I understand that I missed appointments in the past, and I take responsibility for that. However, those missed appointments were months ago, and since then I've been told that I can only schedule same-day appointments. The problem is that when I call for a same-day appointment, I'm then told the office is already fully booked. That leaves me in a situation where I'm unable to schedule in advance, but I also can't reliably be seen the same day. I called today because I'm currently dealing with an issue that requires medical attention, and I even took half a day off work specifically so I could be seen, only to be told there was no availability. I completely understand having policies regarding missed appointments, but there should also be a reasonable path for established patients to regain normal scheduling privileges, especially after several months. A policy that prevents a patient from scheduling ahead while offering no guarantee of same-day availability makes it extremely difficult to access care. After being a patient here for years, it's disappointing that I'm now considering finding another provider simply because I cannot reliably get an appointment when I need medical care.
