The Elders and blurry pictures, sorry
    Marie S.

Classic. In the heart of downtown, plenty of restaurants nearby. My dad used to work here back in the day when it was just a movie theatre. After having been to Loveland so many times, I finally got to see it. We saw the Elders here with my aunt and uncle. Small theatre, but intimate environment and the orchestra box is close enough to the stage to do a little Irish jig. They really put on a good show here! Popcorn and sodas available in the lobby

What a great historic theater! I always enjoy going there for shows. It has that classic feel and gives a sense of being in another time.

It oozes small town American charm and makes one nostalgic for a time when going to see a show was a bit more glamorous.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Fun for special movie outings…read more We came to see Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein" with our friends and it did not disappoint. We've been to the downtown LA one a couple of times and the drill was the same: You start by scanning the QR code and making the initial order, then during the movie you write down your order on the provided pad and pressing the service call button. You have 20 minutes after the movie ends to settle up your bill; after that they will close it out for you with 20% gratuity. We ordered: - Spicy ranch popcorn (spicy! It's a dry powder so I should've gotten some light butter on it to hold the powder to the popcorn--we kept accidentally inhaling it, doh) - Churro crunch popcorn (not too sweet, with slight salty notes that gave it a really nice touch) - Vegan cauliflower bites with celery and fries (the gochujang sauce was a little too sweet and the fries were limp--just meh) - I got a Pilsner, hubby got an IPA The food was just ok but the service and atmosphere were great. The seats weren't THE most comfortable recliners, as they didn't recline quite as much as the AMC chairs we were used to, but they were fine. One of the best things at these theaters is the 15-20 minute montage they show before the movie that's related to the feature--worth getting there early for. Some of the clips they included were really obscure and funny, like the one from the 1960s where Frankenstein goes to college and becomes a party animal, lol.

I agree with everyone here regarding the QR Code ordering! The preshow entertainment is one of the…read morebest things about this place, but you can't even enjoy it because you're on your phone trying to order food. They should at the very least have either an option to still order on paper, or an order a head option so that you can just order everything before you get there. AMC and Harkins even do that... You can say what time you wanna pick it up and then you can just pick it up on your way in. Since there's no human interaction anyway they might as well just let us do that. I also felt bad for the server because I didn't feel like he deserved what I would normally tip on the bill, but it's not his fault and I'm not sure how they're getting paid. It's not really fair to the workers either. So I tipped low on the app and then I felt bad so I gave him an extra money on my way out. The whole thing just really sucks.

I love the Alamo Drafthouse and the QR code situation doesn't bother me too much. The service has…read morebeen very smooth and fast. The screens are great and crisp, sound is excellent, but the seats are horrible here. The seat cushions are way too narrow and you feel yourself sliding forward a bit. They are stiff leather seats and outdated. Also, the seats have a big two inch gap at the bottom which makes it easy to lose things behind the seat. The Westminster location has much better seats that recline. The parking is much harder here compared to Westminster. I usually park in their parking lot behind the theater or on side streets but there's also a validated garage across the street. You have to validate at the front desk before you go into your theater and that gives you 4 free hours. It's also a much sketchier location compared to Westminster, especially at night. I came back to my car to see a homeless couple shooting up drugs on the Alamo staircase behind the theater. Just be aware that's a possibility here if getting out late at night. Food is great especially the BBQ chicken pizza. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are usually great but tonight they served me them in a plate that's too cramped for the soft cookies, and they therefore became deformed and fell apart. When you charge $10 for cookies, at least have them on a plate long enough for all 3 cookies like the Westminster location. I haven't been to the Littleton location in CO, but I see no reason to ever go to this location over the Westminster one unless something is only playing here.

I rarely order food or drinks at a movie, but when I have it's been decent here. The seats are older here and not super comfortable, but I'm willing to deal because they play arthouse movies I can't see anywhere else. Parking was rough- the parking lot is tiny and requires validation I think (there was a sign on the door), but if you drive around there is some street parking that has a 3 hour limit. I prefer the location closer to me (there are so many in Denver!) but don't mind stopping in if they are playing something I have to see.

No A/C, so on a 95 degree day it's about the same inside. Wish this wasn't the only one in the Denver area. Worth driving up to Westminster or down to CO Springs if you're going to be spending a day playing games. This location needs to be renovated in the worst way.

I have been coming to D&B since it opened. I have enjoyed playing the ticket games over the years…read morebut most of the games I have mastered are gone. I have accumulated over 52k in tickets, so probably enough to get a coffee mug and vampire teeth for all 600+ Yelptastic friends. :) My latest game is the Wizard of Oz, which is one of those coin pushing games where it always appears that 50 coins are hanging on for dear life! I have completed a few sets of the cards and have 3 more sets that are missing Dorthy and the Wicked Witch! lol The other games are fun as well: Deal or no Deal, Wheel of Fortune, pop-shot, giant Pac Man. I just remembered a crazy night after an Avalanche win spending like 40k tickets on a 6ft Tweedy Bird and putting it in the backseat of a convertible Saab. Random, I know. I think we left it at Breakfast King, which is gone now. D&B also has good food and a few different areas to catch the big game on medium sized screens to ginormous sized screens. A big bonus is that a movie theater is right next door if you still have energy. I do miss the pool tables from many years ago but if they are not profitable then C'est-la-vie! The only bad part is that the parking is confusing. There's some parking near D&B but if that is full you may need to use the garage. Hopefully, you enjoy it too!

What a fun venue in the basement of Oskar Blues in Downtown Denver!…read more We had been wanting to check out the venue and just happened upon half price tickets for a show on a Friday night. We didn't know the bands, but that has never stopped us before. Black Buzzard is conveniently located on major bus routes into downtown, so we took the bus from the Berkeley neighborhood and walked less than a block to the venue. We were a bit early for doors, so we grabbed a couple of stools at Oskar Blues for a beer before the show. Pro Tip: Although the beverage selection is the same at Oskar Blues & Black Buzzard, you must open separate tabs at each. Black Buzzard has a mix of high top tables and standing space for live music. We had a rather charmed experience. The show was extremely undersold. So, there was plenty of space. And, the band members were super friendly and hung out with us before the show. The bands were fantastic and we had a wonderful time jamming out. Unfortunately, the stage is not very high, so sightlines at a sold out show will not be ideal for short folks like me. In the future, I may stick to their comedy shows here, which I assume are seated.
