I was ASSAULTED inside of the management office. Safety, Retaliation & Accountability Concerns I am an active customer at this Public Storage facility, fully paid with no outstanding balances. What began as a routine visit has turned into a serious matter involving safety, access to my belongings, and retaliation by on-site management. Incident & Safety Concerns During a recent visit, I was physically confronted and verbally attacked by an individual associated with the property manager. I captured key portions of the incident on video. When I requested camera footage for proper documentation, I was informed that "the cameras don't work," which is highly concerning given the severity of the event. Retaliation & Threats After reporting the incident, instead of resolution, I was warned by management that if I posted an honest review, they would "destroy my employer's business profile." This level of intimidation goes far beyond unprofessional--it raises serious ethical and legal issues. Breakdown in Corporate Oversight I escalated my complaint to Public Storage Corporate on September 25, 2025, and was referred to District Manager James. Despite weeks of attempts, I have received no email, no phone call, and no follow-up. Corporate has since acknowledged the lack of response from the regional level and "re-escalated" the matter, but nothing has been done. Access & Abandonment of Duty Although my account is in good standing, I was suddenly given 3 days to vacate or risk losing all my belongings, with no legal cause and no written explanation. On multiple occasions, the office was unstaffed during posted business hours, leaving customers with no support or representative available. For reference, this facility lists weekday and weekend hours publicly -- yet no one is present to assist paying customers. Pattern Reflected in Public Feedback While I understand not every review reflects the full picture, public platforms have reported other concerns at this location, including issues with cleanliness, pests, and management responsiveness. These accounts, combined with my own experience, suggest a deeper issue with oversight at this site. Other costs: * Mandatory $20 cylindrical lock - 3 keys come with...don't lose all or you will have to hire a lock smith to drill it out. * Mandatory $20/month insurance. * Mandatory admin fee of $29. They said it will stay stable in pricing for a couple months but who knows after that. Apparently a 20% increase is impending (maybe in 6 months or less). PS: This is for 6am-9pm access and for 24/7 an additional $20/month. 4/5 stars as I talked to different people on the phone and they said I wouldn't need to buy a lock and could bring my own but then that wasn't the case and no one informed me it was different at different locations. Additionally they has registered me to sign up and had a date for move in before I committed. Maybe not an issue but what if I had just not gone with them; would they have charged me?? I don't know.. I want to say people here and district manager James are unsympathetic and non caring and do not want to do anything to help whatsoever. I had two units and I became behind 2 months due to being homeless. My unit was sold at auction without me seeing any notice in local papers or email. When my units were sold they did not help me try and get my personal items returned which is the law. I called district manager and he was less than helpful. I asked them to contact the winner and give my info so I could get my personal items and I would even pay for them and no help. I've called to check if additional stuff was left and never got answer. I would not recommend Public Storage, specifically in the Boston area, for the following reasons: 1. Unclear and expensive fees. The price ended up being almost triple what was initially advertised. It is also very unclear what time period your "monthly rent" applies to and how to cancel your auto-pay. 2. I had a terrible in-person customer experience at the unit. We arrived and were immediately yelled at by the person who worked there that we had 10 minutes to move in, or else we will be locked in and need to call a hot line (I get that we should have arrived earlier, but he was extremely rude about it and told us we would be locked in the building if we were even 1 minute late which is insane). Then, when we were leaving we asked him where to put the cart and he shrugged and left without saying anything. Simply not helpful in a stressful time. 3. Terrible hours. Access closes at 6pm which means it's basically impossible to move into or access the unit on a weekday if you work a 9-5 job. 4. Creating an account is confusing and the app is not as helpful as it was promised to be by customer service. Overall, if you're moving and using a U-Haul, HIGHLY recommend just getting a unit at U-Haul instead. I spent so much extra time and money going to a separate Public Storage unit, and it didn't end up being cheaper nor a better customer experience at all. read more

