In October 2017 I needed a new computer. I decided not to go the online route and discovered Cyber Knight Computers. They were extremely helpful and gave me what I needed in that Windows 7 Lenovo. I also used them to upgrade my computer when it was needed. Cut to present day, October 2025. Microsoft said they were no longer supporting Windows 10. Since my computer was no longer upgradable, I went back to Cyber Knight with a Lenovo printout. Avrumi told me that he could do better than what I brought him and he did. I called ahead to see if my computer issue could be quickly fixed and got the rundown on store hours and upfront diagnostic charge. Finally made it to the shop and was very pleasantly surprised that the person who helped me over a week later remembered my call and was able to quickly fix my issue without my having to leave my laptop as I had anticipated. This is my second trip here. The first time, about 2 years ago, they were SUPER honest with me about the capabilities of my then-laptop. They could have charged me a zillion dollars to upgrade it but gave me cheaper recommendations. Which is why I brought in my new(er) laptop. First, to respond to the previous commenter: Yes, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and Cyber Knight now has an office manager! My husband and I have been customers of theirs since 2008. We have found them to have always been organized in the capacities that are most important. For example, they always immediately label all the computer parts when brought in, phone is almost always answered by a live person and when not, calls are returned promptly, estimates are given close to or before their time prediction and they stay in touch for any repair decisions. We both highly recommend Cyber Knight Computers and have referred friends and family members there. As with good auto repair, computer repair requires you have a trust-worthy and knowledgeable technician. We trust the owner and the techs at Cyber Knight to give give us honest and informed choices. They are not out to sell or make money by misleading. We have a computer that was custom built several years ago. Cyber Knight has helped us decide when it was worth it to replace parts or to invest in a new computer. The techs never attempted to pressure us; rather laid out the realities of the options. The owner Mike, has always been available for a second opinion, if desired. This past summer we chose to add memory in two components to match the way our computer was set up. It increased speed beautifully and it functions comparably or better than many newer computers. It took a knowledgeable tech to see that our old computer was actually designed to have high-end capacity and would benefit more with 2 smaller memories added than with one larger one. The slight price differential and accompanying advantages were clearly explained to us. (Though, not being a tech person myself, I've forgotten much of it, so please forgive any error in my attempt at explanation.) Cyber Knight has always given us fair prices for both repair and for purchases. We have a beautiful new monitor that cost less than from the major chains. What I find most valuable is the combination of high integrity and availability of the Cyber Knight employees. They regularly go above and beyond to help me out with small and large computer problems. The techs have given me a lot of extra advice at no charge with me calling and asking for their opinion. I feel that not only do we have a reliable computer shop to go to, but that I also have a team of experts to call upon when needed. (I'm hoping that they don't get bombarded from this comment.) Cyber Knight does service a lot of Rutgers Students, so at certain times in the semester there may be higher demand and a longer wait for service. Cyber Knight will also come to your home to service the computer there and that can be faster, but the hourly charge is higher. Even at their highest volume time, I've never had to wait more than 6 days to have my computer looked at and often it's been the next day. read more

I have known Mike for a while but never really had a reason to go into his store open till about two years ago. I am primarily a Mac user and there are not that many places around here that can service the Mac quickly or in the right way. One of my Mac's I brought it in because I believed the hard drive was going, he checked it out and I diagnosed it correctly. He put a hard drive and it got it back to me within a few hours and I believe the price was very fair for the call what turn around. I recently needed a new DVR for my camera system for my office and he directed me to a place to purchase one that was not him because the type of system I needed he would not have been able to get a better price on it for me. I mean come on who pushes you to buy from a competitor when he knows I would've bought from him regardless of what he told me because I do trust him. There's only two instances of how he's been able to help me out, I've dealt with Dennis who works there and the home visits he had to do at my work and home I just can't beat that or find that from any other computer store. read more

Great experience. They charged $59 for a full diagnostic work-up on my macbook pro that wouldn't boot up. They were fast and professional. Provided me all of the possible options for repair in a timely manner. Ended up fixing the issue for no additional charge while pricing possible replacement parts. Haven't done this review till today 'cause the system is running very well and I've been very busy using it, catching up on various projects. Both dropped off my machine & had a house call. I brought my husband's computer in here after my daughter puked on the keyboard. It was a MacBook from about five or six years ago, which turned out to be problematic. The owner was super nice and really wonderful with my daughter, unfortunately because of the age of the MacBook it was hard to find a part, so they ended up returning it without repairing it. The nice part, at least, was that the (reasonable) diagnostic fee was waived because they were unable to repair it. Had they actually been able to fix it I would've given five stars, sadly it wasn't in the cards. read more

I replaced my laptop's harddrive but could not get it to be recognized. Not only did Mike get it working, he charged less than the original quote. And that was after multiple mistakes I made which caused extra worktime. While installing the operating system, he applied all the updates. That saved me much time. I took my 2009 iMac into Cyber Knight Computers, located in Highland Park, NJ for a SSD installation. The process was very swift. I called before going in and spoke to Dennis. Dennis was extremely knowledgeable and we had a discussion over the phone regarding the process. He described the steps they will take to replace install the new SSD and told me the turn-around time would be quick. I dropped off my iMac on Sunday afternoon, and it was ready for pick up by Monday evening. Dennis gave me a prompt call on Monday letting me know everything is good to go. I highly recommend Cyber Knight Computers. The owner and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and sincerely appreciated my business. The staff gives you honest opinions and tell you what really needs to be done for your computer to perform optimally. They do not try and sell you on items that are unnecessary.
