AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COSTS…read more This veterinarian drew out supposedly "lifesaving" services for our dog for a full week. Days and days of being told to bring our dog in to the vet so they could administer supposedly lifesaving procedures. When there was no improvement after a full week of this, we took our dog to a different vet. This other vet immediately informed us that our dog had been in full kidney failure for probably the entire week and there was nothing more to be done. On top of that, our dog's pain and suffering had been prolonged for NO reason. When I asked the receptionist about this and whether they would be willing to settle with us on the over $1,000 bill, given the firm second opinion and the clear cut nature of what they had done (charged us, essentially, to prolong our dog's suffering, instead of being honest and transparent), I was met with rudeness and a real lack of compassion. I was told that because we did not "check in" every day (which is NOT TRUE-- I was on the phone with these people at least once a day while our dog was being treated) and because they "used their resources" there was nothing she/they could do. More like, there was nothing they were willing to do. There was ZERO kindness or understanding shown. This is an absolutely terrible way to do business, especially in a small town. I take my pets' health and well-being VERY seriously, which Is why this is so offensive. I have since shared this story with friends and have heard other horror stories regarding this vet which completely validated my experience. AVOID this vet -- go to Mile High (or anyone else who is conscientious!!!) instead. This veterinarian takes advantage of people who are willing to go to any length to save a beloved family member.

I was lucky enough to be able to get pick of the litter and selected a beautiful girl which I named Sasha. Carrie Bass and her husband have been the best breeders I have ever used and were so kind to offer pictures right after her birth and on Easter and again on Mother's Day. I also paid a personal visit at their home and got to meet the beautiful mother of Sasha and also hold Sasha in my lap where she promptly fell asleep. They offered excellent coaching on everything from potty training, to feeding schedule and recommended pet insurance along with recommended perfect health by NuVet Plus. What was most amazing although the doodles were only 5 weeks old, she had already taught them to sit!! I was also given as a gift a a snuggle puppy for my sweet Sasha. I can't say enough about how professional and animal friendly they are and can't give them a 5 rating because they really deserve a 10+. I feel blessed to have come across their path. We did no cancer treatments since it would not have been good for her physically other than giving her some pain meds........ Early one morning last July 2025 she unusually woke me up early and wanted to go outside and she just watched birds and nature for about an hour before she looked at me and I could feel in her face and eyes she was telling me it was time for her to leave us...... I called Shawna at Circle L Animal Hospital and asked if the vet could come to my vehicle and Shawna said "Of Course" and for me to call when we arrived... I parked as directed at the private door and Shawna came out immediately and talked with Patti for about 5 minutes and I could see that Patti bonded with her and then the vet came to Patti's passenger side of the vehicle... The Vet gave Patti a shot to tranquilize and immediately another shot for sleep .... Patti was gone almost immediately ..... It is never easy losing a pet but Circle L personnel treated Patti like their own and made a very difficult day as positive as possible...... I think it is important to know my experience with Circle L when you may have to make that very difficult choice.....

Bad luck on a Saturday, the busiest day for veterinarians, and we were out-of-towners to boot! After making a few calls, Verde Vet Hospital was kind enough to squeeze us in. The closer we got to appointment time, the better our dog appeared to be, but we went anyway just as a double-check and courtesy to the hospital. Dr. Gummo-Wagner could not have been kinder, and immediately focused on putting my nervous dog at ease. She carefully checked his foot and joints, and surmised it was most likely a fire-ant bite. We were a bit chagrined, but the good doctor and the staff told us they were glad we had him checked. If I lived here, would definitely take my dog to this vet and this clinic. Great experience for an out-of-towner! Thank you to the staff and good doctor!

