It took me the better part of a year to find a rolfer that I wanted to go through the 10 series with, and this is the one thing I stress to everyone. Find the right person, as you will be spending 10 sessions (in my case, 12) with this individual. I did the 10 series as a way to learn more about my body, correct issues I had noticed, and to steal Theresa's words 'be the best version of myself.' I went from being able to tell when something was wrong with my body and the reason, to constantly checking in with my body and noticing small things I did throughout the day that could/would add to pain I experienced later. Yes, this is very focused on myself, my experience, and how my body feels now. This is ALL due to Theresa, and her way of understanding my ramblings of how I was feeling. She worked on areas that didn't match what I had just described, but she was quick to explain why. She would also check in before, during, and after the session. This impacted my ability to understand my body and taught me so much more about my body. She is also amazing at talking about the most random things, which is nice when you are going to be spending 1.5 hours with someone every week. I have had 12 sessions with her due to needing to take a break at two points to focus on pressing issues. The first time was to focus on some shoulder pain that I have experienced on and off for years, and after Theresa's attention, the pain started to disappear and I was able to understand what I was doing to add to the pain. The next time we took a break from the 10 series was when I had a sinus infection and came into her office just crying due to the pain I was in. I had seen a dentist and, eventually, a doctor. Neither of them relieved the pain the way Theresa did with a face massage that left me not needing to grab pain killers. Please, please find the right person when you decide to go through this process. I am pretty sure Theresa will be that person for almost anyone. :) And if you aren't big of Rolfing or completing the 10 series, Theresa is still your person in addressing issues you are experiencing with your body. I can't say enough good things about her to describe my satisfaction.

I was a little leery of the cost of a 10 series as well, but let me tell you it's worth every penny. Even my chiropractor keeps commenting on how much better my problem areas are! I've been under chiropractic care for 16 years and have seen many healers of several different modalities, and I can tell you that Theresa is a natural born healer with a gift for realigning a body.

When I arrived at Ann's studio I was feeling a little scattered and overwhelmed and abstract from hosting 50 people in my home the day before. I first scheduled an appointment with her when my right lower back was killing me out of nowhere one day, and I walked out of our session almost totally pain free. The muscle continued to release over the next day and I felt completely better. The calf issue is more serious and my sessions with Monica have been a great complement to my physical therapy sessions. I was visiting from out of town and honestly would have been fine with the number 2 type, because very rarely do you come across someone who does the number 3 thing right. But people on here were saying all the right things that led me to believe we may have a winner here (we do). Also his website talks about mixing music and a vibrating table for resonance therapy, which I've not experienced before, but I'm all for trying different bodywork things. Booked through the website (great hours if you have normal working hours) and answered some of the questions. I'm sure I wrote something confusing because Sami contacted me to clarify what I selected vs. what I was expecting. We went through a moment of needing to reschedule and he was perfectly nice and flexible with the new time. Day of, he patiently went over any and all things I had issues with or wanted to focus on, my history of bodywork, etc. that doesn't count toward your session time. And then the happy place (*sigh* seriously, IS is now my happy place). It's a dark room with the table that he's modified for the music vibration to work, that's heated with a heavy-ish soft blanket that he bathes in meditation-y music. So freaking perfect. Not counting his work, I probably would have been happy with all of that on its own. But he is incredibly attuned to you/your body. He goes in and out of light touches to deeper work. Some of what he did were methods I'm familiar with, and some that I'm now bummed to know about because where the hell else am I going to find someone like him?? I'm sure he's also got some magic feel of the right song for the right moment that I thought was next-level considerate. We had a debrief session before I left and shared what area he thought I needed to focus on more in the future (si-11). Again, he was kind with his time and knowledge even though it was late and he was heading out too. I'm sad Sami's in Denver (and happy for all of you). He'd probably be worth going back to Denver for, except DEN is it's own hel--that's a review for another place.

She is extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about how she helps her clients. I have a neck injury and many years of "wear and tear" from a lifetime of professional dancing. If you want to experience an infrared sauna he has a $5 first time experience and it's well worth it and you can get a great idea of whether you want to continue with that type of therapy or not.
