Lets you arrive and sink into your met. I had such an issue with my hip and was going to see a dr the next week for a shot, I took one of her classes and she added ball rolling and WOW is all I can say. Dr said I didn't need a shot and continue to take yoga he also said I didn't need another appointment. Jill and Gina, the current owners, have fostered an environment that is welcoming, supportive and focused on each individuals well being. The space is bright and airy and offers a varied class schedule. All yoga equipment is provided at the studio but you are welcome to bring your own. They offer virtual classes which provides flexibility and ensures in studio classes are never overwhelmed. Pricing is also reasonable with a variety of packages to choose from. Parking is never an issue with abundant street parking available. I've attended classes instructed by Jill, Gina, Heather, Christine, Theresa and Raman and highly recommend all of them!! I cannot recommend this studio enough. The team there is very knowledgeable and super quick to help me with adjustments, etc. to make sure that I can have a workout that is intense, but safe and balanced for me and my body. I'm never afraid to ask for adjustments or corrections on my form because the team here is so kind and encouraging. I want to preface this review by saying that I am still very much a beginner at reformer, and have taken 5 classes at the other C2 studio in Dedham and have always had a positive experience there. Being that I am relatively new, I'm very much happy to get pointers & corrections on my technique. However, my experience with Vania bordered on being singled out and almost embarrassed. When doing leg exercises & correcting me on my form, she made a comment about how my "inner thighs are really weak." Later she corrected me on my tailbone placement & made it known to me that she was using me as a demo because my form was the most incorrect out of everyone else's. Like ok??? I didn't sign up for this to be compared to other people in the class who different levels of experience. Shortly after, she makes a comment to the class saying "some of you have more cushion on your body so it's harder to locate the tailbone." I was shocked. I am a size 6-8, & have a curvier body type. It is NEVER okay in my book to comment on other people's body types, especially in a class like this. She finally stopped when I told her I felt singled out, but the damage was already done. For the rest of the class, she proceeded to make comments about how we "shouldn't feel embarrassed to make mistakes" and how she has "never felt shame" being corrected & was not a natural at Pilates herself. Regardless of her intention, these comments were extremely out of line and went beyond simple constructive corrections. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I have never felt so bad about myself in a fitness studios until now.

Maybe it's just me, maybe we just mesh, maybe she's just my kind of people- but Bonnie Kelliher is…read morephenomenal! I suffer degenerative disc disease and am in pain 85-100% of my day. All different types of pain, from muscle spasms, to joint pain, to nerve pain, etc.. Over the past few months I have been been seeing a physical therapist for neck and shoulder problems 2x a week and a chiropractor for back, shoulder, hip and neck problems 2x a week. Over the past 2 weeks, my hips and back have literally been ON FIRE, like if you were to pull my clothes back, I am convinced that what you would see would be a raging, burning fire. About a month ago, I decided that when the kids went back to school, I was going to make it a goal to attend a yoga class twice a week. After all, I had bought not 1, but 2 packages last year and I hadn't made any time to use any of them. I have a crazy busy schedule with all of my doctor's appointments, 2 jobs and two small kids with their own appointments and activities; and I never make time to do anything I enjoy (outside of being "mother"). So anyway, I've been busy, I've been in pain, yadayadayda...and I succeed in making to class last Wednesday! SCORE!!! I was convinced I'd get on the mat and cry for the full 75 minutes because I am so wound up, I was worried I'd let it go as soon as there was silence, lol! Well I didn't cry-at all. In fact, I came out of that ONE class with peace and a sense of openness in my whole body and mind. After that ONE class, the burning throughout my body instantly cooled. My muscles feel awake rather than attacked and I keep repeating to myself: "balance the ease and the effort-find my comfortable place" in everything I do. Bonnie made such an impact on my body and mind after one class, that I crave to be in her class again. Her manual adjustments are amazing and her verbal cues are spot on. Her flows are meaningful and perfect. Bonnie's class is truly healing. On top of all that, she's downright funny, relatable and easy to be around!!! She doesn't take herself too seriously and she makes everyone feel so comfortable to not be perfect, but strive to be comfortable. I was actually surprised at how much more I was able to get into different twists and stretches with her guidance to NOT push it. I've taken many classes where the teacher says that, but there is something in the way that Bonnie approaches it that made it tangible enough to actually believe it-and then execute it and take it off the mat after. I am thrilled to have stumbled upon Bonnie and I wanted to share how much I appreciate her work. I am grateful, to say the least! Thank you! One month update: In a bizarre turn of events, my son jumped into my arms and gave me whiplash. I continued to take Bonnie's class while I was healing. I truly believe in her teaching!

As much as I enjoy Khalid's music, this doesn't really make for a very relaxing time, at least for me it doesn't. I was really perplexed, and after that I wasn't able to re-center myself and focus on being in the moment. My next issue is that I don't think they clean the rental mats between uses. I say this because when I returned my rented mat, the employee took it and placed it exactly in the pile where they first got it for me, not a separate "used/to be cleaned" pile. It was a bit concerning. Still debating if I should go back or not.

While the classes book up far in advance, I've never had an issue getting off the wait list. The studio is very welcoming. The owner, Elizabeth, makes a point to get to know her customers by name. I appreciate the variety of clientele as well. There's all different ages, body types, genders, etc. I've never felt intimidated in a class by the other participants. The prices are also incredibly reasonable and I've been able to get good deals by being subscribed to the newsletter. The "SHRED Shorty with Weights" with Caitlin is an intense class. It reminds me of SoulCycle, but way harder. I've taken Caitlin's non-weight classes and have also had my butt completely kicked. I've taken a Pilates class with Amanda and it's been on my to-do list to return to because I loved it so much. If I ever move from Quincy, I'll be sure to return to SHRED whenever possible :)
