1st the Yellow cans are absolutely god awful looking. Eye sore to anyone driving by. But the main eye sore is the one they put on one of the oldest NHL jerseys there is! Also trash pickup isn't the cleanest. Debris is left around all the time. Thanks but no thanks smell ya later. Our Priority should be to remove priority. read more

Priority Waste demonstrates predatory practices in the execution of their business practices. They "acquired" our former waste company, Local Waste. Less than 6 months later they raised our disposal rates 20%. This increase was based upon fictitious data, basically their fuel surcharge was based upon 2004 prices. My neighbor was charged $76 for recycling & waste disposal, our cost would have been $82 for just waste disposal. Of course Priority Waste knows they have a virtual monopoly in our area, and have priced accordingly. My advice is to find another reputable company that respects your business and all senior citizens should beware. I would have given them a zero if it was possible. read more

This is a horrible company. If I could give negative stars, I definitely would. They have damaged my coral gate three times and give me a hard time when I want them to repair what they caused. Once, was their driver putting his truck directly into the gate; it was witnessed. The latest damage has not been repaired and I had to hire it fixed. They require payment in advance prior to their service being performed, and when they don't pick up for a couple weeks, good luck receiving a credit for services that they did not provide that were paid. That, along with their ridiculous price increases! They continue to raise their fees and their service declines. Avoid this company if at all possible. They are definitely not worth the aggravation that they will most certainly cause you. Calling their customer service is a joke. They never answer the phone and they don't respond to any messages. read more

My account was acquired by Priority Waste from GFL on 07/1/2024. GFL missed my last pick up on 6/28/2024. I called and emailed GFL a number of times and they still did not pick up my trash. I called GFL on 07/01/204 about the missed trash pick up and they said, "Oh, that is so unfortunate but we no longer provide residential service and your problem is now the responsibility of Priority Waste." I then called Priority Waste and they basically said "Too bad" that was GFL's responsibility and your trash will not be collected until 07/06/2024. I then called Duncan Disposal on 07/01/2024 to set up a new service/account and they came out the very next day 07/02/2024, picked up my trash that had been sitting there since 6/28/2024 and dropped off two new trash cans for me. Since then, I have been calling and sending emails to Priority Waste asking how I can cancel my account and receive a refund for the money that I paid to GFL. To date, they have not respond to my email messages and when I call they continue to tell me they will get back with me but they never do. So happy to get rid of Priority Waste as well as the unreliable GFL. read more

I canceled my service with these people on July 10th, I have been fighting to get a refund for the service that I had paid in advance for but never received.... Fast forward to October 1st I end up getting a bill for the next 3 months worth of service even though I fired this company... I've spent numerous hours on the phone, sending emails, reaching out via Facebook, reaching out via Facebook Messenger which I actually received replies from but apparently they never got the service cancelled or my refund.... Would not ever deal with these people again!!!!! The fact that I still have to deal with them and can't get through to anyone is frustrating. I have even requested the call back, You know instead of waiting online, leave us your number and we'll call you back. You won't lose your place in line, Guess what? I've done that four times and still to this day have not received a contact back.... This was a review I should have posted over row month ago. Ordered a dumpster and had to contact them again to "reorder" it. The staff seemed to not know how to do their job. Once we did receive the dumpster they didn't offer to put wood underneath it to not damage the driveway. So my conclusion is that there are way too many good places to rent dumpsters that I will not recommend this place to anyone. Regarding the staff they need more training on not only their job but courtesy when a client contacts them. I left numerous voicemails but have not had my call back. 5 days later and my yard waste is still not picked up. Called Monday morning, Monday evening, Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening & Wednesday morning. When I was told they would pickup today I asked what will be the difference between today and the last 2 and was told "today is today and yesterday was yesterday" "we are not in the truck and can not control when they pickup". Again they did not pick up my recycling. That is twice now. Not sure how they could miss it it's in a big blue bin marked recycling. Marked using their stickers. I emailed and called them regarding this. No response from them. They never picked up my recycling, not until the following week. Which when they did pick it up I found my container broken and in the ditch. I certainly would not recommend them for the pick up of refuse for your community. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. They are unreliable and when you call to tell them they forgot to pick up your trash it takes 30+ minutes on hold to reach a human. While you're on hold, they encourage you to use their unmonitored chat on their website. And don't expect a refund for failed pick ups. They are a joke of a business. read more

