In my opinion, if you work at a front desk, especially in a medical setting, it's best practice to greet clients with the utmost respect, be courteous, and most importantly, be attentive. Unfortunately, the front desk attendant seemed to miss the memo about these essential attributes. I understand that closing time is at 8 PM, but she clearly had other things on her mind; it looked like she was either watching a show or scrolling through social media on her phone. As soon as I walked in, I barely started to speak when she abruptly interrupted me and instructed me to check in on the iPad. After struggling with a poor service connection, I returned to the front desk, and she quickly directed me to log onto the guest Wi-Fi. It would have been best if she had suggested that right away. After I completed the check-in process, she reviewed the reason for our visit and informed me that there was no X-ray technician available that evening. Had she inquired about the reason for our visit when I first arrived, it would have saved me about 15 minutes of attempting to complete the check-in. Overall, even though the office hours end at 8 PM, there is still ample time to maintain a positive attitude at work. I ended up going up the road to Las Palmas where it was a world of a difference with all the staff. Recommend that location.

A week before, I had obtained my blood test orders and gone to Quest Diagnostics at (06:00), where Lluvia efficiently made the draw and later faxed the results to Dr. Munoz. I got over my initial shock upon seeing a former colleague, Carmen, who was accompanying her husband; my pleasure was doubled to meet receptionist Lulu, an exceptionally friendly professional who quickly got me in. She surprised me a bit at her magnificent ability, considering the large waiting room was rather full of patients (only a portion of whom were to see Dr. Munoz). I was taken aback slightly upon meeting Dr. Munoz, anticipating that he would shower me with good news about the results. Although all my numbers looked good, he was a bit grim about my white cell count--until I told him that I had donated platelets at UBS. To be on the safe side, he gave me a follow-up draw orders, not to be completed for at least a week, giving my bones time to make new blood. He also understood why I moved a bit slowly--my orthopaedist, Dr. Urrea, had told me a decade ago that I had premature arthritis, and now it is MATURE arthritis. Regardless that my knee is a bit gamey, I can still pedal. Indeed, I participated in the Rio Bravo segment of the international Chupacabra bike race held just South across the river, in Cd. Juarez, Mexico, Saturday. Talk about a great event; even better was my unwitting participation! Anyway, if you need superior primary care, you can certainly get it here, especially from Dr. Munoz. I give him/Valley Medical Clinic my wheel of approval!

Waited another 25 for the actual "Doctor", staff could be heard screwing around, laughing and talking instead of treating patients right away, and the way they checked us was unprofessional. They swabbed our noses (hardly reaching in), listened to our heart and lungs only once from the front, didn't check our throats for possible inflammation, and seemed to be in a rush to not to interact with the patient. The room we were in also had a shriveled up bug, which appeared to possibly be a bee of some sort. Would not recommend.
