If you have an older home or home which may need repairs in areas DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I just paid a high amount for a 10x11 room, stair case and ceiling tape peel repair and they did an awful job as you can see from the photos. First day, they mudded some but missed many areas, I noticed they started painting and not repairing areas...when I spoke to the owner he said we don't do repairs. When I had the initial meeting, I pointed out areas and said I would like all of these imperfections, dings, fixes and he said yes, we will repair all of that. I showed him the crack in walls and he said we would fix it and you won't see it after. If you didn't do repairs...they should have disclosed that at that first meeting and I would not have hired him. He said we will just paint over top of existing. I said I would have done it myself if I knew that, but instead I paid for professional company to have repairs done and these are the results... these are some photos after work completed. One person Steven, seemed to take pride in work and started doing some repairs but wasn't here each day and as you can see it wasn't completed well at all. This is not what I would call a professional paint job. On the last day, I said to Eric the owner, I'm not happy with these results, he said I don't think I can make you happy! Wow....insulting! I said, "you are the professional, you see all of these errors, you know this could have been done better, he said yes I actually see these bubbles on the fireplace, which I'm going to try to fix before I leave...ok but everything else would you want to post these photos on your website and are you proud of the work? And he said yes! So he didn't fix the bubbles, and here is the PROOF of their work, proof that no one would be happy with this level of work. Also during this time he said he is starting his own company called Monarch Painting, separating from current pso I wouldn't recommend that company either.

I'm pretty keen on not getting overcharged for things, but I also know "You get what you pay for" After getting several quotes for a window replacement (old window out, new vinyl window in) I decided to give Mallo Home Improvement a go. Their quote wasn't as low as quotes from unverifiable sources (ie craigslist or such), they were much lower than the big box stores, and a few local shops. The Service: Mallo is good about working with your schedule to make the initial measurements. They don't stock the windows, so there was a couple week wait between the time I contracted the work, and the time it was completed, but nothing too long. They did a quality install job, and I've since called them back to do another window (currently on order). They have a small but nice showroom, making me rest assured I am in good hands and not some fly by night operation. I haven't looked into kitchen / bath renos with them, but plan to get more quotes from them in the future. Look back here for updated reviews as they will probably be my go-to guys. They also sent me a $100 gift certificate in the mail for christmas, which isn't good for repairs, but can be used if purchasing materials.