Worst company ever. Destroyed my driveway getting the truck stuck (new driver). Told me they would fix it in the spring. Called them and was told they aren't going to pay for dirt and rock not there problem. Also knocked my fence over in the process but they don't pay for wood fence either. I called to cancel my services this am due to increasing cost for the second time . I was told I can't simply cancel my residual services that I will be reported to their collections department and incur a cancellation fee per Katie. I am not under any contract so this is surprising for a simple residential garbage disposal . I asked to cancel again and I was told I can't cancel until this formal review is complete . They would not give me any information about who further to contact regarding who would be in charge of this review that I would have to simple wait for a call back. This is simple horrible business practice and customer service . This is incredible. Sounds like they're trying to make me stay with their company . An absolute horrible company through and through. Our rural garage company was bought out by this joke of a waste company. Our first run-in occurred within 1 week of the buy out as we were approached stating that we still owed $20 on our account. We explained to them that we paid in full for the entire year (as we have for the past 7 years) with the other company. We had to provide written receipts of these past 7 year transactions before they decided to "waive the $20". We decided to go forward with the disaster of a company for a bit longer as figured maybe it was a simple transition issue between companies. We wanted to add recycling to our service, as we had it in the past with our prior company however it was not offered initially in our area through this catastrophe of a company. We paid ~$90 for a recylcing bin that was never received. I called numerous time to inquire about it being told "it will be out there within 2 weeks, we are having an issue with getting them delivered". We were understanding as we knew many companies were struggling to find help; we were disappointed by their lack of communication. After a total of 2.5 months from taking my money and not receiving the bin we had enough. It required me to call this company 5 times in order to get my money returned to me. Every employee that you speak with "cannot do anything about it, you have to speak to my supervisor". Problem is there is no supervisor. I have left voicemails, sent emails, used the "Contact Us" form on their website time and time again without response. After finally getting someone to credit our account back for the bin we decided to move on to another company. We provided our request for termination of services via phone, voicemail, email, company "Contact Us" page and the chat service on their website on the last day of quarter we were paid up through. As you can guess, this laughingstock of a company called us three weeks later telling us we were late on our payment. I informed them that we had cancelled our service 3 weeks prior and have written documentation of that. I was then informed that the person the provided me with this information "cannot provide that authorization" and I would need to get that from a supervisor. The same supervisors that did not return my emails and voicemails over the past 2-3 months? When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told they are very busy and cannot talk right now. I was told that by paying my initial bill I entered into a legal contact with them that could only be broken by their "legal department" or a supervisor. I then exclaimed that the agreement made with the representative of their organization was a binding written agreement and wanted my service cancelled. I was then met with the phone representative threatening "legal action" for harassing her at work; to which then she (Shannon) hung up the phone. Upon attempting to call back, she further hung up on me three more times based on my caller ID. My wife then called and once the representative (Shannon) put it together that who she was, she proceeded to hang up on her as well. I know what you are thinking, he made this up. Believe me; you couldn't make this up. This company needs to be avoided by all possible consumers at all costs. It is no surprise they are not recognized by the Better Business Bureau and I am confident they would not be in business due to the large number of complaints they would receive. There is zero chance we would EVER use this company going forward nor would we recommend it to anyone. Yield the warning of this review and all of the other 1 star reviews you see on Yelp and Google. You would be better piling your garbage in your family room and kitchen vs getting into business with this company. read more

For 13 weeks in a row we've had to call multiple times each week to have our garbage picked up, and have gone weeks at a time without garbage removal. Talking to customer service has gotten as nowhere and we're told each time that the issue will be resolved or a supervisor will call us back. Now we're being told we have to pay $300 due to their contract, which was never signed, but "implied" when the first payment is made. This company is a literal dumpster fire. read more

Worst company EVER!! I wish I could give negative stars. After our original company went out of business, Priority bought our route. They are consistently late in picking our trash up, you call and when you FINALLY get through they tell you they'll be there the next day... then they never come. I just paid my July, August and September fee and when I called to cancel my service, I was told I need to pay 130.00 cancellation fee. I told them to take my original 87.00 I just paid out of that total and I was told that she would have to see if it was allowed. Then she hung up on me. Avoid this company... there are so many more reliable options out there. I honestly wish I would have read these reviews before I just assumed they would be as good as our last service. It is 100% not worth the headache that you will no doubt have within a few months of having them. read more

