Love this place! I've been preparing for a Caribbean vacation after a winter of indulging and decided to check this studio out because it's near my work. Both my coworker and I fell in love with the Pound classes and have been going to those, as well as a Barre class here and there, for the last 3 months. I'm leaving for my vacation tomorrow and I feel like I've accomplished all my fitness goals at this studio. The instructors are all extremely friendly and professional, the studio is clean, the sound system is great for the loud music during Pound. So glad I decided to check this place out! I really like the classes here. Cassie, who teaches on Thursdays, really kicks your butt. I'm usually sore the next day, but it's always gratifying to see that I'm getting more flexible and stronger. The prices in Quincy aren't bad at all, $15/class. The new client special is worth it as you get two classes for the price of one and then they ran a deal in December where you could get a package of classes for a sweet deal. It's definitely worth it to pay attention as there are ways to make it affordable. They're also on ClassPass if you belong there. My only gripe is that the classes are really big. It's sometimes hard to find space, and it can be really overwhelming. Also, I'd love to see more classes that start at 7 or after 7. With the T being what it is, it's hard to get there earlier. read more

I tried out this studio through a Groupon and really loved the experience. The space is clean and spacious, with gleaming hardwood floors and ample space for mat work. This was my first time trying Barre and I felt welcomed but also challenged from the get go. The instructors are inviting and knowledgeable, and help you make corrections to your form to make sure you always get the most out of your workout. Allison is a wonderful instructor, and I would recommend anyone to try her classes! read more

I danced for 15 years, and had never tried Barre. I love it! It brings me back to my dance days, and all of the warm up stretches. Allison is awesome! I was so sore after the first class, I'm about 15 classes in and I can do things now that I could not do the first class. It really works, and I'm seeing great results. I feel stronger and more balanced. The class schedule also works really well with my 9-5 work schedule which I love! read more

Secret Physique is by far the BEST barre studio I have ever taken classes at. I have only been to the Quincy location, and the prices are very fair.The studio atmosphere is spacious and inviting. The instructors are clearly very passionate about barre, Cassie being my favorite. I went the Secret Physique for about 2 months straight, 3-4 times a week, and each and every class was different. This was huge for me, because I have been to other studios where you do the same exact moves each class. I look forward to taking more classes at this studio! read more

I signed up for the new client membership and I have to say I am a big fan. I have tried other barre workouts (Pure Barre and Bar Method) and Secret Physique has the same great workout that they do, with better prices. The classes are not so jam packed (like other barre studios I've been to) so I actually feel like I have space at the barre and on the floor. All of the teachers I've had are super nice and encouraging. Unlike Pure Barre/Bar Method, they do not have a carpeted floor (which I prefer) but because they have other fitness classes, it makes sense why they don't. I do wish they offered more evening classes, but overall this is a great place. read more

I just moved to the south shore and was looking for the closest barre class and found this place. So glad I did! Staff is friendly, the space is open and clean, even the participants in the class are friendly (I was used to the awkward silences in other barre studios). Plus, the classes are affordable. I took a couple of barre classes and each instructor (forgot their names, sorry!) approach the students and correct their postures. Once you've got the posture down, they comment on it. It shows that the instructor is attentive, and its motivating. My favorite class is Hollywood Dance with Jenny (owner). I am awful with choreography, but the dance is simple, sexy and fun. Plus, you leave the class sweaty and with the confidence that you can sign up for a music video. read more

Never in a million years would I think of trading my intense cardio workouts on the treadmill for pilates barre classes- but thank god I did! Best decision of my life- Secret Physique Barre is my ultimate new obsession and the results keep me addicted. I have noticed a significantly stronger, leaner body (especially in my legs which has always been my problem area) since I started taking classes here. I take classes at both the Quincy and new Hingham location and they are equally as fabulous. My favorite instructor is Cassie (they all are amazing) but Cassie works you hard and always has an excellent attitude. I would recommend this class to everyone and anyone! read more

I managed to acquire a Living Social deal to try out this studio (which I had seen many times from the road) and I am glad I did. The Bardio class kicked my butt and the barre classes were unique and challenging. A good way to mix up my normal workout routine. Nice atmosphere, welcoming and helpful instructors, a bit pricey to be a regular here, but worth a trial at least. read more

