A lot of natural light and cool furniture!

I discovered Studio N through their Groupon, and when I called to get an appointment they said that if I hadn't purchased it yet they'd honor the Groupon price! I wasn't sure what to expect, but was so happily surprised with the great hair cut I received at such a reasonable price! Andrew did my hair and was great about walking me through all his thoughts and his process to get me the haircut I wanted. He was also great about telling me about my options for color in the future- and I think I'll definitely be back for that! He was easy to chat with and my appointment lasted an hour- super reasonable for a haircut! The studio has such a cool aesthetic, with mirrors hanging from the ceiling, a lot of natural light, and a lot of wood. While I think it looks amazing, the outlets for the stylists are in the mirrors and so when using any tools the mirror swings. I get motion sick pretty easy so that presented a challenge, but I'll admit it presented a great look. The other thing I loved was the hair washing station. The chairs were great because they pretty much have you laying down rather than sitting in a chair with your head thrown back putting all that pressure on your neck. They use fabulous products (LOVE Davines) and everything smells so great. They ask for credit card and contact info when you book, and I've seen in other reviews and understand that that's an issue for some people. I used to work at a small appointment based business here in Albuquerque and we did the same thing. It wasn't to steal info, it's because any booked time that a client don't show up for is money lost for the business. They send you an email detailing cancelation fees and policies after booking your appointment, I'd recommend reading it when you get it! Additionally, they accept walk-ins so if your worried about putting a card down that could be another option. I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Stephanie was awesome and the studio was cool to be in! My hair cut was better than I could have ever imagined! She worked pure magic on my crazy mane I had!

First off, parking is reasonable. Second, if you manage to come early, then you may be able to grab a bite at Flying Star next door or even after to show off your new hair cut or color. Third, this was my first visit here back in June. The studio is located in a plaza. The salon itself has an open concept theme; there are floor to ceiling glass (?) walls on two sides of the salon that capture plenty of natural light (see photos). Lastly, my colorist recently moved from another location (near UNM); I followed her. Her skills with highlights and color are the result of years of experience. She is professional and courteous. She has been my colorist for well over 3 years now and I travel over 2 hours to have her do my hair! So, if you're looking for a new colorist or need a change, seek out Aura.

This place was OK but not stellar. I had the Skinmedica Rejuvenate peel (I won't say with who) but…read moreI did not get the result I was expecting. I had this peel before and did not have a comparable experience. When it comes to treatments, I like to feel that I am getting what I paid for and so if it entails a little discomfort in order to get the results, I'm willing to deal. The esthetician was not familiar with some of the techniques and products my CME in San Fran uses on me but she was young. However, she put the peel on very lightly with a brush (instead of gauze) so I didn't get much stinging or peeling following the procedure. This place has the latest equipment and a really nice spa like office but I am most interested in the treatments so I don't think I will be going back since this peel is pretty pricey for not getting what I paid for.

I went in for an emergency 30 minute facial due to breakouts caused by stress. I walked in and the…read moreatmosphere was way better than I had expected. You're seated in a warm little waiting room while you listen to a fountain and you start the relaxation processes. Dori did my facial, and I was really really happy. She walks you back tucks your hair into a hairband and wraps your little legs in a blanket to keep you comfortable during your treatment. You then get to choose from three scents for your facial and she gets to work. As your final mask sits she gives you probably one of the best head massages you will ever have in your life making you feel happy and peaceful. A tip to all those facial peeps: get the extractions. They hurt like nothing I've ever felt before, but it'll help get rid of your blackheads and pimples. Endure the pain for five minutes. It'll help your skin in the long run!
