'Ello chaps! Price's Diner is a restaurant located inside the historic Tivoli amusement park. Their ambiance is a 1950's American diner, with a menu comprised of cheeseburgers, fish and chips, and fried chicken. The fried chicken was delicious; moist and perfectly crispy with a breading that wasn't too heavy. The downside... the pricing. Lunch for two will cost you nearly $100 USD. A "large" Coca Cola will cost approximately $10 USD. Price is a big shock factor in many places in Scandinavia. Overall I give Price's Diner four stars out of five. read more

Stop the Price's Diner bashing, it's not okay. The diner have the potential to be my fall back restaurant in Tivoli. I visit Tivoli regularly especially during the summer season. Often I end up in Tivoli late afternoon or early night, so I have to find a place to eat. Eventhough Tivoli is packed with restaurants, it can be difficult to find a vacancy for dinner around 6 to 8, or you just want classic fast food. I ate here with my girlfriend, and we shared a portion of hush puppies for a starter. They were delicious, sweet and just a bit spicy. We also shared a bottle of rosé wine, it was one of those not to sweet easy to drink types. And price was okay, just below 200 dkr.. Tap water for free. Offcause we wanted burgers. I got the Jucy Lucy, and it was jucy with sauté orions and lovely homemade pickled cucumbers. My girlfriend got the cheese burger, and it was jucy with good fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and lots of the lovely homemade pickled cucumbers again. Maybe one of the buns was I bit to dry, because it crumbled up, if you wanted to eat the burgers with your hands. Yes, fork and knife it not an option, when you eat burgers. We shared a big fries and onion rings. Both fries and onions were homemade and great crispy. As dip we had tartar sauce and bearnaise mayo, and the were both good. My girlfriend is a rocky road fan, so she had a rocky road sundae and I got the salted caramel one. We were totally full and happy, when we left the diner, and it was just a bit more than 700 dkr.. The service is a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday. They did their out most to accommodate your needs. The location in the middle of Tivoli is perfect. Next time I got to try the chicken wings, they looked good. read more

I wanted to love this place, but it ended up being a very 'meh' experience. Overall plus: No issues with timing and only 1 dish on menu not available (fried chicken). Chicken wings were a strange BBQ take on Buffalo wings. Meaty and decent chicken, but no ranch or blue cheese dressing and no celery sticks to balance the chicken. Marinade was more BBQey sweet than classic tangy and spicy Buffalo - not a trace of Frank's here. A shame, since a well done classic can be so excellent. The Philly cheese steak sandwich came in a dry and stale baguette. Meat was a bit tough and the homemade cheese sauce seemed more like something made with mayonnaise. Chilli was decent. Lacking spice, but ok meat flavor and texture. Very dry cornbread as a side. Hush puppies were nice - those and the beers were the stars of the meal, unfortunately. Will most likely not come back. A shame, since Copenhagen needed a place like this. read more

This was a lacklustre experience. I had the Juicy Lucy, which was far from juicy. Its main selling point was that they stuffed the patty with cheese, which supposedly made it juicy. There were hints of cheese in it, but far too little. The burger was straight up dry. Fries were ok, but nothing special. Prices were in the upper end of the range for burgers in Copenhagen. I won't be back - plenty of other, better burger places in Copenhagen. read more

You might consider me a burger connoisseur. Whenever I travel, whether to a tiny town or to a major city domestically or abroad, I always seek out and try the best rated burger in the area. I frequently check out Yelp, or Trip Advisor, or tap into my network of friends and family for recommendations. Today, I tried the bacon cheeseburger at Price's Diner, located inside the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen. (After reading the mixed reviews on this restaurant, I wasn't sure what to expect. But it appears that management must have revamped the menu, as Juicy Lucy does not appear.) I have to say that I was totally blown away by this bacon cheeseburger!! Upon initial presentation, I knew that I was in for a treat. The bun appeared homemade and the top was a nice shade of dark brown and toasted just right. The bacon was thick cut, and cooked perfectly crispy. And the cheese looked tantalizing (I did order extra cheese for this burger since i learned that the Danes typically serve only one slice of cheese on their burgers). It was love at first bite....so, so good! This was no ordinary beef, not sure how they prepared it-- it was so fresh and crumbled nicely with every bite. The french fries were cooked perfectly and had such great texture and flavor. To sum it up, Best Burger in Copenhagen. Best Fries in Copenhagen. Period. And to be honest, this burger was one of the best I've had in years! The service was great too, by the way! Mind blown. read more

