The first time I went to see my stuff it's all destroyed full of rat poop and cockroaches. It's all ruins. You know what they offered me a broom. this isn't a couple of mice. All of my stuff is saturated with rat pee, and poop. I wouldn't take it back no matter what it's got hantavirus all over it. I just got another email that they're going up again to maintain clean and sanitary spaces. There's nothing clean or sanitary about this place. They're insane. read more

The manager on site is great. Unfortunately the access gate is broken this morning, at least two tenants are stuck inside the locked gate and can't get out, and other tenants and contractors like me are all stacked up outside trying to get in to start our days, and Prime's Headquarters only response is we have to wait for up to 3 hours until 10:00am when they open just for someone to contact us. I spent quite a while on the phone with them, trying every possible angle I could think of to get a response from someone in a position of authority so we would at least know what to expect, and they refused to do That. So weee stuck. I asked the customer service rep if he considered this acceptable customer service and he was simply silent. Answer: complete fail. read more

This was the worst experience of any retail establishment I've ever been to. I had rented not one but two storage units from this place located in Malden. Signing up was a piece of cake online so I'll give it that. You just fill it in upload your ID and you are in! however to get the 24-hour access you have to get the OK from the manager which I spoke to and I did. I had access and was able to move in some stuff the first time. HOWEVER, my purpose for renting these units was because I was moving and needed a place for a week to make the transition easy since the days could not align for my moving day. And the only time slot for renting a vehicle was at 11 PM since a bunch of students were moving at the same time. The reason this place sold me was because of the 24 Hour access which many places don't offer unless you have a business. The night of my move I rented a Zipcar truck and I had to move my entire apartment by myself. It took me a few hours but managed to get a lot in the truck. When I got to Prime Storage and entered my access code I WAS DENIED. It worked in the daytime so I do not know what happened. But there is no hotline for after-hours when everyone has gone home and no staff to assist at night. Therefore I had to bring all my stuff back to the apartment and unload dit all to bring the Zipcar back to its lot. The next day I called Prime storage and left a message twice with someone to notify the manager. No one ever called back. I called a third time and finally got to her. She said that was odd and said everything looked fine on her end. but I let her know I have a video showing me inputting the code and it not working. I wanted to discuss some sort of reimbursement because the additional product of 24-hour access obviously did not work and that entire night cost me $87 bucks with having to extend my renting of the truck and so on. I was informed that the only thing the manager could do forward the video I made to her manager. I understand that sometimes technology can mess up and it is not the fault of the front end people because they are not the IT people. I too am in retail and understand. So I emailed it to her explaining everything with the video attachment on SEP 20th. I have not heard or recieved anything on confirming it. The only time I heard back was a voicemail from the manager saying they didn't see the locks on my units so they closed my account. At that point, I don't think she really cared since she didn't even bother to follow up. So as a customer I felt like garbage and taken advantage of. Never will I do business with them again. read more

Was referred to these guys by the movers. They were running a special (first month half off). I didn't come across any logistical issues similar to those cited in the other review. Positives: Anthony at the desk is a cool dude. Helped me out when my storage door got stuck. Negatives: Realize that there is a mandatory 15 day 'notice period'. Ask whoever's helping you out whether hitting the next month's billing cycle during that time will put you on the hook for the next whole month's rent. I got a reprieve because when I rented, the DM for the ownership was around and she told me that she'll prorate for ten days provided I give notice prior to my billing cycle start date. Still ended up paying for 20 extra days because I wasn't sure whether I would be able to move out in time. Finally, this is a comment for storage in general. Boston is a very humid place. If you're gonna be placing your moving boxes in an extreme weather situation, they might become soft and collapse, especially those closest to the storage door at the bottom. In that situation, it might be best to invest in a climate-controlled storage. read more

Management clearly only cares about squeezing money from you. People are EXTREMELY hard to get a hold of. Sales people in NY have no idea how the field locations actually operate, so they will sell you units that aren't actually open. This resulted in my movers being stuck without a unit and charging me extra for overtime. Prime Storage refused to comp any of it. Awful experience. read more

WORST EVER! RUN AWAY FAST! When the property manager (some kid named Matt) refuses to review the security camera footage and tells you that "life happens" when you discover that the guy parked in the spot behind you has been repeatedly ramming into your Cargo trailer when he backs into the spot behind yours. Run fast! When you have proof that your trailer has been moved around in the spot without your consent and your cargo door lock shows obvious signs of tampering and STILL Matt refuses to review the security footage. We had our small Cargo trailer parked here for 2 years prior to this incident.... By the end of the day that we experienced this offensive, disrespectful treatment, we moved to another facility and immediately discovered that on top of the refusal to provide any meaningful assistance to resolve the issue, Prime / Capital Storage is also grossly overpriced. We were fortunate enough to find another property in Mechanicsburg that's $20 a month less. better lit, cleaner, better maintained and managed by people who actually treat their customers in a dignified, professional manner. So GLAD we found a better place! GOOD RIDDANCE! Note that I write this review only after calls to the District Manager Kurt Evans to discuss the issue went un returned. read more

The new ownership is insanely disorganized. I went in on a Friday to rent a unit, hoping to get an early start loading it on Monday. I could clearly tell they didn't really have things under control but figured its just a storage unit and I only need it for a month. I Get there Monday and can't find the unit # I rented. Turns out it was a parking spot. A little ridiculous that they didn't know that but I was willing to take a different one. They have no system in place to check so I waited almost an hour for them to keep checking paperwork and then walk around the property to check on possible units. They don't have a map. In the end they didn't have one. Ok, I'll just take a refund of the money I was charged. They tell me it will take 3-5 days, which is pretty standard. I tell them I would like some confirmation, which is also standard. The woman at the desk needs to call her manager because she can't issue refunds. Her manager emails me a screenshot of a refund issued a year earlier to an account that wasn't mine. After more back and forth I get my correct screenshot. They don't sell locks so bring one. They don't sell boxes or packing supplies so bring those too. I went to another storage facility and it was exactly what I pictured it should be. A friend of mine used to have a unit here a few years ago and there were no issues but this new company has a lot of work to do. I have never left a negative review before because I own a business and often they are left without a second thought. Do yourself a favor and until this place gets it together, go elsewhere. read more

I won a storage unit at this location and drove over an hour away to find out there is no one working in the office.. i call to find out whats going on and a girl tells me no one is there and she doesnt know if or when someone is showing up to open, even though it clearly states open 9:30-6. I waited over an hour (along with several others who wanted to reach the office to make payments) and still nothing. I will definitely not be returning to this place again!!! They clearly do not know how to run a business!!! read more

The staff is excellent and very accommodating. They made sure we had the measurements of the unit so all of our stuff would fit perfectly. They are new owners and every time we have gone down the property looks better and better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a storage unit. read more
