So I was at my house and I saw my neighbor across the street getting his delivery of food and I waved down Chris Gallagher and he asked me if I have ever ordered before but I hadn't , but I had seen him many times delivering over the years to my neighbor. He showed me the big box of steak and another big box of seafood and I explained to him my freezer wasn't prepared for this much food , he offered me a free freezer but I decided to just try a mix box , so he gave me his favorites half beef and half chicken as a sample box. I got rib eye , a tri tip that already had flavor , filet medallions (which we had last night and were so soft wow) and then garlic shrimp (he told us this one was his favorite seafood) we will try this one tomorrow for shrimp tacos , wild salmon , and really beautiful seabass. He told me normally he could stock it in my freezer but with the crazy situation we are in he was unable to go inside unfortunately but he packed them all and labeled for me each one in a bag it was very nice. After we tried it My husband told me I should have just gotten the freezer but we will next time if they have them. He offered to help me if we go into full lock down and I am unable to leave the house said he will help customers with getting essential needs since he will still be working. I'd give 0 starts if it was an option! I feel so dumb for falling for this company after reading all of the reviews. David (long reddish/blondish curly hair) shows up at my house in San Marcos and says he was delivering to a neighbor and has a bunch of meat left over, do I want to have a look at it? Okay, I'm thinking I will buy a nice $20 steak or something. He asks if he can come in my house which I thought was odd because he said he was going to show me the meat at my front door. He barges in and starts opening boxes of frozen meat and laying it out on my dining room table. I start getting uncomfortable because I don't think this is going as I planned. I told him I had a $20-$30 budget, he starts getting irritated and telling me that I should charge my credit card or write a check to purchase a few boxes of meat for $479! I stay firm to my original budget and he starts getting a nasty attitude and says fine, he'll sell me a box of beef patties for $30 dollars (which turned into $32, by the time I was done). I don't take time to write many reviews, but my experience with Prime Selections makes me want to vomit. I was introduced to them by a friend that said they came by him with a missed delivery of a neighbor but had a good price on grass fed beef. So I took the sob story and got a couple boxes thinking the price was good. This meat is terrible, so bad some cuts are throw away because of the amount of fat and connective tissue. The meat is terrible. Don't fall for their high-pressure sales pitch. The beef isn't close to being worth what the box costs. We had the same experience as everyone else: a high-energy, loud-talking guy who says that they were there to "deliver to our neighbors". His sales pitch sounded impressive, except that he barged in our front door and started moving everything on our table so he could lay out his boxes of beef. He acted excited to be selling us "super good quality meat"....meat that he claimed was the same steaks delivered to Mr. A's and Ruth's Chris. We bought a box and we regret it. This must be the friends and family page. How can a company move their Yelp page going from basically a 1 star to a 5 star??? Wow!!! I paid $232 for Frozen meat. After my family tried the meat and found it embarrassing disappointing. I fell that's it's disrespectful to take a animals life and turn around and rip off people calling it quality meats. If your standard has always been eating frozen TV dinners then this is your company. But once you have tried their meat Prime Selection will not return your money when you realize they lied to you and sold you crappy frozen meats. When you thaw the meats in your refrigerator, they are already a brown color. They are very thin so I couldn't figure out a way to cook anything to medium rare so there is a touch of red in the center because after unthawing them from the refrigerator they were already brown... I am not trying to deceive any customers, but trying to keep it real. I would rather eat the butt off of a skunk than to ever eat/purchase meat from Prime Selects again. I was suckered into buying from the truck and I am not even upset about their sales techniques or lack there of. Once I got over the sticker shock of my purchase, I got excited about the fact that I had a freezer full of "Natural/Organic/Grass Fed" protein, ranging from beef, chicken and seafood. Fast forward to a weekend where I was having friends over for dinner and decided to break out the case of New York Strip Steaks. They looked nice but the taste was something else. Not only were all of the steaks in the case tough and had large amounts of fat (not marbled fat) but all of the beef had a fishy flavor. All of the steaks were thrown away and we ordered pizza. Giving it another chance I went and pulled out 4 individually packaged, herb marinated and 2 honey mustard flavored free range organic chicken breasts to defrost them for grilling. Grilled them up, tasted them and immediately spit out the bite I had in my mouth (the rest of my family did too). The flavor on the honey mustard one was so overwhelming, I couldn't taste the chicken. The flavor of the herb marinated was ok but the quality of all the chicken was sub par at best. It was rubbery and tough. All of the chicken was thrown in the trash, just like the steaks were. On to the payment aspect of this "company". I put a deposit down and then filled out carbon copies for future debits (which would be taken out on the specified days) to payoff the debt I incurred when purchasing all of the not great quality of meats. They stopped by my house at 7:30pm and demanded that I pay the amount due because they hadn't gotten their payment yet. I showed them the receipt copies that I was given when I first signed up with them no more than three weeks ago and was told that my receipts weren't good enough and I need to make my payment at that moment. When I questioned the rep, and asked for the number to finance or his supervisor I was told to look it up on line because he didn't have the number on him. At that point I told him to take the meat that was left, since I was guaranteed 100% satisfaction and I would then cancel the service. the rep then told me that he wouldn't take the meat back and would not leave until he got his payment. Umm no. That's not how things work. Once my husband came to the door and threatened him, he finally left. I will be calling the office tomorrow to have them come pick up their poor quality, over priced product and to cancel the rest of my payments. read more

We called to tell them it was gross and we didn't like it. They said we had 3 days from purchase to return it and all of it has to be returned. How the hell are you suposed to know if you like it or not!? These people are peddling horse shit and they are the biggest crooks. Does it seem a little odd at first that someone is selling meat at your door? Sure. Is there maybe some sticker shock at first as well? Yes, until you realize just how much meat you're getting. They also let you choose what you'll actually eat. So far the meat we've had has definitely been high quality. Keep in mind, the meat won't cook itself so part of it is up to you. I visited prime selection with very little knowledge on meat products. I didn't understand the difference between supermarket quality and "prime selection " but there is such a thing. So, I went in and asked for help. Luckily, I happened to come in when the inventory manager was on duty. He introduced himself as Roger and quickly went to work asking me what type of meat I like. If it weren't for Roger I never would have known the difference between grass fed beef and other types of cuts. Customer service was two thumbs up. Awesome selections! We use Prime Selection meats on a regular basis. As a busy Mom, I LOVE the marinated meats - a time saver and DE-licious! We were pressured into trying this selection of steak, seafood and ground sirloin. We have thrown out the sirloin after cooking it for a hamburger. The NY steak was too tough. The lobster tails were minuscule so I boiled 4 of them and had enough meat to make 2 salads. Very disappointing all the way around. I've purchased salmon and beef steaks from Prime Select in northern and southern California. The quality is consistent and the taste is very good. The packaging makes it easy to prepare a nice meal in a short amount of time. Barbequing is effortless and we get great results every time. I've never had to return anything. The price could be cheaper, but considering the front door delivery, it is fair. The salespersons are courteous and transactions are speedy, no hassle. For busy people, this is a no brainer. So far, I haven't tried my purchased shrimp. The sales person that came to the door was friendly and not pushy. I decided I wanted to try the 1 box of shrimp. I am slightly disappointed that I weighed the box and thinking it was going to be 4 lbs, maybe I misunderstood him, came in weighing 2.6 lbs... So that is $20/lb of jumbo shrimp, more than I would have wanted to pay, but it may very well be delicious and worth that.
