I've been pretty dissatisfied with Primo's Restaurant in Flowood, MS I've had two bad experiences within the last month. First I had a chees burger order that come without dressings. Who in the world would order just meat and bread. If I made a mistake in the order it probably due to navigating the website. Difficult. Stop selling the chef salad. The dish does not represent a chef salad. I should know, I'm a very good cook and has worked in catering. Maybe some changes are due. Re-evaluate the cooking staff and the "chef salad." I see some of the reviews on the people behind the counter not being very nice - but I have had nothing but great experiences in Primos and its one of my favorite places to meet someone for breakfast with their private booths. I would give Primos, as a whole, 4 stars. The food is great. The vibe is pretty good. The bathrooms are nice. But I can't because of just one thing. Unfortunately, the bakery counter help makes me want to run out of there and never come back. Every time I've enjoyed my delicious meal, I wanted one of their amazing cookies or petit fours. In my mind, a bakery worker is jolly and nice. Why wouldn't they be, handling all that decadence in their hands? Well, the bakery workers at Primos act like they'd rather be shot in the face than deal with the public. They roll their eyes, don't crack a smile, and do not answer questions regarding their products. They get your stuff, ring you up, and walk off. It makes me sad. If I could go in there and eat without being tempted to get something from the bakery, I would. But I can't and every time I go in there I vow it'll be my last. I guess I could get someone else to go in and get me something from the bakery, if they could deal with such poor customer service. But it'll probably make them sad too. Hopefully one day they'll have people that actually act like they at least like life and aren't completely miserable working there. I'm holding out hope for that one. read more

Fried chicken perfection achieved! The blue specials here are consistent and usually delicious! The service is great, although having to order at a counter and juggle your own drinks seems to be difficult for some of their customers. Wine would be a welcome addition. Great for lunch. They serve breakfast all day too. They have a very nice bakery for cookies, cakes, brownies etc too. Save room for dessert; it's worth it. You order at counter and take a number to your table where they bring the food to you. They have Pepsi products fountain drinks along with tea etc. they have daily lunch specials with Thursday being the turkey and gravy with sides that you can choose from likes veg, potatoes, macaroni etc. read more

Whenever I have doctors' appointments out Lakeland Drive, I treat myself to either breakfast or lunch at Primos. Besides the fabulous food, the whole Primos experience brings back dear memories of my grandmother taking me to the old Primos on State Street ions ago. If you're the mood for good, ole Southern fare that is as reliable as the Mississippi River emptying into the Gulf, this is the go-to place. I only wish they still served Trout Almondine like "back in the day." read more

We came for the cheesy grits -- and we were NOT disappointed. Fluffy, delicious, creamy perfection. Yum.

The food isn't great. But, it's quality and that makes up for any shortcomings. If you're looking for a good bite to eat in the area, this place is place a must check out. I docked it one star for the pitiful excuse for yogurt. We ordered the yogurt and granola and received a plastic yoplait and a bowl of granola. Which is fine in itself and even great for togo orders. But, I feel they could easily dress it up in a parfait glass and save money by buying yogurt in bulk or make it themselves. read more

Came in for lunch while in town for work. It has a super cute interior, classic diner. The lady who took our order at the counter was very friendly. The restaurant was packed, but the staff kept an upbeat happy attitude. I ordered the crab cake salad. I was happily impressed. It looks like a simple mix of greens, but the dressing was amazing and complimented the crab cakes well. My bf ordered a shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries. He said it was yummy! I had visited Primos in Ridgeland several times with great results. I recently had lunch at the Flowood location and was very disappointed. I ordered a reuben with onion rings and my partner ordered a salad that the menu said came with a vinaigrette dressing. My reuben was delivered with a cup of gumbo and my partner's salad came with ranch dressing. We had wondered why the total was so high when we ordered but our receipt did not show what was ordered. I complained and they apologized and refunded the difference. Errors were made by cashier taking order, not the kitchen. Disappointing. read more

Crab cake salad was tasty, but the cakes were a bit cold and the wait was long. Gumbo was good. Service was friendly.

I've had the breakfast here a couple of times. They have really good creamy grits. My favorite item to get here is the strawberry cake. It really is super duper good! I've never eaten inside though. I've always gotten the food to go. Get the strawberry cake. it's so good!! read more

Very nice place to go to when you're hungry for lunch. The blue plate special that they have is one of my favorite on the menu. They also have a variety of desserts to choose from but I am most fond of the chocolate chip cookies. Also, I'm never disappointed when it comes to their friendly service and their great atmosphere. I have been getting the gingerbread men at Primos Restaurant for the past 53 years. The cafe is good, but you must definitely check out the bakery. The bakery has a wide selection of other delectibles, so if the gingerbread men are sold out (which can be a problem if your timing is off), there are other choices like lemon squares, pecan cookies and cakes, but none are quite as special as the gingerbread men. The gingerbread men have been consistently special for the past 53 years -- a few raisins for eyes, mouth and buttons and the perfect thickness of the head and body so that the cookie is not crisp but not overly soft and crumbly. The unfortunate thing about Primos is that it's not always open when I'm passing through on my four-hour trek from Ponchatoula, LA, to Noxapater, MS. Primos is not open on Sundays. Primos has good food, good service and clean restrooms. Primos has free wi-fi too! However, if they are out of gingerbread men at the time, I might just head on down Hwy. 25. For me, it's all about the gingerbread men. read more

In Jackson for 24 hour looking for a good place to eat. Stumbled upon this place on the way back to the airport. Bills itself as southern food for city folk. There is definitely a wide choice of "southern" food. I had grilled shrimp which were tasty but a little salty. The collards were also good but a little salty. The cole slaw was vinegar based and quite good and the sweet tea made with Splenda was also good. Overall decent but a bit heavy on the salt for my taste read more

Stopped in tonight at Primo's on a recommendation. I had the Blue Plate Special which consisted of Chicken and Dumplings, Fried Broccoli, and Mac and Cheese. Totally enjoyed it. No one is ever going to beat grandmas chicken and dumplings, but this wasn't that far behind. Got the chocolate whopper cookie for desert and was also very good and fresh (extremely rich so id advise you only eat one!). I will definitely be back!!! read more
