Upon entering Mizu Japanese restaurant, my husband and I waited a couple of minutes until an employee greeted us and walked us to a table. The restaurant did have a sign that said that they are hiring additional employees, so maybe they are understaffed. The top of the table was a little dirty from a previous customer. Our waitress was very friendly, and she quickly brought out our appetizers and entrees. Here are my reviews for the foods: Side salads - 4 stars - The salads tasted good, but they contained way too much dressing. After we ate the lettuce, we had deep puddles of dressing on the bottom of the bowls. Side soups - 4 stars - These clear soups tasted good and contained a small amount of vegetables. Tuna sushi - 5 stars - My husband likes tuna, and he said that this sushi could not get anymore tuna-like. Vegetable hibachi - 4 stars - The vegetables included carrots, onions, peppers, broccoli, zucchini, and mushrooms, and I liked the taste of the sauce. My side of white rice was cooked well. Chicken katsu - 5 stars - My husband described this entree of breaded chicken as "really good" and "so big".

I've had my fair share of yakisoba. My husband has been to Japan itself and enjoyed this dish. I will say with high confidence that we did not get the dish we ordered. Their version of yakisoba consisted of boiled chicken, steamed ramen noodles, and steamed vegetables tossed in a "sauce" meant to emulate the yakisoba flavor. The issue with this, starts with the noodles, then the way it should have been cooked. You can't just use whatever noodles you have on hand - you need soba noodles. Then the point of yakisoba is that the dish is fried in a wok. The dish tastes best when all ingredients enjoy this method of cooking, and that wok-fried flavor meshes with that texture. The sushi did not redeem them either. I ordered an eel special role, and was left wanting. It tasted more like sugary sauce than actual eel. They definitely skimped on the meat as well regarding this. I believe we had the dragon roll, where there should have been a mixture of salmon and eel, with avocado, covered in eel sauce. It was worth it to try this dish, but sadly, we will not be back.

We went here for dinner and we're surprised by the portions. Whether it's a combo plate or sushi roll order, it's a lot of food for each order. So, order one or 2 things first as you might be too full for more LOL. Great food and wonderful wait staff. Very clean and affordable. Check it out!

Great place for sushi! We go here almost every week. The fish really fresh and the staff are nice!

Ordered dinner through Grubhub. This is NOT real Japanese food. Rice were super dry and not Japanese style. Deep fried sushi was SOGGY, they didn't poke holes to release air on container.

I have been to multiple Japanese restaurants around the area, but Mizu Japanese restaurant have offer the best experience in terms of service and food quality. The servers there are really polite and patient when explaining the food choices they offer. I ordered a Love Boat for Two and maitai. The sashimi were fresh and everything was beautifully displayed. It was an incredible experience and I couldn't ask for more. 10/10, would definitely be back in the future.

This place is definitely a hidden jem. I was mind blown be the flavors. And I have been their 3 time and have yet to have bad service. Good food + Good service = happy customer. Good atmosphere ,If you want some good sushi, noodle or just a dessert with bubble tea, try them...it's worth it. Sushi can only be so good this far from the ocean. Mizu is about as good as it's going to get, which is saying a lot. Food is wonderful, service is polite and attentive and you always get your food in a timely manor. Can't ask for more. The fry cheese cake dessert was a perfect ending to my meal.

Spicy Salmon Roll and Youngstown Roll

An extensive selection of rolls as well as drink options. The prices were quite reasonable, and happy hour has nice discounts. The food was delicious, and the service was good as well. We will absolutely be back to this place.

California Roll and Youngstown Roll - Two of my favorites at Mizu!

I have a weird thing with the taste and texture of sushi, but have found that hot sushi doesn't bother me and I can really enjoy it. Does anyone know if this place has deep fried rolls and what they are? The online menu isn't very clear on that.

Yes there are a few options. American dream roll and crazy roll are.

Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse: A Culinary Circus Worth the Ticket Price!…read more If you're looking for a dining experience that's part delicious meal, part family-friendly magic show, look no further than Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse in Youngstown! Seriously, it's like dinner and a Broadway show all rolled into one -- but with fewer awkward intermissions and more sizzling meats. First off, let's talk about the entertainment. The hibachi chefs are like culinary ninjas, flipping shrimp, tossing knives, and making onions erupt into volcanoes -- all while keeping your kids (and your inner child) giggling uncontrollably. It's the kind of show that makes you wonder if you should have brought your own popcorn. Now, onto the drinks! Their sake is so good, it might just make you want to do a happy dance in your seat (trust me, I did). And for only $18 a bottle, their wine is a steal! Who knew you could enjoy a fancy bottle without feeling like you needed to take out a small loan? And let's not forget the food. The filet mignon? Let's just say it's what dreams are made of. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection -- I might just start a petition for them to serve it as a breakfast option. Now, if you're feeling adventurous, don't miss out on the swordfish, which is a rare find in these parts! Just a heads up, though: there are no noodles with the fried rice, which is a bit of a bummer. But the vegetables and meats more than make up for it -- they're absolutely amazing! Pro tip: If you swing by on a Saturday at lunchtime, you can snag any hibachi meal with the full show for almost half price! I mean, who doesn't love getting a wild performance and a fantastic meal without breaking the bank? In summary, Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse is my go-to spot for a reason. With mouthwatering dishes, a show that'll have you laughing and clapping, and prices that won't make your wallet cry, it's the perfect place for a family outing or a fun date night. So grab your friends, family, or that person you've been trying to impress, and get ready for an unforgettable experience! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you, and your Instagram will be begging for a post!

A Beautiful Atmosphere and Outstanding Service for a Truly Special First Visit:…read more My first visit to Mizu Restaurant in Niles, Ohio was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed. The restaurant was absolutely immaculate. Everything looked spotless, polished, and well cared for, which immediately gave me a great first impression. You can tell they take pride not only in their food and service, but in the atmosphere they create for their guests. One of the first things that caught my attention was the beautiful wall of water with bubbles in it. It was such a unique and eye-catching feature, and honestly it set the tone for the whole evening. It gave the restaurant such an elegant and relaxing feel. I absolutely loved it. It added a calming, almost upscale touch that made the whole place feel special without being stuffy or uncomfortable. The ambiance was another standout. The lighting was low and warm, which made the restaurant feel cozy and inviting. The music was also at the perfect level -- low enough that you could actually enjoy your conversation, but still there to add to the mood. They had popular music playing, and it blended in so well with the overall vibe of the restaurant. Everything about the setting felt balanced, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. What really made our first time at Mizu memorable, though, was the service. The wait staff was amazing. Our server was attentive in a way that felt natural and genuine, never forced. I never once had to ask for anything because he was always right there when we needed him. Drinks were taken care of, questions were answered, and every need we had was met almost before we even had to mention it. That level of attentiveness can completely change a dining experience, and in our case, it absolutely did. What stood out most was how the staff made our first visit feel truly special. There is a big difference between simply being served and being genuinely taken care of, and that is exactly how we felt here. We felt welcomed, appreciated, and comfortable the whole time. For a first-time visit, that means a lot, because it instantly makes you want to come back. Mizu Restaurant gave us more than just a meal -- it gave us an experience. Between the immaculate cleanliness, the stunning water feature, the relaxing ambiance, and the outstanding service, this place left a lasting impression on me. It's not often that a first visit feels this complete, but Mizu really delivered in every way that mattered. I would absolutely recommend Mizu Restaurant in Niles to anyone looking for a place with a beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and a dining experience that feels a little extra special. Our first time there was memorable for all the right reasons, and we will definitely be back.