After having good experiences at other Price brothers establishments a dining buddy and I decided to try out their diner. We arrived to find a short queue outside, but luckily we didn't have to wait long and once inside the place turned out to be only one third full - the line is there because, unlike most diners, a waiter will guide you to a table. Incidentally, at the first table we were seated at there was quite a draft from a nearby open door so we asked to be relocated. Anyway, on a slow night in a diner with plenty of staff on the floor you'd expect to be served quickly, and sure enough a waiter was there to take our orders before we were done reading through the menu. We ordered our drinks and some hush puppies with barbecue sauce for a starter, and proceeded to read through the menu. Around 20 minutes later, after several attempts to get the attention of other waiters, the one who apparently had our table returned to take our orders. We ordered our food - two cheeseburgers, one of them with added bacon, both as rare as possible, and as sides we ordered fries, onion rings and cornbread and a selection of three different dips. We also had to remind the waiter that we'd already ordered drinks and hush puppies but hadn't seen them yet. A few minutes later our drinks arrived and when we were halfway through our drinks the hush puppies arrived - sans the barbecue sauce which took another few minutes to arrive, and only after we pointed out that it was missing. Another long while later our mains arrived, everything but the dips served in various designs of metal baskets. Now, burgers, like sandwiches, were originally designed to be held onto and eaten with one hand. Some burgers (and some sandwiches) still are - they're the ones that are fairly small, with ingredients besides bun and patty used sparingly and as a consequence they easily stay in one piece when you bite into them. These burgers were of the more modern and larger design with several ingredients in a bun that comes apart more easily not least because of the amount of ingredients. As such, they were unfit for consumption without knife and fork, which in turn makes a basket a rather impractical vessel for serving them. But the choice of vessel strongly signals that they expect you to eat your burger in a way they didn't design it to be eaten so that is how we ate them, and luckily there were plenty of napkins on the table. Now that I've spent an entire paragraph rambling about the (im)practicality of eating large burgers without utensils I should probably write a bit about the food. I liked the hush puppies but have no prior experience so nothing to compare them to. The burgers were of a fairly traditional design - lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, mayo, ketchup and all that jazz. Overall, they were well made and tasty; one of the best sesame buns I've had, good balance between the ingredients, not dry, not soaked in too much dressing, good quality meat. My only gripe is that the patties were fried a perfect medium which was not what we had ordered, but at this point it was more than an hour since we walked in the door and we didn't want to wait even longer so we ate our burgers as they were. The fries were slightly above average except for the one black-throughout specimen my partner bit into, the onion rings were good overall but a bit inconsistent, and my dining partner (either she's good at this or just unlucky) found one which was mostly from the dry, outer layer of an onion. The corn bread was a bit on the dry side for my taste, but again I haven't had cornbread more than once or twice before so I'm definitely not an expert. The dips were okay, although we were in doubt about whether or not the garlic mayo had garlic in it. After finishing the mains we asked to see the menu again as we wanted to try their sundaes. My partner ordered Black Forrest and I Salted Caramel, and somewhat to our surprise our desserts didn't take eternities to arrive, although saying they arrived quickly would be a bit of an exaggeration. The ice cream used in both were of average quality. It worked well with my Salted Caramel while my partners Black Forrest lacked presence or punch, making it a bit boring. Overall, the food was tasty but there were a few too many things to put a finger on. The waiters just didn't seem to be on top of things - there were plenty of them given the number of guests and yet drinks were forgotten and things moved way too slowly. The whole thing took a bit less than two hours and the bill worked out to just shy of 850 kroner. This is too expensive for the experience we had, which is a pity because I like the idea of a Price diner in Tivoli, and I sincerely hope the situation will improve. read more

Food was great. Service was fine - slow but I find that's common in Europe. Didn't have any issues otherwise.
