My daughter and I researched numerous facilities in and around Morgan Hill, California, for many months. We were looking for the perfect Assisted Living residence for my 90 year old Mom. A large part of our decision to select Westmont of Morgan Hill was due to the confidence we felt in its Nurse Director, Ria Hernandez, to deliver the level of care and service we were looking for. Ria does an amazing job of keeping her Care Team functioning at peak performance in providing excellent care and genuine concern for my Mom and all the residents at Westmont. We are at the facility several days a week and are so delighted that Ria and her team are constantly checking in on Mom to make sure that she is comfortable and is receiving all the services she needs to feel safe and "at home." The facility is very clean and well maintained and we especially appreciate all of the creative, decorative touches the team provides at each and every holiday event. The residents there all seem happy and well cared for. It's like one big, happy family! We gladly refer friends and relatives to reach out to Ria if they are contemplating moving a loved one into Assisted Living or Memory Care. It's been such a relief to know that Mom has a loving, caring team to look after her every need in this chapter of her life. Linda & Jeannie (Mom's daughter & granddaughter)

I have a $25 balance I have been trying to pay for 4 months, and I have called at 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, noon, 1,pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. They never pick up . I will have to drive there to make a copay payment that did not process bc the machine was not working. That part is annoying. And ultimately I am switching providers bc making an appointment here is virtually impossible. But if you make the appointment in person, then it's smooth sailing.

I had PT at the hospital and home, and then graduated to this establishment to get me back to full health. They fit me in, and then my improvement was rapid enough that my biggest issue was keeping up with the improvements I was experiencing. They have been very good in explaining things so I can get back to the level of function I hope to. Right now I'm actually fixing the issues in my musculature that pre-dated the hip replacement, and that seems to be improving at a good clip. From the start, all the therapists I've interacted with have been great. Robert, Glenn, and Liane have all been very much giving me the information I need to improve, and critiquing my current state to suggest what I need to work on to improve my physical state. They've also been helpful in sharing their expertise from seeing a large number for people with similar surgical procedures. It's actually been good to get the expertise of all of these therapists, as each has contributed different viewpoints, all of which have been helpful in guiding my recovery. Very comfortable environment to have PT in, and I've recommended them to one of my old friends, who is ending up in the same state that advancing age I find myself in.

It is an illegal…read moresemi-institution/nursing home for middle age to elderly SARC consumers/adults with intellectual disabilities. I am certain she calls it a "hospice center" as a cover for why they die so often. This owner keeps changing names evade accountability. This was "Rachel's Home" last month, and was the only option the regional center would give my sister. This place almost killed my sister in one short, 3 month respite placement. I was trying to move us both out of this area but my sister couldn't even complete the respite stay. This facility is dangerously understaffed, on purpose. There were 11 residents two months ago, but they have a lot of openings, as residents don't stay long, probably because their families pull them out or they die from untreated health conditions and neglect. Most look residents look depressed. There are two I am very concerned for, one of which looks like she is in severe pain. These residents are getting the bare minimum, assembly line care. They are all confined to a small living space or their rooms during the day. They eat dinner at 4 PM and are locked in their rooms for 13 hours at night. Their health issues are hidden. "Rachelle" will kick your loved one out if you complain. This facility isn't a home, its an inhumane prison. Prisoners and animals are treated better than these residents. My sister is very high needs. She has severe food allergies. This facility refused to follow her special diet, which could have killed her. My sister was confined to a chair all day. No one talked to her. She didn't go outside. She was in her room alone for hours before bed. They wouldn't turn her TV on for her. They lost her remote, along with many of her personal belongings. She was on the most dangerously low caregiver to consumer ratio I've ever seen at 1:8. They had no plans on her birthday. They lost her bedding and gave her one dirty hospital blanket, on her birthday. Some residents are supposed to have their own caregiver but this owner is stealing those 1:1 funds. There are only 2 caregivers, ever. The manager suggested my sister get her own caregiver to address the serious neglect she was suffering, so I had to let the regional center know how badly this place was neglecting my sister to get her on a safer ratio. Her facility was inspected so this owner "Rachel" took over my sister's IPP to kick her out without 30 day notice. I recorded that meeting. The owner didn't even know what an IPP was, much less what "consumer-centered" or "individualized" meant. She then lied to SARC and said I swore in that meeting and to her staff to be able to kick her out. When I got a lawyer in response to those lies, they repeated those lies to a court official to get my conservatorship removed, so I had to drop everything to defend myself against those lies to a judge. The funny part is that they knew I recorded that meeting. I had to get a sheriff escort to get my sister to prevent her from saying more lies about me. Rachel wouldn't give my sister her meds without signing something, because she doesn't realize my sister is an adult with rights who doesn't have to sign anything, and not a product that Rachel owns. Some of her meds were missing and were clearly misused. My sister walked out of that place with walking pneumonia and two ear infections. She was spacey and combative and lost some of her independent skills. If she had stayed her dementia would have rapidly progressed and she would die from untreated health conditions. I was able to keep my conservatorship because it was easy to disprove this woman's lies. but this place is now on the county's radar as being extremely sketchy and dangerous. SARC also lost all credibility. This woman's lies keep backfiring & she can't stop lying to save herself. My sister's lawyer said there have been multiple reports to licensing about this place. The owner keeps changing her name and the name of her facility because following basic laws to provide humane care is not an option for this owner, no matter how many inspections she gets. "Rachel" is one of many opportunistic sociopaths who came to this country to take advantage of the lack of regulations of the care for vulnerable adults in this area. SARC pays many similar "homes" to this one to neglect vulnerable adults to death. SARC knows they change names and doesn't care. Thats the only reason this place doesn't get shut down. All regional center services are like this. Eugenics is how the state saves money. Im not going to stop until the whole world knows it.

