As I'm prepping for another Kauai adventure to come I'm lovingly reliving some of the great memories from our experience in 2019. We did the day adventure that included kayaking, hiking, swimming, and zip lining. We went in April 2019 and it was one of our first adventures of our trip and definitely one of the highlights! The land is privately owned so the only way to explore this beautiful region is through one of their tours offered. There were other options of adventures but our selection felt best suited to our experience goals. It did not disappoint! They offer lunch and footwear gear as needed before the tour starts. The kayaking was quick but fun that lead to the hiking and zip lining. Overall it was a fun day, very basic skills needed so someone with no experience could definitely take advantage of this fun day. It was a great way to explore and learn more about the fun opportunities on the island. Beautiful landscapes, delicious lunch, helpful staff, all the good things!

Great spot for a visit; did a horse ride and waterfall tour. Group was small and intimate; no getting lost in the crowd, but plenty of space to spread out. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The ranch itself was beautiful with gorgeous mountain views and lush greens. They're ending waterfall tours after June 30, 21 but will continue equestrienne lessons. Would highly recommend. Shout Outs to Karin, Emily & Drake for being so amazingly helpful & courteous.

Just got back from a great day at Princeville ranch! My wife and I got engaged at the waterfall on this tour back in 96, so we wanted to go back with our son who's turning 10 tomorrow. Reservations were easy, and I called to confirm since I forgot it was Thanksgiving when I made the res. Got a call right back that they were open and ready to go on Thursday! Easy to find, very professional org. Walked in, got our paperwork done in 2 min, then introduced to our horses after a few minute intro. I've only done this a couple times and my son's first time on horseback. Princeville made sure to get us horses that were used to amateurs, we had no trouble at all. Our guide, (Emily?), Was great. She was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. My son was enamoured! The waterfall is as beautiful as we remembered, bit the hike was a little tougher this time. I'm sure it's the trail, can't possibly be that I'm older and fatter now... This is a great tour, and so worth doing. Nice to support a local business here on Kauai, and we look forward to our next trip

. Expansive view to the mountains of Kauai.

Beautiful ranch. I suggest if you know how to ride you go somewhere else. This was an expensive boring ride in the middle if the ranch. Nothing but walking allowed. No interesting terrain or a ride to anywhere interesting, like a waterfall, or whatever. Just a walk in a circle in the middle with expansive views. It is a very pretty place

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! This activity truly lives up to its name--"adventures." During our stay, we wanted to try something a little different than the typical water oriented activity. Our concierge recommended 4x4 Jeeping and it was well worth the price (we are returning patrons--my first visit was horseback riding with this company) The appropriate gear was provided by the company and we piled into our open air jeeps. I couldn't ask for better weather...it was a little rainy and the grounds had puddles all around--I was excited to get all dirty!! Miguel and his partner were fantastic guides! We went uphill and downhill, around curves and splashing in the mud puddles. Yes, we got a little dirty. It was worth driving in the rainy weather, the loud engine noise, the exhaust fumes! In addition to the jeeping, our trip included the ziplining and a swim in the watering hole (lunch break). It was great fun--my only wish is that we got a little dirtier with more mud splashing!

Had an absolutely amazing experience here! My boyfriend and I had Lucy as our tour guide and she's absolutely amazing. Her accent was the icing on the cake but her experience, knowledge and overall personality made this an amazing experience. Lucy made sure everyone felt comfortable and continually was checking in to make sure you were feeling okay. I can't wait to come back to Kauai and ride again and hopefully see Lucy again. The group was 5 including our guide and it great because you didn't feel overwhelmed and it felt very intimate. The views were gorgeous and the horses were unbelievable. I always felt safe and had such a good time. Loved that I could buy some gear as well as tip. Can't wait to come back! THANK YOU LUCY

#1 best day of my life ! Thanks Liberty who was our leader. 2 days before Christmas I gave the gift of a waterfall/horseback ride to my guy this year for Christmas and I ended up getting the gift of facing my fear ! He had ridden a few more times than I, and I had not been on horse for over 30 years! I was the first to get on my horse and my FEAR kicked in. After everyone else was getting on their horses I was contemplating on how to get OFF! I told my guy and Liberty I just couldn't do it I was scared to death on that horse but they both said to me, "Do not let your fear's take over you!" They were right and so I did IT! We rode a while then we hiked down to a beautiful waterfall, once we made it there we swam a little then had a nice sack lunch, then we hiked across the waterfall and up and over a 10 foot rock wall with help from a harness. I DID IT!!

    Such a fun adventure! Brappp!

We had such a fun day in the Ranch yesterday! Mahalo to our guides Josh and Troy, they were so fun! Kiera at the front desk was very helpful and able to book us into a tour (4x4 off road adventure) the morning of since our boat trip was as cancelled last minute. Our adventure began later in the day, giving us time to go find white shirts to wear for a true hawaiian souvenir (from the red dirt). The UTV's were so fun and the views and ride were awesome! I've never zip-lined before, and I was definitely scared, but Josh made me laugh with a lot of jokes and Troy was very calming, so soon I was having a great time! I am so glad I did it. Everything was 5 star, my husband and I will be booking again and you should too! Awesome that you can buy photos that they take too. Thank you for the best day! If you're lucky you'll meet jungle cats too!

Final zip...King Kong. Almost 1/4 mile long and the highest platform

Our guides, Jason and Mark, made our first sip lining experience fun, informative and safe. These two guys were amazing. They immediately remembered every single person's name in the group and they made the adventure about zip lining and so much more. They told us a little Hawaiian history, insider places to go, and pointed out so many interesting facts about the beautiful nature that surrounded us every second of the tour. The zip lining was so fun! I am a little afraid of heights, but I wasn't afraid at all, even on the highest ones. Jason and mark always reminded us where to look while zipping so we wouldn't miss anything. I would come back here in a heartbeat, and they have other cool things to do such as horseback riding. This is an awesome operation!

