Primanti Bros. rocks the manwich sandwich. I ate at this location on a Sunday afternoon in August and sat in the open air section of the restaurant. I loved it! It's genius!! They can close it up in the winter time to keep folks warm and open it up in the summer to let the cool breeze blow through, and that breeze felt good. Seating isn't crowded and there probably isn't a bad seat in the house for viewing the television. If you want a nice, relaxing place to watch a sports game then this location will surely satisfy. I remember seeing this place many years ago on the popular food network show "Diners, Drive ins & Dives". This isn't exactly where Guy Fieri was however it's the same concept. Sandwiches with French fries & coleslaw atop many variations of classic sandwiches. I also remember the concept being truckers wanted a hefty but quick meal which I get but also the food is just lacking in some way. It definitely did not live up to the hype & craving that was created when I saw the show years ago. I am new to Youngstown and pass by this restaurant many times. My boyfriend invited me here with one of his good buddies. The parking lot and interior was very clean. Went on the opening week, Browns and Steelers playing at the same time, and didn't wait long for a table. Prior to the table though we grabbed two open seats at the bar. The bartender was absolutely horrible. She was just too into pleasing the guys and being insanely obnoxious. She made eye contact a few times but never came over to take our order or see if she could help. Another bartender came over and finally took it (after 10 minutes) and then she walks over and acts like she didn't see this or that there aren't full glasses in front of us. Offered us menus after someone else brought over menus (I mean, they were right in front of us) and then I couldn't transfer my tab to the table and she had to run it about 5 times and then go get help. I THINK her name was Brit. Definitely some partial version of a full name though. Our waitress was sarcastic and kind of strange but in comparison to the bartender, she was bearable. However, I don't love to go into public and deal with snarky, off-colored humor. Their deal is the whole meal in a sandwich where they put the sides ON the sandwich. Having not heard of this or had it, I went for it. Ordered the steak. The sides on every sandwich are fries and coleslaw. In theory, it's good. I think I, personally, would like it better as all separate. And the french fries were way too insanely salty that I HAD to pick them off. Inedibly salty. I have been hearing about Primanti Bros. since it fist popped up on The Food Network so while in Boardman my daughter and I decided to check it out and see if it lived up to the hype. It was just after 4 on a Thursday so it was not very busy. We walked in and were seated right away. Our server, Danyell, came over and introduced herself and asked if we had ever been in before. When we said we had not she was excited to tell us about their specials. We were there during happy hour so Tater Tots were 1/2 price and they had huge slices of pizza for $1.50 and then .50 for toppings. They also have Pizza specials on Thursday nights where you get a large pizza and a pitcher of drink. As great as the pizza sounded they are known for their sandwiches so that is what we decided to try. We had an order of Tater Tots with cheese and bacon for an appetizer and they were delicious! Nice and crispy on the outside, great flavors and loaded with cheese! I would definitely order these again...esp. during happy hour! Its a killer deal! Rhyan chose a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and I chose the Sirloin Sandwich. Now normally you get the meat of your choice, cheese, coleslaw, tomatoes and french fries between two pieces of Italian bread -- neither of us like coleslaw or tomatoes so we left those off, The sandwiches are HUGE! Even leaving all that off there is no way you can pick them up and eat them. There were so many fries on Rhyan's you had to dig through them to find the eggs and bacon! (See my photos) For all they hype about these sandwiches we were not that impressed. Yes they are huge but as NIkki Sixx of Motley Crue has been known to say "Big don't always mean good." Rhyan, who LOVES bacon and eggs was not impressed at all. She said there was just no flavor to it. She loved the amount of bacon on it but said it was rubbery and tasted almost like it had been reheated. There was no crispiness to it at all. She was not a fan of the fries either. She thought they had an aftertaste. My sandwich came out and it was not correct. There was no bacon and they had made it a double meat. I mentioned this to my server and she apologized for the double meat but never offered to correct the order. I was glad to see I was not charged for double meat even though she did not mention it. The steak was very fatty and extremely chewy. And again no flavor what so ever. It needed some seasoning. I personally liked the fries and thought they tasted really good! I could eat a loaf of the bread alone. It was amazing and sadly my favorite part of the sandwich. Even thought we boxed up most of my sandwich and Rhyan's bacon.(yes just the bacon) we did decide to try dessert. We ordered the bread pudding. It came out and looked really good but it had no flavor what so ever.... and it was not hot all the way through! We boxed it up and brought it home but even reheating it did it no favors. Again there is just NO flavor. Even the "Whisky cream sauce" had no flavor. It tasted more like a vanilla cream and again...it was cold. Not a fan. While we did not have a stellar experience we do agree we would like to go back and try the pizza.... and we would get more tots! Maybe next time will be better. We had quick service from our waitress but it wasn't enough to overcome the rest. We ordered drinks and since it was happy hour, my domestic draft beer was half price($2.75 as opposed to $5.50). Our appetizer arrived quickly. The cheese for the queso dip tasted like canned nacho cheese sauce. Our daughter's roast beef which she ordered without the fries and slaw was dry, my partner's 1/2 lb cheeseburger wasn't very flavorful and to me tasted like the frier. Her french fries were very good though. I ordered spicy garlic wings. They were not hot all the way through but they were crispy. They looked good but they were very spicy. They tasted completely of hot sauce and even though there was jarred minced garlic in the sauce, they tasted nothing of garlic. The menu says that they come with ranch and celery but they arrived without. The waitress did bring them when I asked but then a charge appeared on our bill. The waitress had the charge removed without a hassle. Our bill was $43 and change. If my beer hadn't been 1/2 price our bill would have been $50 before the tip. Definitely not worth the bill. Five Guys burgers and BDubs wings are better. We won't be back. read more

We went here on st Patrick's day for the first time to this location. When compared to the average food at grove city from primamtis we were hoping for good things. Our fried pickles app was good. And our waitress was friendly and knee the menu and kept our drinks full. My fiancé boneless wings were the best we ever had. They weren't like Quaker steaks with tons of batter and dried out taste. These were fresh, perfectly flavored and had a good bbq sauce on them. Her chicken salad also was perfectly balanced.