I have been meaning to write a review on this place for a while. Price: I rented a 5x10 unit on 6/30/18 . The monthly price was $133 per month. I wasn't told or expecting the rent to increase randomly with short notice . 5 months later I got an email that my rent would go up to $166 beginning 12/1/18. 9 months later it went up to $214 starting 9/1/19 no increase in 2020 then jumped to $275 on 9/1/21. So it's more than doubled since I moved my stuff in. Access: you can only access your unit from 9:30 am- 6pm. There is a gate with a code. If you are parked inside the gate after 6pm you won't be able to get out. Which I did not know on moving day and had to leave my truck in there over night. Parking : Only a very small lot that could fit one large moving truck or two small ones at a time. If you go with a truck and a big one is already there you will be out of luck. There is a second small lot for cars outside the locked gate ,only fits maybe about 6-8 cars. They also have a limited amount of moving carts with wheels to bring your stuff up maybe 3 or 4 for the whole facility and two elevators. My unit: there are these beams on the ceiling and 2 in my unit that have some sort of plaster on them that regularly crumbles , everything in my unit is covered in a film of grey plaster crumbles and dust. My clothes and shoes are also covered in it every time I leave. A few months ago when I was moving some furniture out I found a dead mouse in my unit, mouse dropping all over and dead bugs. They told me to contact the insurance company. Who then wanted to know what was damaged and asked me to send receipts of purchase for any item that was. (Not really damaged but just gross in there) I threw out a mattress that I was storing. I've been putting it off for too long but my plan is to downsize over the next month and keep my seasonal items in another facility. Moved out of the facility today and noticed rat droppings on the floor. As we started moving boxes we saw rat droppings all over my boxes and wrapped furniture and mattresses. There were other people moving out who said yes they see rats in the facility. I decided to throw out my furniture I don't want to bring vermin into my home. On top of the four legged rodents one of the two elevators were broken. Do yourself a favor do not put your belongings in this storage facility. See my attached pictures. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. THEY WILL SCAM THEIR CUSTOMERS. MANAGEMENT IS UNRESPONSIVE. The business practices of this establishment are absolute bogus. I made an online reservation at the online rate of $53/month. I got the email confirmation, and everything was set. I go to the office on the day of my move in, and am quoted $71/month instead. Apparently, the system automatically cancelled my reservation (for whatever reason), and when the person helping me tried to restore it, the price was overwritten at the in-store price. The property manager ensured us that we'd be getting the originally quoted $53/month, so we signed the lease, and received a written copy of the incident with his word that the district manager would call us to adjust the price. A few days go by and no call from the district manager! I call the office, and they say he'll call me back by EOD. Lo and behold, he does not call, so I call the office again, and I finally get the district manager's cell phone. After calling him, he tells me to forward my original reservation to him. I forward the email MULTIPLE times, and he argues that he has received NOTHING. In case my email server was the issue, I tried forwarding the email to different email addresses, and they ALL received it. I even suggested that I send a hard copy of the email using certified mail, and he says, "Oh we wouldn't want to make you do more work than you have to." If that was the case, then he should have returned my calls when he said he would instead of me having to hound him down. I, then, bring up the witness letter that the property manager signed, and the district manager tells me that he will not honour that because we signed the lease, and that the property manager has no power to guarantee a rate. Excuse me--if that was the case, the employees should have made it ABSOLUTELY clear that that would be the case. I wouldn't have signed the lease then for this godforsaken place. I cannot believe Public Storage is trying to charge me $18 extra because of an issue from THEIR end. Absolutely horrible company with equally terrible customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