Our guides Derek and Mark made the experience particularly notable. I've done many ziplines with camps before (I'm a teacher that brings her students), but after awhile, often times the employee's zeal and energy runs low when they have to keep repeating themselves over and over. However, their jokes, travel tips, historical insight about the flora and vegetation, and constant checks for safety made the 4.5 hours enjoyable and memorable. It was their personality that allowed our group to feel super comfortable with one another within minutes. Side shoutout: I'm a teacher and am supposed to be good at memorizing names but these guys got it down SUPER fast. They remembered our names in a heartbeat and were extremely personable. Even if you've ziplined before, it probably won't compare to what Princeille Ranch offers as their lines are longer, higher, and definitely much more scenic. Thank you again, Derek & Mark!

Super crew! We went for the horseback ride and zipline tour- great guides! I love zipping and Go every time I am in the HI islands so I was really excited about the zipline part of the tour but when it comes to HORSES- scary! We had fun and entertaining young women who taught us basic commands for our mounts and made sure we were fully comfortable and competent to ride these gentle beasts through the beautiful pastures of Princeville. What a happy loving energy to feel that Kauai breeze and the tropical sun as you and your horse amble gently down the paths to reach the three zipping platforms. Don't be afraid to Zipline!!! We had 5 female guests of various ages on our tour who were really nervous and I kept telling them they were safe and would love it. They smiled at me skeptically and I just kept encouraging them to relax in their harness and enjoy the view because the guides do all the work FOR you. You don't have to worry about stopping yourself because the guides use ropes with blocks to stop you when you approach the platforms. The guides are also happy to snap any pics you'd like and also give you a list of great places to enjoy a meal or a sunset!

We went on the Zip Express and had a great time on the 9 lines they offered. The first line is pretty easy, and progresses to the last line that is over 1000 feet. The whole experience was super fun and our guides Mark and Omar were great. The group we went with was pretty easy. No one freaked out and no one had to be pushed off the edge. The views are amazing, so be sure to relax and look around you as you're gliding across. As a side note. I would not consider myself as small, but apparently small enough to not make it all the way to the other landing without some help. For sure they will get you to the other side, but just make sure you listen to their instructions at the beginning and you'll be fine. I didn't make it all the way on 2 lines, but one was the longest line they had. They toss you a rope that you hold on to and they pull you in. Overall, it was a great experience and would totally recommend this adventure.

There's a reason Princeville Ranch has such great Yelp reviews ... and that's because they have it figured out! You want fun? You want professionalism? You want a safe place to play for all ages? Well, then Princeville Ranch is there for you! My friends and I zip lined on our last day in Kauai at Princeville Ranch. If it hadn't been our last day, we would have returned from more of their offerings. (Oh well, next time.) They have all kinds of adventures (that aren't too crazy ... hence the "good for all ages"). We lucked out and got a smaller group for our zip line excursion so we had plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. Our guides helped facilitate that fun which made the experience even better. Each zip line was really well maintained and super safe (I've done some crazy stuff in Thailand and Costa Rica ... and let me tell you ... Princeville is SAFE. Seriously, the folks in my group were mostly in their 70's and with the safeguards at Princeville, it was really easy to "take off" and "land". SMOOOOOTH). The guides also made sure we understood everything we needed to do for for a successful zip-zip. They also made sure we didn't step in cow pies. Thank you for that! The facilities where you check in are nice as well. Parking is a cinch. Oh, and the restroom was super clean ... Very important! The whole facility is nice and well run. So, stop reading and just go do some stuff. Its a good place!

For those who did the ATV tour, how strenuous was the hike? My 65yo parents are worried. Thank you!

The hiking portion is about a half mile each way with a picnic lunch, time at the swim-hole, and the optional ziplines in between. The trail is relatively flat with short sections of steep incline and is considerate moderate. The terrain is uneven… Read more

The rum tasting also did not let us down. We sampled different flavors of Koloa Rum (the safari and the Rum Guys are unaffiliated with Koloa Rum, which had a separate tasting room and shop on site), followed by a Mai Tai and an additional fresh cocktail. While I'd like to start by noting the incredibly affordable tuition, it all begins with the wonderful people who run this ranch. Healing Horses has a humanitarian philosophy, and frankly, they need a lot of help running the show. The staff (all women, that I've met) are big fans of children, and you'll immediately trust their caretaking. We've had Iris in two camps thus far, one summer, one winter (yes, they offer classes during holiday break), and god willing we return to this island regularly, we'll keep sending her there -- it's honestly her favorite part of each trip. Classes consist of horseback riding, caretaking of the ranch and animals, and various projects, many artistic, held in a trailer -- important during the often rainy Kauai seasons. Kids run the gamut, locals and visitors, and for the city kiddos the programs offer invaluable lessons on ranch life and the work involved to keep things running. And oh, did I mention the cost? Fantastic. Tourists all over this island drop hefty cash to ride horseback, suckers. Here, it's an honest price for a truly memorable ride.

Then another, an hour before our departure. AND THE BOAT RIDE WAS GREAT. I was all smiles and adventure and breathing -in the ocean air and wind! Unlike, a few folks, who were NOT doing so well. (One or two barfed over the side, but thankfully I didn't notice. Know how your body handles boats and waves. Don't do tours like this, without proper prep. It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out.
