I arrived around 4:30 p.m. with my 13yr old son and two of his friends to try open play.The court was completely packed when we arrived, and the staff suggested we come back around 6:00 p.m. because it "would clear out." We left and went to Atlas Park to pass the time, then returned at 6:30. At that time it was equally packed so I asked at what time would it clear and how do they manage the time of players. The staff member said they "just look at the cameras," or check payments which, to me, sounds like there is no real system and that people can just stay as long as they want if they are known by staff. There seems to be no regulation or order about when someone's paid time is over. After waiting,I expressed my concerns about the time management. The staff then proceeded to tell me that I could pay at 7:15 p.m. and that the boys would be able to play on the right basket because the group there was leaving, since it was a private session. A group of approximately 12 boys who had been playing in the middle basket came over to the basket where my son and his friends were playing. The group of boys approached my son and his friends and stated that they would be playing a game first and that my son and his friends could play after their game was over, which would be taking away from the time I had just paid for. One of the boys even made a comment like "don't make me violate you," which is completely unacceptable and clearly meant to intimidate my son and his friends so they would not play. I immediately went to the staff to express my concerns. For a proper game especially in a space with just one hoop there should be a maximum of 10 players, so this was already an issue.The staff member walked over and asked the boys if they could play together or move to the other side.The boys argued with the staff, ignored what he said, and simply continued their game. The staff had no real authority, and nothing changed, so we ended up leaving. I am extremely disappointed not only because this place is taking people's money without any clear way of tracking court time or giving everyone a fair chance to play, but also because the staff could not ensure a safe and respectful environment for players. I had hoped this could be a regular place for my son and his friends to play and maybe even become members, but this was an awful first time experience. I hope management seriously reviews their open play policies, staff training, and crowd control so families and players can feel safe and actually get the court time they pay for.

Each nearby park I have strolled, jogged or bike ridden through has had somewhat if a facelift. From miniscule improvements like new brickwork and the planting of flower beds to a beautiful new running track, such as Victory Field received. Surrounding the hybred rubber clay surface of the well defined white lined lanes there are areas for additional physical exercise needs. You can do situp's, pullup's pushups, crunches without having to lay in the dirt. The baseball field was redone within the same time frame and as I pass by on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I enjoy looking at the excitement of the young ball players on the field With an elevated mound the pitcher looks in deep at the catchers signs and quisically shakes him off. It must feel like Yankee Stadium to the teams that play on the artificial turf, although Yankee Stadium is natural grass. Handball courts are always brimming with energy and competition. When I was coming up, all the best players played here and I still enjoy taking a quick seat on one of the clean and structurally sound park benches under the mighty Silver Oaks with my dog to watch a game.

This park is huge and has several parts . While we always go to the lower levels for playground/…read more basketball areas we decided to visit the upper level Ridgewood Reservoir area . It's an elevated area with views of Brooklyn and Queens . You came see the ait traffic towers at JFK and even The Rockaways from some points. To get up top there are staircases all around the park. If you enter on the side facing parking lot there is an accessible ramp that takes you to the top as well. Up top you can walk or bike ( shared pathway). Walk around to check out the views or hit the middle pathway for the reservoir views. Signage is good and there are lots of historical and informational checkpoints. We went sort of mid morning and it wasn't crowded. Other evening and weekends when we visited other parts of the park there's been a significant amount of people but not crowded. The parking lot however can get jam packed on weekends. Lots of park workers around cleaning and giving directions etc , It's a well kept park. The picnic areas are nice as well. One side of the Reservoir is very noise due to the Jackie Robinson highway running along that end , heavy traffic sounds. Other than that it was a peaceful walk and bird /nature sounds were quite audible. I nice place to get your steps in and enjoy views.

This is not the first time I've been to Citi Field but it's been several years. And the first thing I noticed - as a wandering foodie who uses boring innings as an opportunity to hunt down the best eats - was that the concession game has leveled up considerably. In addition to typical stadium fare such as Italian sausage and chicken tenders with fries, you've got more premium vendors like Pat LaFrieda, Fuku, Seoul Bird, Pig Beach BBQ, Chef Kwame's Patty Palace (that's chef Kwame Onwuachi, whose hot Lincoln Center property Tatiana is *still* an impossible reservation to snag), and of course, the ubiquitous Shake Shack. I came on a company outing, and was pleased to discover that the food & beverage credit loaded onto our accounts was easy to use, and simply required scanning the ticket barcode on the MLB app. It's a beautiful park with good sightlines, and fun to walk around the concourse browsing shops and official Mets merch, and if you're me, food sampling your way around the stadium. I can't speak to the parking experience since I took public transit, but Citi Field is conveniently located right by the Mets-Willets Point stop on the 7 train or by LIRR (a quick trip from Penn Station). To avoid crowds, long lines, and jammed trains, I recommend playing hooky to catch a weekday game for the most pleasant and relaxed experience. Bottom line: this is a great outing with friends, family, or out-of-town visitors. You don't need to know what RBI stands for to enjoy this time-honored American tradition of watching grown men chase a ball, belting your heart out during the seventh inning stretch, and drinking overpriced concession stand beers.

They also pick kids from MLS from other teams and do not develop players at all. The club is owned by a private equity guy who lets coaches run a business. The coaches do not know how to run a business so the place is a disaster with guys that only know how to coach and thus are on power trips. The private equity guy buys other clubs and makes adjustments annually. If you want your son in a bad situation with coaches that have huge egos and refuse to communicate to parents then join here. Don't believe me? Ask any player or parent on any team including MLS and they will tell you how much they hate the place but use it for their son's resume for college. This is exactly why American soccer sucks - guys that run a club like this are exactly the problem.