To whom it may concern After reading other yelps , I am not at all surprised at the amount of negative comments regarding this storage area location. I've been renting in public storage in Everett for four years of renting 2 units at this location not by choice but with unfortunate circumstances that forced me to have come my way. During that time I have witnessed the hours be cut from being open until 9pm at night down to 6pm ??? Issue over Security well hire someone...with constant increases in my monthly payments, numerous turnovers within the counter help. It's no surprise. Building of the casino up the street it does not make it easy to get here now TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TONS as there as is constant traffic and also a newly placed a curb to limit your turn into lot makes it dangerous unless you go up to rotary and wait. 15 mins to get back , during this they cut the hours back. Why? I have seen numerous rodent droppings around my belongings. The lights motion sensor turn off while you're trying to look inside your storage bin after15/ 20 minutes therefore you have to walk down the hall and wave your hands in the air. Wasted time as it's limited as is ,I PAY for certain amenities which are not available unless I get a hall pass??? 1 being the bathroom which is no longer available unless you get a key !!! Don't I pay for this??AMENITY At times for some reason the ladies room would be left open but to be locked during the day when operating hours open is unacceptable and LAZY not every patron makes a mess of bathroom or clogs toilet all allegedly. The lack of carts at times is problematic and half are broken. Most recently what I have experienced has really hit rock bottom for me and will be removing belongings soon. Issue is I had asked over phone during the current situation of the Covid-19 Corona virus outbreak and being out of work if the late fees would be waived , if payed by end of month, I was told yes they are looking into it. So I asked for something in writing or online employee had said there's nothing right now we're just going to take them off when amount due is paid for month. Biggest lie!! After that I received a lien notice days later followed by voice mail /call stating they are denying to cover late fees, after I paid amount due which is 1 month owed during month btw and to call a Patrick Cassella the district manager.. Who is obviously not competent enough to manage a facility like so.., it appears calling a number which no one's going to answer really doesn't get me anywhere. After going through numerous calls of customer service, yes a sensible representative,.... it was handled correctly. And the fees were waived , which should have happened in the first place as I was told they would be. " NOT SURE WHY THEY WERE NOT" employee states ,I am told seriously....I am a paying customer its a storage facility how hard is it to function... I will NEVER rent another locker from Public Storage again. Customer Service is non-existent and they tack on fees if you don't pay on time which makes it more difficult to pay your rent. They do it purposely because they can't wait to auction off your locker. I actually paid my locker rent prior to the date I had been given before my items went to auction just to find out that I have to now pay for a new lock because Public Storage cut my lock. And I was told by the on site manager that my lock was cut because they were getting ready to auction my stuff. So I'm given a date to pay off my locker so my stuff isn't auctioned away, I pay my balance in full days before the date and now I have to pay $20 more dollars for a new lock because Public Storage assumed I wasn't going to pay because it's happened in the past with other customers. And this is all from the managers mouth. Oh and they went into my locker to look at what they could auction. I.I'm told to call customer service and complain to them only to be told it's in my contract. Which conveniently I can't access from their app or website. They monopolize the whole storage game. It's very hard to find another storage facility around here. They don't give a shit about their customers so don't be fooled by their smiles when you decide to rent from Public Storage. I'm SO ambivalent about this place. First, they have a first-month special for $1... BUT! Here's what it really costs: First month special - $1 Processing fee - $22 MANDATORY insurance - $11 MANDATORY cylinder lock - $18 So the $1 deal is really $52. Then they pro-rate it. So it's really $72 to move in to the smallest unit, despite the listing stating a rate or $65 a month at full price. Now, hey, keep in mind that this IS NOT an unreasonable fee, compared to other places in the city. However, it is incredibly deceptive and shady of Public Storage to keep up these practices. It's downright dishonest. But they're cheap. So what a conundrum... The space is really nice in terms of height. Unlike other storage centers, the 5x5 has about 8' of clearance overhead. Basically, if you're really good at Tetris, you can fit a small apartment in here. And they have an AWESOME deal that puts you in for a chance to win $1,000 a month if you have an auto debit- HAVE AN AUTO DEBIT The fees here for being even a DAY LATE past the 1st of the month are about $85. Yeah. It's about $85. And then you still have to pay for the unit for the month. Or else you get hit with A $130 DOLLAR LEIN SALES FEE WHEN THEY SUE YOU TECHNICALLY, BREAK INTO YOUR UNIT AND SELL ALL YOUR THINGS. Yeah. So. Public Storage. IT'S A SUPER MIXED BAG. :D read more

