The folks at the check-in counter were super welcoming and the courts were pretty darn great! There were about 2/3 of the center set up for tennis and about 1/3 for pickleball. We had an absolutely blast and for only $40 (10 for each of us), it was quite a good deal. We certainly got our money's worth as we worked up a sweat, had some close games and more importantly, had fun!

This specific location is a little further out from the subway stations, and is more in the warehouse area, but was still fun to go! They provide coaching lessons in case you're a first timer, and generally provide racquets and shuttlecocks too. I came to play with my friends on a Sunday afternoon, and we had fun dusting off our badminton skills. When you first come in, theres a screen that tells you who reserved what court for what time that day. You can only get in if you reserve, it's not a public court. Then, you just go to your designated court and play! The concept is pretty simple. As far as I know, there is no limit to how many people you can bring with you, as long as they're not causing a ruckus. Amongst 4 people, we all paid around $20 to play for the hour. If you've been itching to play badminton, then this may be the spot!

I had a blast and it's like ping pong without the table and like tennis without the strenuous moving effort.They also have restrooms and changing rooms but for me the restrooms are enough cause the clothing I am wearing is what I will wear when I am smacking that little ball back and forth. They have a very good system here, ensuring everyone interested gets a turn. Everyone seemed friendly, respectful, and there to have a fun time playing the sport. No one seemed overly competitive/combative and everyone was cool when a stray ball inevitably crossed a court mid-play. While I don't play pickleball all that often, I definitely consider this court one of the best outdoor courts I've played on. Oh and the views... wow!!! Where else can you play a sport in the city and enjoy such awesome waterfront views?! Even the skyscrapers above are gorgeous to look at as well. 5-stars in my book, through and through!

Then as the game next to us ended we were invited to join another game. It's a surreal experience to be ON the Hudson with the boats passing by, helicopters landing and taking off and having the amazing NYC skyline to faze at in between points. The only reason that I can't give it a 5 star review is because of the lights. They were dim And you have to use 'the Force' to return some of the balls being hit at you. (Quite reasonable) Not for its court quality. (Low ceiling, but ok) I am giving "zero" for the owner's unacceptable attitude in addressing an incident. The manner he talks to customers, abruptly, absolutely rudely, no explanation what so ever. And if you reply and ask for "why", his response is "You cannot use the facility anymore. I can kick you out." Authority .....? "I can kick you out and ban all of you." Yes, he is one of the partners and yes, he may have the authority. But, if there is no sign of what to caution, and no warning, no explanation, then he cannot enforce such. His attitude of disrespecting the customers condescendingly was so unacceptable that we ended our membership there. We will not be going back.

She has this great ability to break down the game into smaller concepts that can be worked on outside of her clinic, whether it's social play, team play, etc. Her only goal is to help you grow and become a better, smarter, strategy-oriented player. Plus, she is the type of person that lights up a room when she walks in - always smiling, is so kind and passionate about the sport. Her attitude and demeanor is infectious, and is exactly the type of coach needed at the Pickle Club!

This club is not a development club. They only care about the MLS team and use all other teams to…read moresupport those teams. They also pick kids from MLS from other teams and do not develop players at all. The club is owned by a private equity guy who lets coaches run a business. The coaches do not know how to run a business so the place is a disaster with guys that only know how to coach and thus are on power trips. The private equity guy buys other clubs and makes adjustments annually. If you want your son in a bad situation with coaches that have huge egos and refuse to communicate to parents then join here. Don't believe me? Ask any player or parent on any team including MLS and they will tell you how much they hate the place but use it for their son's resume for college. This is exactly why American soccer sucks - guys that run a club like this are exactly the problem.
