if my presence there was a hindrance to them, but after talking with many of their other customers I discovered they all shared the same experiences. Save your money find somone else. This business knows nothing about customer service. Sanctimoneous attitudes abound. First off they made my prescription wrong and it's only because I went back because of problems seeing at night, that they figured it out. Every time I have been there they are rude and curt. I purchased insurance on my glasses and when they broke I went to see if I could get them repaired. I was told I would have to pay for new frames. As I was leaving the arrogant man who fixes glasses, yelled at me as I was going out the door that I was due for an exam. So unprofessional!! Staff is unfriendly and unknowledgeable. They don't bother to confirm your benefits, they just guess at it. They insisted they weren't in-network with my insurance, even though they were listed in the participating provider directory, but did they bother to call the insurance? No. They kept telling me I had Davis Vision and I kept telling them, no, I don't, but that didn't matter. I had to call the insurance company when I left their office and confirmed with the representative they are actually in-network through NVA, but they didn't bother to call or help in any way. The interior is modern and clean. They have a good selection of frames and services available. Some of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive... while others were not so much. Overall I had a good experience here, nothing extremely negative. read more
