    I hired Scott to unlock some encrypted files from my old laptop that I forgot to unencrypt before…read moretransferring them. Scott showed up when expected, was very personable and solved my problem in less than an hour. He did not unencrypt the files on the new laptop. Rather he found a way of resuscitating my old lap top and transferring the old files without encryption. The important thing is that he solved my underlying problem, and I'm very happy with MS-I.

    I don't enjoy writing such negative reviews. I have to say though that this business did not…read moredeliver. I had an older MacBook Pro that needed a keyboard replacement. I called MS-I Consulting because it was close to home. I bought a replacement keyboard off eBay for $40. When Scott arrived, he immediately went to work... very gruffly handling my machine. He was spinning it on my kitchen table, nicked up the case pretty good with his metal putty knife, and the entire circuit board would flex as he over-applied pressure unscrewing the tiny screws holding components to the board. I was kinda stunned to be honest. I think he was trying to dramatize his disdain for Apple. For reasons unbeknownst to me he unscrewed the battery, unplugged the delicate keyboard ribbon, and tried to fat-finger the ribbon back into the connectors. This bent the ribbon heads and made it more difficult to brute force it in. Scott stopped at that point and said he didn't want to make it worse. Apparently he did want to make it worse. He haphazardly started reassembling the laptop (after I had to reinsert the keyboard ribbon myself). He screwed the battery back in, but failed to connect it first. Instead of backing out and reassembling properly, he left the battery screwed down and tried to bend the connecting piece back onto the board. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He slapped the case back on sans some unnecessary screws. The laptop will not turn on without being plugged in and I have a brand new keyboard still in the box. I called Scott to ask what I'm supposed to do with this. He asked me how much I paid for the laptop. I told him $400. He said, "well that's not too bad at least". Did I mention I paid him $25 for his troubles, in leaving me with a broken machine?