ROACH ALERT! Beware! Got the $1 for the first month special. +$22 for a admin charge, +$11 for a $3k insurance policy, +$18 for a special lock.. Total for the one month came out to around $55 for a 10'x15' unit. First few weeks of moving were fine, the general facility was clean, they supply 8 or so flat karts, and store with packing/ storage supplies. Parking lot is extremely small only able to handle 10 or so cars. Be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot too! Our unit had a bunch or mouse poo around the perimeter which was to be expected. Was a little surprised they didn't sweep it out though.. The real kick came when we saw two German cockroaches (adult and juvenile) in the hallway of the storage area near the elevator.. If it wants for the roaches this place would have been an easy four star.. Now I have a hard time giving it two. PRO TIP: Use mattress bags and seal them with shit with packing tape. Never store food items! Look into pest control and spray/trap/ pellet the perimeter of your unit before moving anything into it! read more

As others have stated, I too would advise against using this facility. I have just today moved the last of my belongings out after 2.5 years of having to store some things here. 1. Access Hours: At some point over the last two years this facility stopped allowing extended or 24 hour access. Instead, access is now limited to "normal" business hours, and weekend hours that are a joke. Anyone with a 9-5 job is severely limited in their ability to access the facility. 2. Cleanliness: As others have noted, there are mouse droppings EVERYWHERE!!! I had to throw a number of items away due to this, and am still feverishly cleaning and disinfecting anything I've brought into my new home. I understand that this is a warehouse, but it seems as if they do nothing to combat the rodent issue. In addition to the rodent issue, the bathroom sinks barely have any water pressure to wash your hands, and there are never any paper towels. 3. Pricing: Despite the cut hours, despite the rodent problem, they still manage to justify increasing the cost every year. Do yourself a favor, and utilize a pod type storage facility. It may cost more, but at least your belongings will be better protected. read more

This place is great! The staff is very courteous and professional. I was actually one of the lucky individuals whose units got broken into by a burglar. The district manager called me immediately and kept in touch closely to get the whole issue resolved. They also gave me a free lock! This location is very convenient, right off of route 93 on a busy road, very hard to miss. I will definitely be using you guys for storage again in the future. Thanks! Current Review 3/22/18: They changed owners and names a few times. They no longer clean the facility or maintain the elevators and the rates just keep going up repeatedly. Today was the last straw for us--they reduced the hours and close at 6pm. We made it there (in Boston traffic on a week day before 6pm and they locked us in, despite our car being visible. Go literally anywhere else but here. Old review: The facility is new, clean, and well cared for. The storage is climate controlled and the building does not appear to have any rodents, pests, or water damage anywhere. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. They provided me with information and accommodated my requests. The transaction was quick and there was no pressure to purchase any add-ons. The locks used here are specialized barrel locks, which you purchase at the time of rental; don't waste your money on a lock before you lease the unit. The facility has security cameras, concrete construction, fire insulation, and fire sprinklers. The elevators are in excellent condition and carts are available to move heavy items. Parking is a little tight, especially when people are using large trucks/vans, but it is workable. read more

And while you supposedly have access as early as 6 am you don't have access to push carts or the restroom anymore. Why? Because they don't trust the people renting storage space. Came back to my storage unit (on the 4th floor) after one year deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and there was mice feces in all four corners of the unit. Brought it to the attention of the office and they acknowledged that it was a known issue. They assured me that they are handling it by placing mice poison packets in each unit. I took the gentlemen up to my unit and showed him there were in fact none. After asking why they do not inform customers if it is a known issue, they kept repeating "it is a warehouse, mice can be expected". I made the switch from ExtraSpace Storage which I have used for nearly two years (over the flux in pricing - but that is for another review). *****WARNING THIS IS LENGTHY BUT INFORMATIVE***** THREE POINT FIVE STARS I was excited to see the $1 move-in cost for the first month. I needed to space to move my things by mid- September (but was flexible