They haven't picked up our trash in three weeks. We paid for a yearly trash pick up in advance and since then they have not picked us up. Call every day they gave me the same song and dance every day, supervisor will call you, it'll get picked up by the end of the workday and absolutely nothing! Absolutely frustrating!!!!!! read more

I will start off that this company needs negative stars. My previous garbage service went out of business and sold off the route to Priority Waste. What ever I need my garbage picked up. Gave them a shot. First week they skipped my house. I called them up and they came back and picked up my trash. no problem I am a new customer and mistakes happen. Second week-- (I have the trash out the night before) they drive right by again... I call again. the next day they came and picked it up. This went on every week. A few weeks go by with no change. I had to call every week because they skip my house. It got to a point in late November early December where they skipped my house and I called. They said they are in the area and I will have the trash picked up that evening. Next day goes by and no trash pick up. I called every day for 3 weeks and no pick up. I had a manager come out and he told me he would be at my house personally the next day. No show! I contacted another garbage company and set up a service with them and have not had a single issue with them to this day. I would not wish Priority Waste on anyone. Have had an ongoing problem with Priority Waste. Making 7+ calls each time being told the problem would be fixed. My empty can is put on the driveway. Making it necessary to get out of my car and move it before i can pull in. All of my neighbors cans are put back on the grass. We set our filled can on the grass. Have also asked when I've called the office to speak to someone only to be told all the supervisors are out in the field. I also have left my name and number for them to call me back and no one did. Today when I came home only to find my empty trash can across the street at the neighbors house. When I called today I was given excuses for the guys. And was told they don't do things on purpose. As many times as I've called and complained I find it hard to believe I'm not being targeted because of complaining. I would love to stop service but they are who my city has hired. Chose Priority Waste in Armada Twp in Macomb County because they offer trash and recycling service for a fair price ($68 quarterly - although they are raising their rate by $1.50 for fuel costs). But we have had issues on more than one occasion with our trash not being picked up when it's supposed to be and a lack of action on the company's part to do anything about it. When I called to discuss cancelling our service this morning, the company's representative was careless. Our trash is still sitting in our driveway from last week. The company had no issues with scheduling a pick up to retrieve their bin yet they could not schedule someone to come and pick up the trash sooner than our next pick up date following their error? Basic problem solving. We were understanding the first couple times this happened, but we have since been ignored, there has been no follow through regarding our concerns, and we were dismissed when we called to cancel. Consider Busy Bee or Waste Management instead in this area. read more

I agree with the other posts that this company needs negative stars! I have been requesting a special pickup of a mattress for five weeks now, and it still has not been picked up. The first time they told me to put it on top of my dumpster and it would be picked up. When the driver got there he pushed it off into my yard and left it. The second time they said lean it up against the dumpster and they would pick it up, again, it was pushed off into my yard. Then they said it would be a special pickup and cost $50, still no pick up. Next they said it was $75 to pick it up, still no pick up. I have called multiple time since and cant even get through, just sit on hold . I have to laugh because their recording says customer service is very important to them. This company is a joke!!! I will be canceling my regular service with them and reporting them to the BBB. My advice is to run, don't waste your time on this pathetic excuse for a company. read more

First off you must sign a contract, this should have made me suspicious. I have only had them since the first week in October 2021 (not even a full quarter). Since then, they have not picked up my trash on 4 occasions. I pay extra for recycling and not once where recycling was put on the curb was it recycled. Each time the recycling was thrown into the back of the garbage truck, despite it being clearly marked and identified in multiple locations as recyclables. I have called no fewer than 7 times in 6 weeks to complain and told 5 times someone would call me back. Not once have they called me back. Now I am trying to cancel but due to the contract they require this go thru their legal department so now I have secured an attorney. The attorney will cost me far more than the service itself, but I place a lot of value on principle. I expect that it what they are banking on. Where customers are displeased it cost far more to deal with the issue directly then it does for them to just walk away. I have little doubt that this is by design. Through my attorney we have contacted other customers, both current and previous and have found both the lack of customer service and recyclables that do not get recycled are not uncommon in the least. Integrity matters and this firm has demonstrated they have none. I have had a trash service for over 40 years during which time, generally my only interaction with them was to pay a bill. That is until I hired Priority Waste Service. Do yourself a favor and find someone else, even if it costs more in the long run, it will be of grater value. Cost and value are not the same thing.
