Instead, the experience was so good they earned the right to keep our son one more year before heading off to Orchard. There were lots of little things I appreciated about his experience here: 1 - Healthy eating! Emily and her staff were consistent in their message that kids need healthy snacks and this fits well with my personal belief we are what we eat. My son came home asking for broccoli! 2 - Geography and pin poking - This is a Montessori activity that I didn't know anything about until his experience. My son completed a map of each continent, opening the door to talking about those areas of the world and what they do there, eat there, sing there, etc. We still have these maps up in our home and use them as a reference when talking about areas of the world. 3 - Reading and singing - Scott coming and playing Rudi music on Wednesdays was a highlight for my son. When he started there, my son wasn't sure about himself or going to school and Scott's music brought out my son's personality and helped give him confidence and joy for singing and learning all the new words, sounds and days that came with those songs. He really started his love of reading here, too, which I appreciate as an avid reader. 4 - Behavior growth - My son really thrived in a time where learning those social skills, learning how to manage your emotions, learning appropriate responses to others in those situations, etc. because of the guidance at this school. I very much recommend this school as a solid choice for helping your young child get started on the right foot for their education.

If you're like me, you do your research when looking for child care for your baby and I hope that I can add some value to that searching mama or dad! We recently moved from Chicago and had an amazing school for our little boy. It was one of the harder parts of leaving, knowing we had to take him away from there. Fortunately enough, we found Ms Amy and Ms Emily at Goddard of Carmel ( Westfield). We looked into a lot of schools in the area and felt this was the most like his other, but also felt the warmth when you enter the school. The school is full of vibrant colors and children's artwork, and all the staff says hello as you walk the halls. We've now been there for 2.5 months and I still feel like we've made the right choice. My son loves his teacher, Ms Sara, and she has truly made his transition so smooth. If there is ever a day that he just needs a little extra love, she's the first to pick him up and snuggle or chat with him. I can tell by her interactions, hellos and goodbyes, with the children, that she truly cares for them. Of course, there is the curriculum side as well that you're likely interested in, if you're looking into a Goddard. My son has learned so much in the short 2.5 months he's been there. He has a new song, new words, putting sentences together, asking real questions, almost every day! They have so much outside play as well! I'm slightly concerned about the winter and how much outside time they will get to burn off the energy, his past school had an indoor gym- I think we'll miss that part a little! We really do love the school and my son does too! I'd absolutely recommend it and plan to update this in the future when/if we should ever leave!

He was able to count to 100, memorize the 50 states, memorize and spell all the planets, share, and he learned to sit still for longer periods of time like for story time. He got sick much less often than other preschools we tried. Everyone was friendly all the time. My son said his teachers were always happy. When we ever had questions or concerns we were met with a happy director and assistant director who would bend over backwards to be sure our needs were met. We had the same teacher the whole time. Although we are not members of the non denominational church, I am enticed to try it out because of the caliber of the preschool. They focus on creative play, arts/music, and take great field trips. They do amazing art projects and get involved in the community with firemen days, etc. My two sons have been loved and nurtured in beginning their educational journeys; I am SO thankful we found St. Peters, it nearly brings tears of joy (my oldest son had some poor early experiences elsewhere). And finally the price, IMO, is quite affordable. I think nearly all of the staff hold B.S. degrees and many have earned master's. You can see each day, how they love their jobs and the great culture they have developed. This is a place you want your child to be.

My daughter in love has also worked here. I can't wait for my grandbabies to attend someday. As a boss Deb is top of the line, she's always there for us in anyway she is able. She cares about us like her family. It's not often a week goes by that she hasn't given us some sort of treat or gift to let us know we are appreciated. Only concern is the parking lot and drop off and pickup.. it is extremely hectic and many parents tend not to pay attention very well.. as long as you take your time it's fine.. I do wish they had a better drop off policy where the kids stayed in the car and teachers escorted them into class..
