When I noticed (too late), he tried to blame my miscommunication (apparently pictures aren't specific enough?), tried to fix it, and then tried to pay for it (I didn't let him). Last minute haircut time and I'm in the kendall area. I needn't drive west and sit in traffic for an hour. My maps app showed this fine establishment and I was pleasantly surprised with the short wait time on a Friday. I was instantly greeted by Irene at the front who had superb customer service skills. Had great experience here. Have been seeing it for a while since I'm usually in the shopping center and figured I'd give it a try. So I had the opportunity to visit Primos Barber shop. So I asked for a skin fade, and a shave. The barber did a good job with the fade but the shave was not a hot shave and the mustache was higher in one side then the other. When I go to pay they charge me $50 dollars. I come from New York and not even in NY I pay $50 for a fade and a shave. Last time I paid $50 dollars at a a barber shop the service was out of the world. Hair cut, hot shave, nose hairs and they even gave me the black mask. But for a skin fade only no hair from the top and a shave that is not a hot shave $50 dollars is insane. This barber shop is unlike any of the other barber shops in the area. As soon as you walk through the doors you are greeted by a receptionist and offered a complimentary beverage. They even have an app to book your appointments in advance with any of their incredibly talented barbers. Personally I get my haircut by Lou but from what I've seen all of the other barbers in the shop are equally as skilled. One of the other things that separates this shop from the rest is that after you get your haircut they also wash and style your hair for you so you don't have any of those annoying itchy loose hairs on you while you drive home. I have about 5 barber shops within a few blocks of my house but I travel 15 minutes to primos because the experience is worth it. Other barber shops should take notes. read more

I was looking for a place to trim my beard and I found Primos here on yelp. I did not have an appointment and it was pretty busy, but they took me immediately which was great. It's in a prime location and the atmosphere was welcoming. Ellky did my trim, and she did a great job. He had the opportunity to be with Alexis (I think that was her name), he was apprehensive since he hadn't had a REAL haircut since being in the military for 6 years. Came in on a Monday evening after work; needed a beard trim badly. I was starting to look like a Neanderthal. When I walked in, I knew this was a quality barbershop. Not your run-of-the-mill franchise, retailer/barbershop. This place was really clean, and welcoming. It felt like the good barber shops up north. Quickly at the front desk I was greeted and offered bottled water, cafecito, or other beverages which is unheard of in Miami. I took a water bottle. I could tell the service wasn't rehearsed, but genuine. The front desk man not only had a cool beard but he was hospitable and attentive. This is all prior to my cut. So far two thumbs up. I was showed to Tony at the back for my beard trim. This is where I was really going to tell if the barbershop had talent. Tony was very straight forward and professional about the cut. It wasn't like other barbers they will get on phone calls or start long winded conversations with other people in the shop while you're sitting on the chair. Tony did an amazing job, my beard was symmetrical, my shave did not bleed, he advised on beard products but did not oversell the stuff; overall very pleasant. I will go to Primos from now on. I was looking for a barber shop nearby that would do a good job wirh beard shaping & trimming. After reading reviews in Yelp, I found this place and drove right over with no reservation. I was warmly greeted by the owner, Danny (also a nicely bearded fellow). Asked him if they did beards, and he said, "of course. We can do anything you want." He gave me some great tips on beard grooming and maintenance, which I frankly had no idea about. This place is an upscale barber shop. The barbers/stylists also speak perfect English, so communicating was no issue. In fact, it was quite a joy. Danny set me up with Elkie (not sure how to spell her name). She was welcoming, warm and gracious and a great conversation while she worked her magic on my hair and beard. I'm hooked. I found my new barber shop. The old school feel makes me feel comfortable but there's a new school vibe twisted in with TVs showing the UM game. Everyone is very professional and polite. I took some other yelpers advice and made an appointment with Andy for my cut. The guy is a pro and gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Drinks offered on arrival is a nice touch, great espresso! The chairs recline into the washing sink for a shampoo after the cut, no need to get up and change seats. Now I understand what the hype is all about. First of all, their customer service is not only outstanding but non existent in the Miami barbershop scene (I've had my share of barbershops having quite a few younger brothers). We immediately felt welcomed and taken care of. The owner greeted us with such class and tact it was amazing. Last but not least Andy was the cherry on top. He was so great and patient with our baby. She is nothing short of amazing. She always listens to our requests and asks us what style we want instead of assuming it's the same as usual. She always treats my son so well, she even brings him little surprises here and there when she knows we're coming. Coming to this barbershop is such a pleasure instead of a chore. They offer refreshments while we wait and they always give my son (& sometimes my husband) a lollipop at the end of the appt.
