I'm from out of town attending an immediate family member funeral. I was not expecting to host any form of meal. At the last minute - I felt I needed to provide a meal for our out of town guests. Being a more mature (old) person - I made the initial reservation online With ease. With time the reservation number got larger so I followed up with a call. There was no problem. By the time all my guests arrived the number was even larger and another table was added with no complaint or problem. My guest were made to feel welcome. A special menu was provided for my guests to make personal selections that included appetizers, main meal, salads and desert selections. The main meal had a selection of steaks, salmon, chicken and everybodys favorite - chicken fried steak. Each meal came with a protien selection, starch and vegetable. Every meal was prepared to perfection. The desert selection of a layered chocolate cake or cheesecake topped off the experience. Our server worked hard and efficiently to make everyone happy. Bravo!! Considering this dinner was so last minute PRIME ON THE NINE made each of my guests happy and made my job as a host so easy! Requested extra butter only for the baked potato, but it was the same butter they use on their steaks (and an additional $5 charge, even tho we returned it). Salads (dinner and Caesar) were fresh. Called in advance since we were only traveling through - this was very helpful. Made reservations but didn't really need them. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food pretty good overall. Service: poor. Weird, effeminate server was, determined to add secret surprise charges to the bill. I was charged for mayonnaise by $2 and despite multiple conversations about the baked potato being $3 extra, was charged $5 extra. It ended up being an expensive lunch when it shouldn't have been. We were in town just for the night, and based on reviews, chose to give this restaurant a try. What a great surprise. It's located on a golf course, with lots of windows providing a great view and lots of light. We were greeted by Jake, the manager, who was personable and obvious he was vested in the place, and cared that we had a good experience. The cocktail menu is extensive, creative, and had some very nice, high-end liquors. We also met Robin, the bartender, who created the cocktails, and they were excellent. My favorite was the High Priestess, made with Hendricks Flora Adora . Came in for dinner on New Year's Eve. Was promptly seated and ordered a smoked old fashioned. Asked if they had Angels Envy Rye, was told he's, and got Angels Envy Bourbon. Not a big deal, but the waitress doesn't know her bourbons and ryes. The bartender was a beat off, too, as they ran out of cherries so they hit the drink with some grenadier. Odd, but it was still good, as the smoked feature worked well. My daughter got the red pepper chicken fettuccine. Turns out the 'red pepper' was in fact, crushed red pepper. The dish had quit the zing to it. I loved it, but it was way too hot for her. I had the bone in pork chop. Now this was very good, though overcooked a bit (no pink at all). Whatever they used as a rub was delicious, and there were enough juices on the plate to dip every bite into. If it had just been a little less done it would have been perfect. The dish came with Brussel Sprouts that were exquisitely prepared and tasted great. The only question I had was why they were all leafs, and only leafs, and not the actual bulb you would expect with Brussel Sprouts. Service was fine for the crowd they had. A manager made the rounds and was pleasant to talk to. The waitress was hard to hear, but we made it through. As far as the venue itself goes, they decorated nicely for NYE, but outside of that it looked like a dinning room in a club house. Probably because, it is a dinning room in a club house. Probably would have been more impressed if it was light outside, as the walls are lined with windows, but we couldn't see a thing other than the blinking lights of the windmill dance in the background. read more

Being a city girl born and raised i've eaten at many steak houses in larger cities (ex. Houston, Phoenix etc.) most of the time the prices are pretty drastically expensive. Here, i feel that the prices are more reasonable. $37 for a 6oz filet mignon which is usually $55 minimum in my vast experience of ordering steak. We arrived a little after 5pm and were seated immediately. As time went on it got busier but not crazy. Our server, which i wish i remembered his name to give credit to, was AMAZING. He was a young gentleman wearing earrings who looked in his early 20's. He really made the experience much more than average. He definitely deserves praise from management and i really hope that happens for him. Me and my husband already plan on coming back while we are still in town for a short period to try a few other things on the menu that looked appealing to us. read more

We had an extraordinary meal there last night. I am not a fan of goat cheese, but the goat cheese risotto is outstanding! I had the filet and it was cooked to perfectly medium rare. BF had the NY strip which he thoroughly enjoyed. His sides were the Gouda grit cakes and Brussels sprouts hash. Both were phenomenal! We ended the meal with the fried cheese cake with vanilla bean ice cream covered in a Bailey's Irish cream and salted caramel sauce. The meal was the culinary O. The restaurant, which is in the club house of the local golf course is lovely. The diamond of the evening was our waitperson, Annalie (sp?) a charming young woman who was incredibly attentive to us. They couldn't handle and didn't want to overwhelm the kitchen with a table of 5 (my husband and children) and then a table of 4 right behind us. Upon immediately walking in, I was amazed by the decor and beautiful view of the rolling Hills. I was greeted with smiles and quickly directed to my seat. I chose to sit at the bar, which was gorgeous. The bartender made the drinks like a chemist. She was accommodating and friendly. I ordered the beef fillet which was so tender, you could cut it with a fork. It was the best steak I ever had. I also ordered the baked potato, which was huge and delicious, and the broccoli hash which the sous chef Bo came to me personally and explained how it's made. Wow when does that ever happen. I highly recommend prime on the nine my compliments to the staff and especially the head chef for the exceptional food and service. Okay, the entire town smells of the beef processing plants, yet it is hard to find a great steak dinner. WTF? So after three trips here I finally found a steak that is worthy. Just ordered some expensive for what they are salads from here as a pickup order. They are tiny and slapped into their Togo containers. There are no napkins! There is no plastic silverware to eat them with! No ketchup for our fries... How do you eat a limp salad without silverware? If you want an epic steak dinner in DC, look no further. Atmosphere is great, right on the golf course. Dining room is decked out in luxurious dark wood and there is covered outdoor seating. Had the DC strip. It was a work of art and the best steak I've had in a very long time. Service was great. If you are looking for the top notch dining in Dodge City, this is it. First of all, the food was terrible. My $45 prime rib was completely overcooked. When I brought up my complaint to the owner, I could smell the alcohol on his breath, his mannerisms were showing signs of intoxication, and he was very aggressive. My husband and I visited this place on a local Kansas resident. We were heading out of town and after reviews thought we try it. Being as it was slow, we thought We would get served in a timely matter. Boy we were wrong, after a half hour or so I had to go track down our waitress to find out what the matter was with our food. I use to be in the restaurant business, and the last thing the customer wants to hear is excuses. It would of been nice if the waitress told us straight out the food will take longer because of phone in orders. We wouldn't of stayed. Our food was immediately brought out. Thou the hamburger and steak were very good. This dosent excuse the excuse we got. The manager clearly needs to teach the staff of proper etiquette. read more

Excellent service and a great view of the Mariah Hills Golf course. I had the mushroom burger and the husband had the Buffalo chicken salad. My burger was cooked medium well and very juicy. The only issues was not enough dressing on the salad. The French fries that came with the burger were crispy. I asked for excellent ranch dressing for dipping.