We trusted Verde Veterinary Hospital with USDA export health certificates for our dog and cat for…read morean international move to Germany. That trust turned into a costly and stressful failure. The certificates were initially submitted to USDA with the wrong year, which made them invalid for endorsement. This error went unnoticed for an entire week, while our departure date approached with no meaningful update or communication from the office. The issue was only discovered on the day of our scheduled international departure, and only after persistent follow-up by our pet transport company--not the veterinary office. From there, the handling continued to fall short: The corrected certificates were not resubmitted until after 5:00 PM, costing an additional full day. Despite clear instructions from our transport coordinator, the office used FedEx Priority Overnight (10:30 AM delivery) instead of First Priority (8:30 AM guaranteed)--a critical difference given airline cargo cutoff times. This directly caused major travel disruption: one pet only made the second rebooked flight because the transport company secured a last-minute exception with Lufthansa after the paperwork arrived past the cargo cutoff. The other pet's paperwork did not arrive in time, forcing us to split up and rebook a third flight for the following day. We incurred significant financial and logistical damages: Missed international departure Multiple flight rebookings and change fees Extended hotel stays near LAX Rental vehicle extensions Additional baggage complications Family separation during an international move One pet made the flight only because of extraordinary efforts by the transport company. The other missed due to delayed paperwork. Communication from the office was poor throughout. Staff repeatedly indicated they could not act without the veterinarian, leaving us in limbo during a time-sensitive international relocation. Mistakes can happen--but failing to detect a critical submission error for a week, delaying corrective action, and then mishandling time-sensitive shipping is not acceptable when clients are relying on you for international travel compliance. I cannot recommend this practice for USDA export documentation.

Due to Hillside K9 Academy's owner's other business (Northern Arizona Service Dogs) not having its…read moreown Yelp page, I am posting my review here. Both businesses are located on the same property at 874 Industrial Drive in Camp Verde. The owner of Hillside K9 Academy, Shawn T., is the trainer for Northern Arizona Service Dogs. I entered into a Purchase Agreement (as the contract is titled) with Northern Arizona Service Dogs ("NAZSD") to purchase from them a trained service dog. I had issues with NAZSD from the start with them being non-responsive to texts, voicemails, & emails. The Purchase Agreement with NAZSD stated that they would provide a trained service dog & assist me with getting the dog to pass Public Access as per the criteria outlined by the Assistance Dogs International. Contrary to how it was explained to me during my initial in-person meeting with NAZSD, the promised individual training was minimal & the promised group training was never conducted. During the first month of having the dog in my custody, the dog began to have "house training" issues while in public business establishments. After both incidents I immediately notified NAZSD. After the first incident I requested to return the dog for additional training; however, they declined to take custody. After the second incident a week later, I insisted that NAZSD provide a replacement dog as per the contract. In spite of my several requests for a replacement dog, both verbally as well as in writing, my request was never acknowledged nor was a replacement ever provided. I subsequently requested a refund of my deposit (several thousands of dollars), but these requests have all been ignored. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau ("BBB") to which NAZSD responded by making numerous false allegations against me, including certain details of my private medical history. Unfortunately, I did not make a response in time on the BBB's web portal before the BBB closed the complaint. I was informed by the BBB that both my complaint as well as NAZSD's response would be posted on their website publicly. It was my original intention to acquire a trained service dog, not to acquire a service dog to be trained by myself. I have so far been unable to recover the thousands of dollars paid to them, nor has NAZSD delivered to me a trained service dog as a replacement for the original dog which they chose to retain. The have failed to fulfill their obligation under the contract, although they have refused to return my payment. As of this date, I have not been reimbursed & NAZSD has not delivered a trained service dog. I would NOT recommend Northern Arizona Service Dogs in any regard, for any purpose. Their business practices are extremely unprofessional.

If you were unqualified to adapt a cat here, which is what all these 1 star reviews are about, look in the mirror. Unqualified meaning, they're 85 years old and want a kitten (do the math), or they want a cat to "serve" a demented relative as sort of a mental stimulation for the relative, or they've had a history of taking a 10 year long pet to the pound because they "couldn't afford" some needed vet treatment, or they have a cat already and let it run around outdoors. Or Grandma wants a kitten to entertain a 5 year old. And so much else. You'll find shelters in Prescott that will give you what you want, regardless to whether you are qualified. The reality is that the bigger the turn-around the shelter has, the more adoption fees they can generate, and the more new cats they can give a chance to. It's a very very tough choice for a shelter and in some ways there isn't a right and wrong. All involved are well meaning. It's just that for this shelter, there's a personal attachment to all that have ended up here, and she (owner) has a commitment to them that involves adopting out only to a person/party that very likely will give this cat a long life of happiness. Come visit. I guarantee you will be shocked at the totally undeserved Yelp average review. This place is top notch.
