Shelby Twp, MI - Since July of 2024 Priority has been our garbage pick -up. I never write reviews about companies but this one is horrible! I would not even give them one star but you can't write a review without it. I have had to call them on several occasions to come pick up the garbage, recycle and yard waste. They are constantly late and give you a standard answer "we're running behind." They don't answer the phone without a two hour delay/call back option. Not once have they answered my emails, yet they certainly expect payment for services not rendered. I was sorry to hear that GFL sold SE Michigan to them. At least GFL never missed a day and replaced bins if the drivers wrecked them without charge. Priority Waste get it together you have many unhappy customers. It's been a year since you took over garbage pick-up, so no more excuses. Start thinking of your customer base and not your lining your pockets for profit without taking care of business. read more

Recently, I learned that Priority Waste has acquired the contract for residential trash/recycling/yard waste from GFL for Oxford Township in July, 2024. Bad on GFL for not notifying their former customers. Just this week I learned from a trash truck driver (very nice fellow) that our pickup date changed from Friday to Tuesday, another unhappy surprise. Our recycling and compost bins have not been emptied for three weeks. In addition, we have 10 bags of leaves that have been awaiting pickup for 10 days. I have called Priority waste multiple times asking when these will be taken care of. I have very politely been told they are busy picking up Oxford yard waste. The third time I called, a Missed Trash Ticket was generated. It is now 10/31 and the bins and bags still have not been picked up. I was reading the Oxford Township Election Proposals and saw that No. 3 is for a Single Waste Hauler Ordinance...I was all for it until I read in the Oxford Leader that the proposed company, by providing the lowest bid, to be none other than Priority Waste. Now I will not give this a Yes vote, unless of course, my compost/recycling and leaf bags are picked up before November 5. read more

They never respond to E-mails no matter how many you send. If you call, they put you on hold forever.

Several neighbors are having this issue. They don't pick up the recycled trash on the day they are assigned. You reach out to their customer service who state they will send someone out the next day and they never show up. Never had this issue with the previous provider. Whoever in Macomb MI government decided to use this provider needs to be fired. We are going to take our trash, put it in pick-up trucks, and throw it in the parking lot of Priority Waste. If they don't come get the trash we will bring it to them. Where is our refund for no services delivered? read more

Customer service is abysmal to say the least. Clinton township just took them on a waste management contract and they have been late for pickups,and caused numerous issues that need you as the customer to call to rectify. Upon calling we were on hold for nearly 4/5 hours without resolve. My hope is that this service gets better in the immediate future. read more

If you want more trash and debris on he ground AFTER garbage collection then Priority is the company for you. I have pictures and videos of their lazy, shiftless workers doing the exact opposite of what Priority outlines in their so-called mission statement. I actually saw one of them throw a piece of garbage on the ground. They obviously have a very low bar for work ethic and intelligence when it comes to hiring. read more

This company practices with bad faith. My car was parked in the neighborhood street and their truck slammed into mine, totalling my car. It turns out the employee never reported it to Priority, and I had to myself. After several hours of being on hold, I was told that it was my fault for parking on the street, which I have parked there for 6 years with no issue, and that they would not compensate me for rental coverage. They did not have an ounce of urgency or empathy for my situation or any professionalism. They also told me to refrain from filing with their insurance, again sketchy and in bad faith. As soon as they found out I did, the "legal representative" told me there was no point in even taking action on their end whatsoever. She was incredibly condescending, blatantly rude, and did NOT handle the situation in good faith. Here I am carless, and having to file several claims on their behalf since they refuse to do so. If they ever damage your property, I suggest going directly to the police, obtaining their insurance information, and going from there since their customer service is useless. Avoiding insurance claims in a company of this size is highly concerning, and it appears to me that they damage property often and try to keep silent to avoid compensating for it. AGAIN, DO NOT USE their costumer service unless you enjoy being ridiculed and talked down to. read more

Trash hasn't been picked up in a month. This is the worst trash company I have ever worked with

Really, a zero rating. Priority Waste damaged our yard last fall, trying to get to our dumpster. The driver, however, drove past the dumpster, onto some grass and got stuck. Then he tore up the grass trying to get out. He also knocked down a power line. I made a damage report and was told by the corporate attorney they would fix the damage. Four months later, they're refusing to make the repairs. We made a change to regular residential service, however, they never picked up the trash on the day of service - for three weeks in a row. I had to call each week to get them to do what we paid them to do. Now, we're using another company. Smaller, but much more professional. Priority is just a shameful, rinky-dink company. And I've heard the same from other people - including people in our township offices. read more

When they came to Clinton Twp. My wife and I were at the building of there Head Quarters. We spoke to the mgr, and he said that if they got the Clinton Twp contract that it would change the way trash was picked up.Well it has they don,t pick it up like Rizzo and GFL did. Not Good. they are terrible, hold times are ridiculously long. sent a late bill and never sent an invoice. can't register on the website without an invoice....that was never sent. finally got an invoice number and that still didn't allow me to register on the website to pay the bill. they claimed that the wait times are related to the switch from GFL, over a year ago. read more

