Woodward Governor or Woodward Industrial Controls is a company that installs governors into cars so…read morethey do not go over a designated speed. They may manufacture other things but this is what they are best known for. Woodward always had fantastic lawns, flower gardens, water features and the like when you drive by. Definitely one of the best businesses in town to have such beautiful grounds! I am indeed envious! Woodward does not hold back during Christmas time either and if you go to the last entrance heading west on Drake you are in for a free treat of doing a drive through on a small portion of their grounds to view their Christmas display! When you drive through the Christmas diorama you are supposed to turn off your headlights, parking lights are ok. On the brief circled drive when you go through you will see various Christmas props like churches with music coming out of them, carolers, an elf workshop and so on. I have been going here almost on an annual basis when I drive around town once a year to look at Christmas lights. Over the years the scenario has changed very little, same displays and decorations which is ok. It is a winning combination! Probably the most recent change was that they converted all of their lights to LED. So anyone out there who likes to drive around and look at Christmas lights once a year this is a fine stop to make! Woodward also has a location in Loveland as well. I am not too sure if they do a Christmas display there but what I do know is that their grounds are definitely not as beautiful as their Fort Collins location.

Fun fact: I'm obsessed with Nelly…read more So in seeing that he would be singing at the Taste of Fort Collins, I got up early on the morning the tickets went on sale to ensure I could get a few. So at the stroke of 8AM, I secured 4 tickets to go see my man. Fast forward to last weekend, my husband and I had invited my cousin and his wife to spend the weekend with in downtown Fort Collins to explore, eat, drink and see what this little festival had to offer. While Nelly performed like a champ, I have to admit this festival was far less than I expected. In fact, all 4 of us were pretty let down. Here's why - FIRST of all - Townsquare Media - the main PR Firm to promote the event - was inconsistent with their marketing, especially when it came to the times the gates were opening and when the performers would actually start, that it was a onetime entry into the festival and their social media presence was lackluster. In attempts to tag the Taste of Fort Collins Instagram (an account they manage) the page wasn't updated with current 2021 information. In this day and age, I'd expect a Nelly aged audience to seek information via social media, and clearly they did not. By the time we snagged a spot in the grass for the concert, Nelly was a tiny spec in the distance, and I took to the massive screen behind Nelly hoping to see him. But NOPE. The screen behind all performers was dark and showing ads and what others had shared on social media for the festival. It made the entire experience kind of annoying for the people that weren't right up front. End rant. SECOND - I was impressed by the mature trees which provided us with shade throughout Washington Park, but the park is amazingly small. So small that the festival expanded into the surrounding streets to allow for booths to line the entrance for festival goers. THIRD - With the streets blocked off, parking can become a nightmare. We saw multiple cars getting towed the closer we got to the festival. Best bet is to park a few blocks away and walk, or take an uber. FOURTH - Sure there are is a decent selection of food options available, but the layout within the festival walls is absolutely terrible. Boutique vendors greet guests up front, but the food and drink options - which is literally the main reason people come to this festival - is located in the middle. One giant big square, making the lines to each booth awful often connecting with other lines, blocking off space for people to pass through - creating a mass crowd. WTF. After waiting 45 minutes in line for a drink, I didn't even attempt to taste any additional food or drink. FIFTH - Sure the vendors take both cash and credit, but many booths had limited amounts of items and put a max on the amount one could order. Awkward. The service at each booth varied but everyone seemed a bit annoyed with the insane crowd and massively long lines. While I had a great weekend exploring Fort Collins, I don't think I'll return to this tiny festival again. K, thanks bye.

I feel like they over sold the event! Before they had a weather delay there was no one but once…read morethey reopened around 2:00pm it took 45 minutes to get a beer and equally long to get food. Over crowded. It was faster for us to leave the event and go get a bite and some drinks and then re enter.
