In my experience, favoritism is obvious and many students are treated unfairly depending on who they are or who they know. Bullying is a constant issue, and instead of stopping it, it often feels ignored or brushed off. Students get made fun of regularly, and it creates a toxic environment where people don't feel safe being themselves. Fights happen almost every day, and there doesn't seem to be enough done to prevent them or handle them properly. The lack of consistent discipline makes things worse, because students know they can get away with bad behavior while others get punished unfairly. Instead of feeling like a place to learn and grow, the school feels stressful and hostile. Overall, Osbourne Middle School needs to seriously improve how it handles bullying, student safety, and fairness. I left Norcross high school because of the way I was treated in my band class. Mr. G was first of all a very strict teacher who praises the students who are perfect have good grades and a good home life which is not what you first think of when picturing an ideal teacher. When he first started working at Norcross many students found his twitter and the multitude of dirty and downright disgusting tweets. Which made me very weary of him from the beginning. He would be very rude to students including me and my friends trying to reprimand us at every opportunity. I was not one of his favorites or Even a student he liked. I had a rough life at home and would often times skip school but I was trying to make an effort to go while my time at Norcross was getting closer and closer to an end. I have generalized anxiety and depression so going to school was very hard. And when I would show up to classes days in a row Mr. G would make the class clap for me saying " we have to get to work Sela's here for a second day in a row" and often times call me out in front of the entire class and before I left Norcross my counselor tried to get a meeting with my teachers together and my band teachers refused to attend and I ultimately left the school to do online.