This company is truely useless. Its regular trash truck in my area (Scio Township, Michigan) missed its regular pickup date - Friday and did it on Saturday instead. I understand it. They accidentally missed to pick up my trash from my trash bin on Satuday (August 3). I also understand that it may happen. So, I called their office on Saturday, but no one was there. I understand that since it's weekends. I called on Monday (August 5) and Tuesday (August 6); at both occasions, a person picked up my call after long waits and promised to clean my trash bin at the respective date. Now, it's Wednesday, but the trash bin is still outside my residence without being vacated. Anything wrong with my request or this company? Why did my township selected this company and its previous one (GFL) even with higher rate but worse service? read more

Priority Waste pickup is unreliable. Twice they didn't show up until the following day and last week they never picked up my recycling at all. This week, they had a "truck shortage" and proceeded to dump recycling bins for the entire neighborhood in with the rest of the landfill trash. Totally unacceptable and unethical. My trash has NOT been picked up in 4 weeks. I did reach a very nice person at Priority who was going to help - but nothing happened. Since then I have been on hold waiting over twenty minutes for service to pick up only to get disconnected. This has happened on multiple occasions so I am guessing this is their business practice - to simply hang up on customers. read more

Going on SIX WEEKS of our garbage piling up on our rural road in Whitmore Lake. Have spent over 2 hours collectively on hold over 11 phones calls, three Customer Service online requests and STILL no one can tell me when they will be picking up my trash. Priority Waste wasn't even aware Whitmore Lake had a route until 4 weeks in despite my many calls. I am a private pay customer paid up through November. The raccoons and other wild animals are helping themselves to the pile nightly, requiring daily cleanups to put it all back into bags. There are flies everywhere. This is unsanitary, dangerous for my dogs and completely unacceptable. They better send us our own truck to pick up this mess-if it ever happens. ZERO RATING. read more

A few weeks ago I came home and my recycling bin had been demolished, it was replaced by my township at no charge. On the next pickup the operator decided to pick up my bin drive forward and place the empty bin dead center in my driveway so I could not pull in. Little did he know I was right behind him as he was doing it. When I asked him why he decided to do that, he got upset and asked me if I wanted his job. WTF read more

I've heard the issues others have been having with Priority Waste and I don't discredit them. But my experience has been great. The last several years GFL had horrible issues with pick up, customer service, etc. As soon as Priority Waste took over, my lackluster services have improved tremendously. I hope Priority can get themselves together soon so we all can have great experiences. read more

Be careful when dealing with this company. The sales representative won't tell you about the cancellation, & hidden fees. There's all kinds of hidden charges when you cancel services. They try to lock you in. I sold my auto repair business to an oil change company. They are under construction so they brought big dumpsters. The construction will take 3-4 months so in the mean time priority is not needed until then. They decided to charge us 362.59 container pick up fee after being a loyal customer. Highly not recommended, Andreana Cvetkovska is no help, she was supposed to speak to her manager 10 days ago. Never did, & never got back with us. I ended up paying the 362.59 they sent me a confirmation to my email. As I was checking the email I see they ran my card again for one dollar as well as the 362.59. Scammers read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would! I contacted the company in June to stop the service the house is vacant I sold the house it closes on July 10th. I was told to give the name of the owner and or scan the bill of sale! It's on your own invoice Current Resident the new owner name isn't your business! Most importantly I contacted you to stop the service in JUNE and send the final bill. Not surprisingly you didn't do either and kept billing me for a house I sold in July! I paid my yearly priority waste bill for the year. My neighbor told us that you can get a discount because we are seniors. I called, and the woman explained its too late because we paid the whole bill but that it can be good for next year. She said just send in a copy of your drivers license as proof of identification. That's CRAZY. They cashed my 220.44 check. That's proof enough. I am not sending my identification. She told me I can come to the office. Not going to happen. They are always several days late for trash and often don't even do the recycling or lawn waste, despite me having paid for this. Because Waterford decided on us doing a single source provider, I'm stuck and cannot change companies. I'm sure Priority knows this and the fact that all of us are stuck w/ no recourse. I put my trash out the night before pickup as I normally do, recycling picked up but somehow the waste hauler missed my house. I called to inform them and someone picked up that night but not without attitud. he drove the truck into a tree branch which broke it off and marked my garbage can that I didn't set it out on time. I ordered and paid for a dumpster to be delivered and removed 1 week later and was quoted $455. A month later, I was billed an additional $100 for a dig-out fee apparently because some items were either lodged in the dumpster or frozen. I own a lot of properties/apartment buildings and regularly hire disposal companies and have never been charged additional fees, especially when they are making the call themselves and don't have to document their reasoning. I will not hire these guys again. I never thought I would be charged hidden fees by a trash company. read more

Their crew drove right past my garbage can without bothering to stop two days ago, though they collected all of the rest of the garbage on my block. They also skipped a few full blocks nearby. They actually returned yesterday to collect from the blocks that they had skipped, but they still did not bother to take mine, despite the city public works department's assurance that they would. This new garbage company is awesome. They do a wonderful job and go above and beyond to take care of the people in the city of Flint. The garbage people are friendly and even if a bag has been opened by an animal they try to pick up as much as possible. I would hivhly recommend this company Priority Waste! This company has charged my card 3 times after cancellation. Charging an additional "surprise $250" for pickup of the dumpster which I have had for 5 years and never agreed to. 12 phone calls in already (not kidding). It's a nightmare. Stay away. Problem after problem, missed weekly service pickups 6-7 times a year consistently. They picked roll offs up late and tried charging me! I should have known. Just DO NOT USE THEM. read more