for even October). I made my reservation online for a 10x10 which cost $137.00 but the promo was applied (-$136) and an administrative fee of $22.00 was added. I was lead to believe "the cost to move in" would be $23.00. I did need to change the time I could come in, I was told that as long as I came in within 7 days after my order confirmation/reservations that it will be honored (it is 5 days later). So, I met with the Supervisor (who no longer works there) and ended up paying this: Unit #4XX4 (10x10 @ $159.00) - $44.87 [August 24th - October 1st] **Insurance (Mandatory) - $11.00 **Administrative Fee - $22.00 Cylinder Lock (Mandatory PLUS TAX) - $19.11 Total $96.98 I was offered to pay until the rest of the month plus the next month so I would not need to pay until October 1st, after that my bill totaled to $170.00 per month for the 10x10. In mid-October I ended up needing another unit and was shown the 5x5. Online (which I reserved) was for $74.00 but when I got to the counter I was charged $84.00 (two days later). I did receive a credit of $10.00 three days later but for the months after this was not adjusted nor was I going to call each month about it. Unit #4XX4 (10x10) - $159.00 Unit #4XX7 (5x5) - $84.00 **Insurance (Mandatory) - $11.00 Total $254.00 Luckily, both units could be covered under one insurance policy! Also, if you need another unit in the feature, you cannot get the $1 discount for a month to move-in. I was told that you can only be eligible for it if you do not have a unit open for at least 3 months. I have spent a lot of money, all these numbers thrown at me and fees for this and that. The representatives usually look like they do not want to be there (unless you're kind of attractive - maybe I'm wrong) but there is minimal conversation outside of pricing and up-selling. As of today, I remain on the 4th level with only one unit which is a 10x15 for $147 ($136.00 for storage unit and $11.00 for insurance). So, yes I did end up getting the original price I reserved although nearly 8 months later AND it is a bigger size! Now to the building... The office is open from 9am - 6pm and shorter hours during the weekend but the restrooms it seems to be open when the office is open. The access hours are 6am or 7am - 9pm, seven days a week. There are times that I arrived to drop something off or pick something up within my storage unit and it is chaos! There is about 8 parking spots (one for handicap) in front of the lot for general parking and behind the gate there is supposed to be space for 3-4 vehicles but when you have 2-3 large moving trucks, vans, trucks and cars on Thursday, February 19th or three weeks ago (May 14th) it is takes away from the quick trip you wanted to do. Broadway in Everett is a busy street as well plus there is no break in the street for Public Storage but there really should be! The only good thing is, the building is right after (or before) the light so you can see the changing of the light and people are usually kind in letting you turn quickly (mind you Broadway is two lines on both sides). That right elevator has too many problems... it seems to be not servicing fully every month. Hand prints, smeared whatever (once it looked like feces) all in the metal interior of the elevator draws concerns as well. There is no where you can throw out trash (little or small) on the property. If you are caught doing so, I believe they bill/charge you for like $70 or $110 as they had paper print outs near the elevators at one point. The security is a bit redundant. If the office is opened and people are in and out, the gate code is really only necessary, not the door to the building THEN the elevator up or door into the first floor (the elevator code I think they disabled but still). Now the website... I keep switching the stars from 3-4 but it will stay at a 4 because of the website which gives you information about everything. I enjoy being able to see my entire history of payments, the units I have opened and closed and being able to do auto-pay. About auto-pay, the funds come out on the 2nd (and you will not be marked late)... it is up to your bank and PS to clear the charge which is generally is by the 3rd. The location is convenient to where I live and work (1-2 towns over), Broadway is a newly paved road with a new housing development not too far. The storage unit is easy access. They will increase your rates overnight without notice. I spoke to Joe the property manger, and he had Pat the manager call me. Pat threatened me, and did not help at all. I have called Joe the manager back, and have requested Drew Berg the Area Director to call. They said I would be refunded, but have failed to do so. Facility has all essentials, secure access 24/7 and helpful staff during business hours. I thought I'd rent for 3 months and just completed a full year! District manager was very quick to respond to a move-out inquiry VM (mix up with the bill, as I forgot to inform them I have vacated) AND after checking my records, resolved the issue the same day!
