Amazing service at a fair price. Tim helped us when the furnace went out during a storm. Highly recommend!

I was told my air conditioner had a refrigerant leak and was quoted approximately $12,000 to…read morereplace the entire system. I instead sought a second opinion. Another HVAC company repaired the leak and restored the system to proper operation for $1,404, eliminating the need for replacement. My experience appears to be consistent with that of another customer. In a Yelp review dated May 13, 2026, Terrence D. of North Syracuse described a nearly identical experience involving the same Falso Service Experts representative, A.J. Martino: "Routine maintenance check gone bad. Was told I had a leak in my AC... quoted $10,000 to diagnose, not even counting a repair. $12,000 to put in a new unit. Mr. Martino is all about install and sales, not repairing a unit for a loyal customer. Another company came in and repaired the unit... Total charge $2,000." While I understand that repair estimates can legitimately differ between contractors, these repeated incidents suggest a pattern of using routine maintenance appointments to steer customers toward costly repairs or complete system replacements rather than reasonable repairs. The striking similarities between my experience and that of another customer raise additional concerns.

He was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, was very respectable & informed me to keep track on replacing my filters on my calendar. It definitely made sense for my filter was way to clogged to be doing it's work like it should. It now is on my calendar every 3 months to remind me. I have never been disappointed in having Angelo Chiodo for many years. When I called the clerk on the phone was quick to set up my appointment also. They are very trustworthy at a very fair price as well. My sincere thanks!!!

I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.

I just wanted to share a recent horrendous experience that I had with Cooney Air Conditioning &…read moreHeating of Syracuse. Cooney installed a $11K combi bolier/h2o heater for me 5+/- years ago. First Cooney is no longer Cooney. They were bought out by John Betlem Heating & Cooling based out of Rochester. They are still going by Cooney locally when you call the local number, which in my opinion is false advertising. You only find out that you're dealing with Betlem when they try to sell you a yearly maintenance service plan. With that said, here's what happened. Last Tuesday I woke up to no heat on my 2nd floor. I called Cooney for a service call. After leaving a message, I get a return call about 2 hrs later. The Betlem rep tells me that they can't service me until Monday, a week later. I said again, "I have no heat". They replied sorry, that's the best that we can do unless you buy the "yearly maintenance plan" and then we can schedule you sooner. I asked them to send me the information so I can review it. After reviewing I called back, spoke with a different rep ready to purchase the " $184 plan" and asked, now that I'm buying the plan when will you be out. There reply was, next Monday. What a scam. The old Cooney was first rate. When I had emergency issues in the past they were at my house within several hours or by days end. The way that it should be in an emergency situation. Luckily, I'm knowledgeable about a lot of things and after 2 days of "troubleshooting" I figured out the issue by myself. I will be looking for a new company who can meet my needs. I warn everyone out there. Do not do business with Cooney/Betlem. The old Cooney was a small local business who built a great business on customer satisfaction and great work performed with pride. Betlem is a large business not geared to personal service and they just don't give it $hit. All they care about is making money.
