My son and I have been craving Pad Thai but haven't found a place that looked good to us in San Antonio. Plus we always put the price into play. Most Thai food in San Antonio seems expensive- for us anyways lol. Since we took a trip to San Marcos we looked and found this little hole in the wall store/ restaurant. They only have 4-5 tables inside the little Asian Market they have but it seems they get a lot of take away. They have split hours and found out Yelp and Google say the restaurant closes at 3pm but actually close at 2:30pm for a couple hours and reopen at 5pm for dinner service. They do have a lunch menu with items starting at 9.99$ (pad Thai) and going up to 12.99$ and they have a regular menu with curry's, fried rice etc. Very responsible prices While we waited we checked out the few aisles of Asian items in the "store". Ending up spending and extra $20 on my kids favorite noodles that are hard to find. They have a small selection of fresh veggies and fruit. Tons of noodles. Sauces. Curries. Plus a freezer with the most popular Asian items to cook with . Within just minutes an older gentleman brought us ice water and some yummy fried wontons and sauce to snack on. I love fried wontons so this was a plus! Within another 5-7 minutes he brought out our beautiful plates of pad Thai. Fresh. Hot. Smelled sooooo good. The gentleman at the store who took our order was the best. Great customer service and great food! We're already trying to plan to go back!! It may not look like much but this place is great!

I was excited to try out the Thai food scene in San Marcos and came across this Asian supermarket with a restaurant in it, I was excited to try it out! I liked the ambiance of a family-owned market/restaurant. Pad Thai - This wasn't the best Pad Thai I ever had, but I loved the flavors in this dish. It was too sweet for my palate, but I could still enjoy the different flavors and textures. Loved the crunchiness of peanuts in this dish! A plus - this was a huge portion! Overall, I would definitely come here again and try some of their noodle soups!

Coming through the door, turn left to see the front counter to view menu and order your food & drinks.

They name everything weird, off the Thai standards, so if you order pineapple fried rice, you actually get "stir fried pineapple, with rice" and "pad kee mao", an extremely common noodle dish, arrives as "kee mao," a rice dish. They make no effort to try to clarify, understand, or making things rice. And the food is fine and overpriced. There are way better thai places in town, with far better service. Go there, please. If you're going to charge $20 for a rice dish, at least try to get it right and stand by your product.

The second we walked in it was cozy. It was also Christmas time so they had a Christmas tree and it was decked out in Christmas decor. Surprisingly there was only one other person besides us. We ordered gyoza as an appetizer. Took a little longer than expected but it tasted pretty good. I personally like mine crispy and this was a little more soft but flavor was good. Then we ordered either the General Tsos or Chicken Katsu (can't remember which!) My husband said it was ok. (But he's also a bit picky). It did come with soup which was your average Asian soup that comes with the meal. I believe it was the clear soup. I ordered the Otsu roll and that was delicious!!! My hubby tried that and he liked it so we ordered another! In fact, we've been back 2x since just to get that roll. It's deep fried with cream cheese, cooked or smoked salmon and eel sauce. Yum! The reason I gave it a 4 stars was for the softer gyoza and for the very slow service. The waiter was very kind and pleasant but he was the only one serving so at one point my husband had to get up and look for him and ask the chef to place another order because we had been waiting again for the waiter which we had to do a few times during our visit. All in all, we will be back! Loved the coziness, the non crowded space and most of the dishes.
