When my laptop unexpectedly crashed and having not been great at performing regular backups, I was really worried about how much data I might have lost and had almost given up hope of getting some of it back. Responsiveness - initially I went on to Best Buy's site and they told me the earliest I could make an appointment in any of the 3 stores in a 20 miles radius of me was in 5 days. Ted responded to my voicemail within an hour, was in ideal contact with me throughout, picked up everything from my house and dropped off a completely recovered hard drive (no lost data whatsoever!) 2.5 days after I initially called him. Trustworthy - in an attempt to save me money and time, Ted actually recommended I try an alternative vendor to diagnose my issues. He literally was going to give his own business away because he felt I would be better served that way. I would trust getting Ted's opinion on anything IT related after that experience. In addition, Ted made some recommendations to me to better protect myself in the future. He genuinely seemed to want the best for me. Value for money - Having researched Best Buy and their fees - I consider I got amazing value for money from Ted for the level of service and the fact that I lost no data. At a minimum, Ted was 50% of Best Buy's rates but I feel Best Buy would have charged even more and remember, I couldn't even get an appointment with them for 5 days. Overall - I will use Ted again in a heartbeat - I have peace of mind knowing I have someone I trust who I can call upon not just in times of crisis but also to hopefully avoid a crisis even happening in the first place! Princeton Computer Repair is the best! I had a Dell notebook computer circa 2003 running Windows Vista (!). The notebook contained many family photos (among other data) that I had never backed up. (Stoopid, but life intervenes) When I tried to back these up recently using a Vista-compatible version Seagate Backup Plus, I could not get past an error associated with the Dell internal HD. Ted replied to my initial email inquiry in a timely manner. He called and discussed the problem with me. His mastery of the subject matter and understanding of the problem were obvious. We scheduled a time for him to pick up the computer the next morning at my home. Ted was early for the appointment and provided his ETA via text. He was professional and took custody of the notebook and external HD. Later that same day, Ted was able to access the photos and other data and copy them to the external HD. He called to tell me that he was done and scheduled an appointment to return the computer and external HD. I told Ted that I could not be home when he wanted to return the computer. No problem for Ted! He brought the computer to my son's hockey practice! Moreover, he waited 30+ minutes for me because I was running late! And he did so with a smile! I called Ted to see if his computer repair services could help diagnose and fix my Dell Tower computer. His guidance, help, expertise, politeness, and professional services were exemplary. I'll be sure to bring my computers to him in the future! Here's why . . . After I explained the problem Ted suggested that I take and send him some screenshots of the error messages, information about my computer, and what I had done to try unsuccessfully to fix it myself. After emailing him this information he called me back with his findings and recommendations. He advised that the problem was unlikely to be a hardware issue. Rather a Windows 10 caused problem after an automated Windows update ran. He suggested that I contact Microsoft directly, explain my problem to then, and request their remote phone help to install a completely new version of Windows 10. I couldn't do this myself since my Dell computer came with a pre-installed version of Windows and I had no Windows license number. I called Microsoft and they quickly helped me to reinstall Windows 10 to recover my computer with no problems at all. I had backups of my data so I was able to reinstall all of my programs and security services too! read more

Excellent Experience!!! So happy! My computer wouldn't boot up, and Ted was able to back up my data. I was impressed not only with his technical expertise, but he was so was friendly, professional, exceptionally polite, and so easy to work with. I called Princeton Computer Repair because my computer was failing to load certain websites, websites that I had previously no other issues with. I had followed every single YouTube DIY video to try to fix the problem. Uncheck this, unmark this box, command prompt this, etc. I had even completely rebooted my computer back to FACTORY SETTINGS to no avail. The gentleman over the phone asked me a couple of questions and was just as perplexed as I was. Then he gave me a few quotes, told me they would pick up my computer, etc. He also did suggest that I also try just rebooting my parents (I was at their house at the time) router which sounded like the simplest, yet stupidest, solution to my problem. I contacted Princeton Computer Repair Service ON A SUNDAY NIGHT after a scare when I spilt some coffee on my MacBook. I got a response within about three hours, ON A SUNDAY NIGHT, and I was given an appointment to have my MacBook picked up the very next morning. Ted kept me informed throughout the entire process, and diagnostics were complete right around the time he predicted they would have been the night before. I had a very good experience with Princeton Computers. I called them for help after I spilled coffee on my Asus laptop--I called on a Sunday afternoon, not exactly normal business hours, and they still returned my call in less than an hour. During our first call, I explained my problem (coffee+laptop), and they told me they would look into the cost of fixing the computer and the price and availability of the necessary parts. They got back in touch on Tuesday--they suggested that, given this was a fairly new laptop, my best bet would be to ship it to the company for repairs. But (as I had no idea what that entailed) they walked me through the process. They explained who at the company to contact, how to package the laptop for shipping, and how much the process would cost. Last week my Macbook Air went belly up. Further checking revealed a S.M.A.R.T. hard drive error. Princeton Repair had the best reviews in my area so I contacted them. My 8:00am phone call was answered and (to my surprise they do DOOR TO DOOR pickup and dropoff free of charge) they picked up my computer 2 hours later. -First (after picking up the computer) they kept me up to date via text...which I love. -Second, they ordered the parts and promised the computer 3 days later, Thursday night or Friday morning. To my surprise they got it done early and delivered to my house Wednesday night. -Third, I was able to handle the payment via paypal (again, which I love). I contacted Princeton Computer Repair Service when my computer was paralyzed by a Windows infinite boot loop. I wasn't able to use my computer at all or access any of my files. I was terrified that I would lose all of my data, which was especially painful given an important looming deadline. When I contacted Ted, he picked up the laptop at 11 pm and successfully extracted and sent me the most important files for my deadline after midnight. Over the next few days, he was also able to reset my operating system to normal and was able to save all of the rest of my data, despite the fact that my hard drive turned out to be corrupted. The hard drive in my laptop died so I found this company online, and I was very pleased with the results. Ted picked up my laptop from my office on the day I called him, and he returned it the next morning (!!), with a new SSD drive installed and a copy of Windows like what was on my original drive. (Fortunately I had a recent backup of my files, so he didn't need to recover or reload my data.) The overnight turnaround was a lot quicker than I expected. I'm glad I decided to pay extra for a SSD drive (which runs much faster and cooler than the old hard drive). The overall pricing for labor and parts was reasonable in my opinion, and it was a lot cheaper and easier than buying a whole new laptop. (Hoping to get a few more years out of this one.) I had issues with my computer fans, and contacted Ted about them. He quickly confirmed my diagnosis, despite the relative rarity of my computer's manufacturer, and searched around for the parts need to repair it. These were only available at the manufacturer, so he shepherded my computer through the RMA/repair process, getting it shipped out the same day it broke. Through it all, Ted was super responsive, and went (IMO) above and beyond the call of duty. He also provided me with a stopgap loaner while I waited on my organization's bureaucracy for a longer term loaner laptop. My MacBook Air kept shutting down unexpectedly after 10 or 15 minutes of use. I spoke with Apple on the phone twice - they were very nice, but failed to identify or solve the problem. I finally went to the Apple Store where they stated the battery probably needed to be replaced, but the needed battery might be hard to come by. They suggested I leave it plugged in all the time or consider a new computer. I called Princeton Computer Repair Service. They ordered and obtained a replacement battery in 24 hours, then came out to my house the next day and exchanged the battery. My computer is now working fine. I can't rate them more highly!
