With my son being a freshman and not familiar with the private school life, a lot of things caught us off guard and overwhelmed us but from Mr. Clark (president and CEO) to Ms. Carter (Principal) to the administrative staff to the teachers, everyone has been patient, informative and understanding. My experience has been nothing but top-notch! Best private school in the area! Oh yeah, the football team is the BEST! So if your child is an academic kid, don't sent them here because they favorite athletes, bring there grades up, etc. and even then they don't paid for their track field. 2.they do fundraisers, but only for their selves. Not for other churches, homeless people, etc. as Christian's we should donate to our neighbors and care for others. We even have to pay for our own parties, food, etc. all this money and they can't even paid for us. 3. Most teachers teaching was slow because most students would act up and hold our education hostage. And some teachers only give us assignments once a week and nothing else. Even high school, I was in eighth grade, but felt like I learned more than the ninth graders when I was in 7th grade. Because even their work looked very ez. 4. Clubs: they don't have that much to offer for again, academic kids 5. Rules: they have stupid rules like not having your phone in your pocket. Like that just wild. Or other rules like can't wear a RIVERDALE jacket in school. It ruins the point of having it. 6.lunch: now the lunch is good, but fast food everyday is not good, especially for a mostly sports school. One time there was this teacher who just came and like after 3 days she thought that she ran the whole school. She would boss people around and tell kids her own rules that did not follow the school. There was also a parent who came as a recess teacher and she was telling everybody what to do. She told my class when we were in line treat me like how you treat your parents but some kids don't treat their parents that well. Plus, SHE IS NOT OUR PARENT. and all we did to her was just turn around and she said that we were disrespectful. The 2011-2012 years was the peak of this school. The basketball team were 3 peat champion, teachers were good, and student life was balanced. I have a sister who graduated in 2016 & a cousin who graduated in 2020 at this school and it has really gone downhill. Lot of gang fights, bomb threat to this school, and the environment turning very ghetto. This place now sucks and I wouldn't send my kids here in fear for their lives.

We have had multiple people tell us NOT to enroll our daughter at Northwood however that turned out not to be an option. We enrolled her this week after several weeks of trying to circumvent the system a bit and I have to say that the atmosphere and people at Northwood are very comforting and welcoming. The school was closed for 25 YEARS and this year was only the 5th graduating class since re-opening. It is a small high school of only 1400+ students which is a good thing and we are thinking positively and looking forward to a good year. The counselor that enrolled us took a lot of time to talk about our student personally and try to fit her schedule to her in ways that would make her feel comfortable coming in as a new student which was a very unexpected and personal touch. Not at all bureaucratic. Only time will tell but our initial impression is positive!
