Just had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the valley. It's another snowy January day and it just hit perfect.

Even after Uber delivering the food, 1/2hr away- their food is so good. I don't understand the dynamics here, I think it's "just a bar" but, their menu is large and everything is 7 of 10 or better! UPDATE... Ok, Friday night, place was staffed correctly for a Friday night. So I am assuming the long wait for food was due to kitchen. Two people at the table got king cut prime rib RARE. Pretty darn easy you would think. Esp if you have worked in restaurants for years. My prime rib and the other persons were WELL DONE. As far from rare as you can imagine. It did not look roasted, it looked like they bought a cryovac packed boneless rib roast, and cut off pieces and nuked them as needed. And the au jus out and out sucked. If they had used A powdered gravy mix it would have been better. Seriously, the prime rib out and out was awful. And gray colored, and not roasted, no oven taste at all. Didn't even complain, just won't come back here to eat again. Better to wait for Saturday and go to the Budapest on Mahoning ave, and get the filet mignon, with mushrooms, and baked potato. Was going to change my rating from the five the place had to a three, but, prior meals were good. But, crap, how do you have a kitchen that can't cook and hold prime rib? So making it a three star. Place is way deader than it has been. Assuming the owner is just letting the place run itself. Too bad. It was real good for awhile. But this meal. Microwaved prime rib! Ordered here cause we were desperate for somewhere to bring us a pizza and the first place I ordered canceled our order. I ordered through postmates. It took over an hour. I ordered a pepperoni pizza for my kids and a Caesar salad and Pub chipz for myself. The pizza is not great. I mean, I was starving so I ate it. There was pepperoni and cheese o lay on half of it and it tasted like a frozen pizza. Bland and boring. And the salad was romaine lettuce with Italian dressing. A far cry from Caesar. Who puts Italian dressing on a Caesar salad? Anyway. I based my rating on if I would ever eat here again....I wouldn't. read more

This was a very busy bar, fun atmosphere, great big patio area, pool area, smaller dining area. Lots of patrons shouting drink orders at bartenders. No dedicated place to order drinks. Took a little while to order food but the food was really good. If you're ok to wait for a little while to get your food then this is the place for you. read more

I haven't had a meal at the restaurant, but I enjoy the food enough to regularly order delivery. The baby back ribs are really good (not Great), but the reasonableness of the price in comparison to other local places makes them my favorite. The sauce that comes with the chips is also wonderful. This place isn't close to my house; but my orders always arrive very hot; so that's also a major plus. Thus; while I cannot speak to the ambiance, I would definitely recommend the food. read more

I've ordered there beforehand but recently I don't know if they changed managers or what but it was disappointing. The hot chips were so salty. The fried pickles weren't chips but spears and barely covered in breading. They were so soggy that we had to airfry them. We live 1 mile away so the food wasn't sitting very long before we got it home. It was just overall disappointing. The only saving grace was the chocolate cake. read more

Went to Shotz after reading the mostly positive reviews. The old industrial location on a poorly maintained street will certainly be a turnoff to some. The floor plan is a bit odd with the bar area being smaller than we expected and oddly shaped, with some of the chairs facing a wall. Overall however, the place appeared clean and well maintained, including the restrooms. The staff was both attentive and pleasant. Food and drink prices were reasonable. My significant other and I both agreed the food was good, somewhat reminiscent of how the Ice House was many years ago before the pool hall and outside bar were added. Unfortunately, some of the early evening bar patrons were loud and obnoxious, a real downer to someone who wants to relax and wind down with a good meal and a few drinks. The longer we stayed, I longed for the more laid back and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the now defunct, Bill's Place. Things did quiet down later in the evening. Had they not, we would have left as situations can become threatening. Shotz really needs to consider opening up some additional bar space to provide an escape if one chooses to move to a quieter part of the room. Overall, Shotz is an upscale dive bar in a questionable location with good food and a friendly staff. It was not the experience I expected, but different strokes............. read more

We've ordered delivery a couple times from here now - discovered them during this whole Covid fiasco - and really enjoy their food. Given their location, we gather it's likely a dive bar, which is fine by us, and look forward to being able to come by in person when everything calms down to check it out. I'm not a drinker, but I'd love to grab a bite and hang out, and see how things operate in person. But, from what I can say, our dealings with them have been on point. The food arrived on time, portions are good, and it's delicious. We look forward to trying more and are grateful to have discovered what's potentially a diamond in the rough hiding in our backyard. read more

Stopped here after going to another place and getting bad service. My kind of place. Dive bar feeling without it being trashy. Had a good conversation with some of the regulars. Bartender was nice and attentive. Drinks were good priced. Lots of Ohio craft beer bottles and all priced at $4. Had the Gyro and chicken wings were excellent and at a great price. Had never heard of Shotz until somebody posted about it on Facebook. Wish I had. They've got a decent selection of beers, a fun number of shots you can choose from, some great appetizers and excellent portions on all of their food. My son had the cod, my wife had a chicken sandwich, I had a western burger and each of us left completely satisfied and stuffed. Prices were completely reasonable. Service was great. If you like greens, don't pass up the opportunity to eat here. Had the best greens appetizer ever. It was so good that you could have made a meal on it all by itself. Had the Saturday special which is a strip steak dinner and loved the special green beans side with those smashed potatoes! Comfortable atmosphere and friendly people. AMAZING FRIES, VERY SIMILAR TO Idora Park! Areally nice place it's shocking that there is only one review. The place has been open for a while this has been my low-key spot. Not really a crazy crowd and a lot of the same people that are there the ownership has changed some, ie one partner bought out another or something like that. They have daily specials and the place has been remodeled since the first review in 2015. The same bar but a brighter color scheme and outdoor patio is very nice for the smokers. They have daily specials on drinks and food. The food is really really very good. I have had the Burgers & Wings plenty of whiskey lots of beer and the pizza. They also have other things on the menu such as Gyros and steak. And by the way if you are from Youngstown Ohio and you are old enough to remember Idora Park the fries here are very similar and amazing. GREAT FOOD NICE PLACE! I LOVE IT!