I was looking for a good fitness classes near my home - something different - I get bored with doing the same thing I found this place randomly online and signed up for a class - It was a little tough to find (tucked in back of a building) but so worth it once you get there - give yourself like 5 or 10 extra minutes if you are not sure or familiar with the location The ladies at the desk were really nice and pleasant - even though I was a little late and flustered (and frustrated at myself for being late) I was greeted with a smile and welcomed right in - no snobbiness or attitudes at all which made me feel really comfortable and alleviated my anxiety (new place, new people, show up late - of course I was anxious!) The instructor Rhys was so nice - she is very skilled and not intimidating - she clearly describes the exercises and provides great motivation like letting you know there are only so many more reps to do - which is great when your muscles are on FIRE She introduced herself at the end of the class (since I was late). Her class was really challenging - my body is sore in so many great ways I will definitely be going back and hope to add these workouts to my regular fitness schedule - I would definitely recommend this place - they have a variety of different types of classes with locations in Quincy, Pembroke and soon to open a location in Hingham. I've been going to Secret Physique for almost 5 months now, and figured it was about time I give them a public shout out. I've considered myself a fitness fanatic for some time. Ever since high school, i've constantly tried the "new thing" trying, and often failing to find a routine that I believed really worked for me both physically and mentally. From hot yoga, to running, to machines at the gym, stairclimbing and boot-camp style workouts, nothing was as effective as the Barre method at Secret Physique. Their unique blend of yoga, pilates, and barre, is just what I was looking for to tone and strengthen the muscles I never knew how to reach despite all of my years of fitness. The classes are always unique, perfectly timed to wonderful music, as well as challenging for various levels of fitness. No matter where you are on your journey, you can tweak and adapt the moves to work for you. The staff is incredibly knowledgable and attentive, but also kind and enthusiastic...its easy to get to know them as more then just your instructor but as people. The sense of community that Secret Physique fosters is just as exquisite as the effectiveness of its workout on both your body and your mind. I would certainly recommend Secret Physique and ANY of their instructors to anyone looking to try something new in the world of health and fitness. I have never before been able to justify spending money at a private studio separate from a gym, but trust me...this will be some of the best you spend. read more

It's hard to describe exactly what the barre method is but I can tell you that I am someone who has tried every workout out there at least once in my life and this is not only unique, but one of the most fulfilling workouts I have ever experienced. The targeting of muscles is like no other workout. The best part about barre classes for me is that the targeting of muscles is only for a few minutes so if you can power through the burn and the shaking, the amazing stretching during class and at the end class is worth all the hard work! It is just a great blend of strength training and stretching for your entire body - trust me even without cardio you will be sweating! And if you are looking to kick up the cardio too, they have Barre Works and Bardio classes that include awesome cardio portions - they have become favorites of mine! I also love how the music is always changing and really goes well with every class. They also time the dimming of the lights into the cool down portion that really creates a relaxing environment by the end of class. Beyond the amazing workout I love Secret Physique for the motivation and sincerity that the owner Jenny and all the instructors provide - they really made me feel welcome and comfortable since my first class and for me that goes a long way :) read more

I'm a total barre enthusiast, and while visiting our hometown (boston), I was totally worried about not keeping up the barre routine I had worked so hard at starting in SC. Luckily, I found Secret Physique and now I am dreading going home! As far as barre classes go it is similar to the techniques at pure barre, but honestly, better! Exercises are switched up more often, and everything can be made more challenging if that's what you want. The instructors are super attentive, will make corrections, but in a very motivating way, and the class can really be as hard or do-able as you make it. I love that they offer modifications to make it harder or easier, and although the Hingham studio doesn't offer as many class times as the other two studios (Hingham and Quincy), it doesn't matter because I was able to use my membership at all 3 studios! The studios themselves are super clean, beautiful, and well maintained, and all the instructors have been great! I of course have my favorites (Jenny the owner, and Cynthia really kick your butt in the best way possible!), but there isn't any instructor I don't like taking a class from. Aside from the fitness side of it, the childcare is an AMAZING added bonus. I am a stay at home mom, and I do not just drop my one year old off with whoever just because they are there, and I have definitely checked out gyms and felt their childcare wasn't good enough, and not gone. The childcare staff here is out of this world, especially Maribeth, and I have never felt more comfortable leaving my baby somewhere. The childcare room itself is also really nice, and packed with age appropriate toys for everyone. It's also never so crowded that you worry about your babies' safety, and its always very clean. Overall this little trio of studios is a gem, and really the best barre in general has to offer, so just go, you'll LOVE it! read more

We are so lucky that Jenny brought one of the first barre fitness studios in the area to the south shore! The classes are never boring, are super challenging and are a must for all fitness levels. I have problems with my discs and am in and out of shape, and this is the one exercise that I know, if I went consistently would help me build strength where i need it to keep my body healthy. I have only taken the barre classes so far and you can feel the tiniest little muscles in your body working their hardest. If it doesn't shake, it's not working, so you know you're getting a great workout if your body is shaking! But don't let that intimidate you! it's like pulling off a band aide, once the move is finished, you feel amaaaazing! Spend your money wisely and go here! I just tried Secret Physique for the first time this morning with my class pass. My instructor was Jenny and she was great. I haven't done Barre in about a year and this class far surpassed any barre class I've taken. While it was quite difficult for me, I found that the class worked every muscle and I was able to get such a good workout in the hour I was there. Jenny is a great teacher and the way breaks up the class makes it easier on your muscles, & incorporates a stretch after each workout. I'll be back. read more
