Ceiling.. everything gets covered in that stuff

I have been meaning to write a review on this place for a while. Price: I rented a 5x10 unit on 6/30/18 . The monthly price was $133 per month. I wasn't told or expecting the rent to increase randomly with short notice . 5 months later I got an email that my rent would go up to $166 beginning 12/1/18. 9 months later it went up to $214 starting 9/1/19 no increase in 2020 then jumped to $275 on 9/1/21. So it's more than doubled since I moved my stuff in. Access: you can only access your unit from 9:30 am- 6pm. There is a gate with a code. If you are parked inside the gate after 6pm you won't be able to get out. Which I did not know on moving day and had to leave my truck in there over night. Parking : Only a very small lot that could fit one large moving truck or two small ones at a time. If you go with a truck and a big one is already there you will be out of luck. There is a second small lot for cars outside the locked gate ,only fits maybe about 6-8 cars. They also have a limited amount of moving carts with wheels to bring your stuff up maybe 3 or 4 for the whole facility and two elevators. My unit: there are these beams on the ceiling and 2 in my unit that have some sort of plaster on them that regularly crumbles , everything in my unit is covered in a film of grey plaster crumbles and dust. My clothes and shoes are also covered in it every time I leave. A few months ago when I was moving some furniture out I found a dead mouse in my unit, mouse dropping all over and dead bugs. They told me to contact the insurance company. Who then wanted to know what was damaged and asked me to send receipts of purchase for any item that was. (Not really damaged but just gross in there) I threw out a mattress that I was storing. I've been putting it off for too long but my plan is to downsize over the next month and keep my seasonal items in another facility. Just wanted to save someone else the hassle by writing this review

RAT INFESTED

Moved out of the facility today and noticed rat droppings on the floor. As we started moving boxes we saw rat droppings all over my boxes and wrapped furniture and mattresses. There were other people moving out who said yes they see rats in the facility. I decided to throw out my furniture I don't want to bring vermin into my home. On top of the four legged rodents one of the two elevators were broken. Do yourself a favor do not put your belongings in this storage facility. See my attached pictures.

Very nice very easy, Harry was beyond helpful and even helped me before they opened. I had an emergency move bc my basement has a leak.

As a first-time renter and someone who is not local, I was calling to get information about short-term storage for my child's summer dorm move-out. Unfortunately, the property manager I spoke with was impatient and dismissive throughout the conversation, repeatedly saying "oh my God" in a way that felt disrespectful. The call lasted less than 10 minutes, yet I was made to feel like my questions were an inconvenience. To make matters worse, I was quoted a higher price for the same size unit than what was advertised on the website, and I was told that no written or formal confirmation of the total price was available. Because of the poor customer service and lack of transparency, I decided not to move forward. If this is the experience at the inquiry stage, it's hard to feel confident trusting this facility with my belongings.

So if you were ever late for rent they will call you as a very next day and harass you. Rent is due on the 1st I got to call on the 2nd. When I moved in I was asked for a emergency contact number which I knew was unnecessary but they insisted. I gave them a non-working number. Thank God because if I had given them an actual number they would have been harassing my relative as well. This is a shady organization stay away you have many other options for storage unit.

Update: I've been there for a year now and they have twice…read morenow attempted rate increases of over 80% and forced me to argue my way down. I'm paying double what I agreed to pay when I first moved in and that's AFTER talking my way down (which by the way they'll absolutely do, despite what they say, if you just get aggressive enough). The district managers are complete cowards about it and are so desperate not to get on the phone because they know it's indefensible. Also in the year I've been there, minus the day I moved in I have never once: - Actually had anyone at the physical location answer the phone - Seen anyone physically in the office - Seen anyone who works there actually doing anything that needs to be done - Showed up and found the handcarts where they're supposed to be and not just scattered all around the facility - Opened my unit and not found things randomly knocked over (don't have a clue what goes on there all day but it's enough to damage your stuff) - And the manager, to this day, has never said a single word to me about the month I spent chasing them over the first rent increase (partially because he's never actually on site and partially because he's a coward) Do not rent with these people under any circumstances. This is the least clever grift anyone could have come up with.

