By the time I left my consultation, all of my fears and anxieties were gone and I knew this is going to be a positive experience. When I showed up for my actual appointment, I had very little anxiety, and my nerves were actually not completely shot. In 2 1/2 hrs, I walked out with a complete top denture after having all my upper teeth extracted. I still cannot believe that they did both extractions and Dentures all during the same appointment, and it took under three hours from beginning to end! First, the hygienist explained what was happening with my teeth. Sam took her time and educated me on what causes bone loss and the numbers she assigned to my dental schema. She suggested a deep cleaning as my next step. Next, the dentist was calm and attentive. He gave me options instead of insisting that I choose a route that I was not comfortable with. This gave me comfort in knowing that my voice was important. Both exemplified patient-centered care with professionalism and expert advice. Finally, meeting DJ, their office manager, was the highlight of the visit. She was patient as we looked for ways to finance my treatment plan. My father is a dentist and looked at the X-rays and explained that I needed one for buildup under the gum lines and this was several years ago, he also explained they are only necessary under certain circumstances and originally I fit that, again 2-3 years ago. I was 52 at the time and never needed one while my dad practicing until I was 45, this is NOT normally needed at all. Anyways I explained to them I'd do a regular cleaning and had to argue with them to get that. I go in and the hygienist says I was scheduled for a deep cleaning.