My 75-year-old mother underwent necessary brain surgery three weeks ago. Three days before surgery, she had a ground-level fall, tore her rotator cuff, and sustained a small fracture. Because the surgery could not be deferred, she proceeded as planned but required significant care at home afterward. She had been fully independent, and although she lives with my father, the caregiving needs were beyond his comfort level. I was able to help for a few days after her discharge, but it was clear they would need additional support for her to remain safely at home. The hospital nurses were wonderful, but my mom needed assistance even with basic tasks like repositioning in bed and using the restroom, as her left arm was immobilized. Our hospital care coordinator connected us with Amy, the client care manager for Family Matters, who met us at home right away. She performed a thorough evaluation and took the time to understand my parents' needs and preferences. Almost immediately, we were connected with KJ, the Director of Operations, who coordinated the caregiving schedule. She ensured an excellent match with caregivers and that coverage was consistent and reliable. Communication was seamless--KJ was always responsive and proactive with updates, and we never felt out of touch. My mom especially wanted to recognize her primary daytime caregiver, Maria. Maria was attentive, warm, and incredibly experienced, with over 20 years in caregiving. She is also an excellent cook and was especially skilled in helping my mom with more vulnerable tasks like showering. The other caregivers who supported nights and weekends were also wonderful. The team clearly put thought and care into matching personalities and backgrounds, which made a meaningful difference. Over the following weeks, my mom gradually regained her independence, and we were able to scale back care smoothly. The team made adjustments easy and seamless. We would absolutely use Family Matters again. This was our first experience with a caregiving service, and we were initially apprehensive, but they made the entire process easy, supportive, and reassuring. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Even more challenging is finding caregivers you can truly trust during such a vulnerable stage of life. A very special thank you to Family Matters, and my father's caregiver, Sade. He is under hospice care with advanced dementia, and can barely speak. Sade is consistently patient, and kind, and gives me complete peace of mind whenever she's caring for him. Most importantly, she engages with him and makes him feel seen. This is in sharp contrast to other caregivers we've experienced who are often on their phones and treat him as if he's invisible. I'm also especially grateful for KJ who manages the caregivers and scheduling. While other agencies haven't taken the time to meet my father or me in person, KJ made it a priority to get hands-on training to fully understand my father's caregiving needs. Because of this, she's been able to step in to provide training and support which is a huge godsend given my limited bandwidth. She even proactively revised the caregiving shift note template to make it clearer and more helpful for our caregiving team. Family Matters has truly exceeded our expectations because they understand the real meaning of caregiving. On top of that, their participation in the Veterans Assistance Program, which requires stricter qualifications provides an added layer of confidence and experience.
