I don't return to most massage places and used to commute 25 miles for a masseuse I liked back when I lived in SF After trying 3 other places in Denver, this one is worth it. My preferred style of massage is "mess me up" and this place uses the standing-on-you method to achieve the pressure I don't get from most places. I had Amber who had the ability to identify trigger points in the first bit of the session then used bigger limbs like her elbows, forearms, and heels to release finer knots in my hands, forearms, lower back, and glutes. I left feeling like the most relaxed, bendy noodle on the planet. The space itself is spotless, welcoming, and calming. Just a small note: if stairs are a challenge, I didn't notice an elevator, so plan accordingly. To top it off, we were treated to fragrant blue butterfly tea and tasty snacks after the massage, which made the whole experience feel extra special. Not sure how this place is 5 stars from reviews... Setting up the appt was okay. They had desired time available but it took a minute. It is located on the top (2nd) level of the building with a bunch of other offices around. No elevator. Had some challenges going up the stairs due to some recent knee injury. Walking in the want you to take off your shoes, it looks like it's in someone apartment. The kitchen is right there as you open the door. Their bathroom is outside in the hall and only the 1 by their entrance is theirs to be used by guests. There is only a white almost sheer curtain separating the massage space and can hear noises everywhere else inside the room was not pleasurable and can hear the next appointment clients come in and talk. Just not a comfortable environment. They do have large heated tables which was a nice touch but that is one of only a few nice things about here. They were pleasently nice too. The massage was not that great to be honest. Having experience in Thai massages, the Thai technique wasn't bad and the stretching with the massage was good but half of the massage was stabbing elbow moves to my buttocks and it was not enjoyable. Too much pins and needle with sharp elbow massage and is not the proper way to do deep tissue. And, my knee is actually worse now and cannot walk even more. The masseuses standing on our backs was not enjoyable, we were scared they were going to break our ribs or back. They were too heavy with putting all their weight on us and we couldn't breathe. The coughing without covering the mouth from the masseuse is a no-go. Having the phone ringing and beeping by their phones is distracting. Especially when the masseuse has to leave during the massage to answer his phone. This is the only place that did not have a female masseuse with a male client. They did not ask for a preference and they did not ask if there were any specific target areas to work on. Definitely not going here ever again. I booked the $$$ Thai Advanced Thai Therapeutic Bodywork $155, 90 minutes, but unclear how that is different from Thai Combo Bodywork Therapy at $150 Luckily I had read the reviews before: this is like a converted loft. With just curtains between the waiting room and your treatment room. As long as you know what to expect. Also, I have had Thai massage and usually they give you pajamas, but this was more traditional western massage in that you take off all your clothes except undies. Suggestion: they should ask if you have any allergies before they put lotion/cream on you. I'm allergic to pine and eucalyptus and they put something (probably just menthol) but I was scared and at one point my eyes were kind of on fire, but I took off the eye thing and it was ok. 5 stars for the quality of the massage. It was a GREAT massage, Valentina was my masseuse the waiting area was nice in that they offered water or tea. and they had lots of snacks that were pretty cool there. The building also has really cool decor and waiting area (while you wait for your ride) though someone was really loud on her phone and that took away from the calm/coolness of the place. I just came back from a vacation in Thailand and I got a bunch of Thai massages there. My daughter visited me when I got back and I offered to get her a Thai massage since she's never had one. I looked for the highest rated Thai massage places near me and found Ancient Thai off Yelp. I was able to get a discount since it was her birthday and they offer a birthday special so I booked her an appointment. On the day of, they sent me a text showing me pics and directions...glad they did because their massage studio is part of a building complex with no signs and no parking so we had to park on the street but no biggie. Just glad they sent us good directions. Walking in, it feels like someone's condo that got converted to a massage studio. The service was super friendly. They serve you tea and snacks. There's light massage tranquil music playing. Each massage room is only separated by cloth covers so you can hear anyone next to you. It was still a nice setting but definitely would be better with physical rooms. My daughter got Nadia as a massage therapist. She came out and said it was painful but in a good way. She asked for a deep massage and she had a lot of knots since she dances a lot. Nadia really worked on the tight spots. Nadia stretched her too and cracked her bones to loosen them. My daughter felt light and loose afterwards. I asked my daughter if she likes Thai massage over Western massage and she likes how the Thai massage went deep and felt therapeutic but it was less relaxing. Usually she relaxes so much in Western massages that she falls asleep . She still prefers a regular Western massage but will definitely do a Thai massage again. This place is a gem! I booked a 90-minute Traditional Thai Bodywork /Ancient Thai Bodywork Therapy with Patrick and it was nothing short of amazing. I have been dealing with shoulder/rotator cuff pain, plus stress in my shoulders and low back pain. I wrote these details in my intake form and when I went in for my appointment, it was clear Patrick actually read my intake form and was ready to make a game plan. He was very attentive and experienced. He knew where the knots were that were pinpointing to my rotator cuff pain and we were able to work through it. Prior to my session, I'd feel a pinching sensation when I raised my arm, but afterwards I was able to raise my arm with less pain. Great service before, during, and after.