(Focus specializes in piano moving, and I needed my childhood piano + a few other miscellaneous items transported from Massachusetts to New York.) Owner Liviu responded to my initial quote query (which was competitive) nearly immediately and within the hour confirmed he'd be able to meet my timing needs, despite the holiday season. Furthermore, though I provided a 5-6 day window, he offered to complete the move on MY ideal date. Sweet. What was great about the move itself? My mom indicated that Liviu and his right hand man showed up at her home at the exact appointed hour and that they carefully packed and protected all of the items that were to be trucked. In fact she let me know that Liviu and crew "were the best movers" she'd ever used and that she'd be using them for her own upcoming entire-home move. A bold statement, considering she's moved a LOT. Liviu was also a fab communicator. He kept me informed of his whereabouts via text message, sent email reminders and arrived on time at my delivery location as well. Additionally, Focus stuck to its quote (and then some, as Liviu delivered a couple of other less heavy items on the house without a quote adjustment), damaged nothing in transit and carefully yet swiftly manned my heavy upright Yamaha into its new abode. I was referred to this mover by the MIT furniture exchange. They said that YourMove was excellent…read more I was happy about this, because it is always great to find a good mover! What happened over the next week and a half was discouraging. I told them that I had a very restricted schedule (because I am a teacher). I cannot leave classes just because I have movers coming over. We tried to find a time, but it was hard. Eventually I asked my boss for a favor so I could get a time that would work. He let me out of a faculty meeting. This was a big favor. I worked hard to meet these movers halfway! But then on the day of the move, the movers called to say "Hey, we're done early today. Can we come to your place now?" It was TWO HOURS BEFORE THE AGREED TIME! I had to teach my class! What the hell? Who do these people think they are? I should leave work two hours earlier than OUR AGREED TIME just because it was MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS? I tried to reach the dispatcher, Judy. I called her twice, but she didn't pick up. She claimed that she called me twice, but my phone said she hadn't. My phone ALWAYS picks up the missed calls. Her movers were certainly able to reach me via the same number. Judy said that she COULDN'T SEND THE MOVERS AT THE AGREED TIME BECAUSE SHE "DIDN'T WANT THEM WAITING AROUND FOR TWO HOURS." She said that over EMAIL. WHY ARE HER SCHEDULING ISSUES MY PROBLEM? It is not my problem! A DEAL IS A DEALl! I CALLED IN A FAVOR FROM MY BOSS SO I COULD BE THERE AT A TIME CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS, AND THEN THEY DON'T SHOW UP??? Too bad, favor wasted, because YOUR MOVE MOVERS DIDN'T WANT TO DO THEIR JOBS. When I talked to Judy on the phone, to her credit, she apologized tepidly. But she also said that nothing could be done about it. She made it seem like SHE was doing ME a favor by agreeing for such a late move time (4pm to 5pm). "Movers start early. The work hard and they finish early." She said she worked really hard to find a time for me, she really did me a favor. Great, that would have been nice IF THEY HAD SHOWN UP. You said 4-5PM, BE THERE AT 4-5PM! AND DON'T ACT LIKE YOU ARE _DOING_ME_A_FAVOR_BY_DOING_YOUR_JOB! Who do these people think they are? I cancelled my order. I will not be using them. I will be using someone else. This is flabbergasting, unacceptable. I can't hand over money to people who do such a miserable job with their customer service. Use someone else, someone who actually cares about their customers. Judy lost my sale, and broke a promise just because she can't schedule properly and because she didn't want to have her movers "sitting around for two hours" because she didn't have anything scheduled for them. Maybe she saved money by doing that, but she made me a furious fucking customer. I will make sure none of my friends ever use this service. Nice job, guys.

I am about to use this company for the FOURTH time. They…read moreare consistently kind, cautious, and quick. Two of these moves involved a piano. Yes, a piano, and it was a great success. Also they are a reasonably priced, small, local business, and this shows through in my interactions with the owner and his employees, which is a very good thing. I could not ask for a better experience! I am reviewing them now, before an upcoming move, because I am a jerk who promised them a great review after my last move and forgot to do it.
