He had to change to 12:15PM the day before, so I agreed. Once here, he put together everything, but I was a bit worried with him carrying heavy parts of the furniture down the steps because he is a bit older and doesn't seem to be in the best shape. I didn't want him to fall going down the steps. He put everything together and it all looked good. He quickly left after I payed.

This experience was unexpected, especially since I had previously used Miguel's services to install…read moreseveral cameras, and that transaction went very smoothly. Approximately one year later, I contacted the company to have the cameras reset, as I did not have a ladder tall enough to reach them, and to install an under-cabinet ducted vent hood. The microwave previously installed in that location had already been removed, the duct opening was prepared for the vent hood installation, a 120V receptacle was already in place, and no electrical work was required. All of this was explained before the job was accepted, and I confirmed the quoted cost for both services on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, there were several instances where Miguel did not arrive for scheduled appointments and failed to notify me that he would not be coming. This continued for approximately a week and a half until he unexpectedly arrived one day. He successfully reset the cameras; however, when it came time to install the vent hood, he stated, "The office quoted me the wrong price, and I charge $250 per hour because I am a technician." He also mentioned that his teenage daughter had accompanied him. I had not hired or agreed to pay for an additional person to assist with the work. Miguel then refused to complete the installation at the quoted price and requested an additional amount equal to 100% increase of the original quote, effectively doubling the cost. I declined and paid only for the camera reset service that had been completed. I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and poor communication. Had there been unforeseen issues or additional work required, I would have understood. However, that was not the case here. If there was a pricing discrepancy, it should have been communicated before the appointment, giving me the opportunity to decide whether to proceed. Increasing the price on the day of service, without justification, is not a professional business practice. Based on my experience and some of the other reviews I have read, this appears to be a recurring issue. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company.

The indoor part of the facility used to be a supermarket or department store, so it is quite large. The whole place is clean, well lit, and the air conditioning is better than I expected. Nicely cool in the summer, and comfortably warm in the winter. My unit was on the end, right near the curbside door, but I noticed looking down the aisles that they are very wide, if you wanted to access your unit while the tenant across did the same, there would be no problem. The roll-up door worked smoothly, and the built-in lock eliminates having to buy or supply a padlock. There are always plenty of flatbed carts available. Not 24 hour access, but you can get in 7:30 am to 10 pm every day, holidays included. Office staff very friendly and helpful, and the managers live onsite. Even when the office was closed, a few times when I went to my unit, I saw one of the managers, so they don't close up the office and disappear. Although I didn't have a need for it, I noticed they have plenty of room for outside storage (like vehicles & equipment) and again, it is clean and well organized. If I ever need storage again, I will definitely return here.

Ray is a wizard. Our first experience with him came when we ordered a cabinet online. We spent close to two hours unpacking it, getting maybe halfway through assembling it, and finding that one of the parts was defective. The company we ordered it from (Wayfair) took responsibility, sent us a new cabinet, and arranged for a handyman (Ray) to assemble it at their expense. Ray showed up when he said he would, and without looking at directions had the cabinet unpacked and assembled in about 15 minutes. Several months later, we called on Ray to fix a sleeper sofa that had been damaged by a mover and a desk with a complex interlocking shelf and top drawer that had become jammed. He took care of the sofa very quickly, then wrestled with the desk (for which there were no directions) for nearly an hour figuring out the shelf-drawer mechanism, disassembling quite a bit of the desk to get at and fix the problem, and reassembling the desk. He then charged us about half of what we would have expected to pay for both jobs. From now on, no matter what needs doing in our house, Ray is our man. read more

We had to break into our home and I ended up cracking the door frame and the trim as well as damaging the actual door. I requested 3 quotes. One place said $240, another place said $400. Ray came in well under both of them. He understood that we did not have much to work with financially and was able to repair the damage rather than replace everything. The other two companies wanted to replace everything. He was on time, he was friendly and courteous. I was not able to be there so my wife and two daughters were home and she felt completely comfortable with him there. I inspected the work when I got home and he did an AMAZING job. You can't tell it ever happened. Feel free to get quotes from whomever you like but I promise you, you can not go wrong with Ray. He does great work at a fair price. I hired Greg to renovate a half bath that had a toilet that leaked, damaging the sub floor and…read morehardwoods in the hall. The first red flag was Greg's cartoonish quote for work. Greg is a smooth talker and made it seem like it would all be good. He said payment would be due upon completion although there was no mention of this in the "contract." Turns out "Remove vanity and install custom vanity" means ripping out the large existing vanity, sink, and huge mirror and then popping down the pedestal sink THAT I BOUGHT. Period. Red flag #2: When I asked Greg about the massive drywall damage, he said "Is it in the contract?" The agreement does say he does not cover drywall repair, but this was literally left in a demo state. On Day 2, while the entire floor was ripped up with the crawlspace exposed, Greg asked me for a check. I said I planned to pay him with a credit card and it would take me a few days to move money around to give him the equivalent of cash. Day 3 he walked off the job claiming non-payment. After I calmly explained that I could not be in non-payment because no payment was due, Greg came back the next day like nothing happened... All of the insulations under the half bath was wet so it had to go. Greg did not want anything to do with replacing it. I went out and bought insulation and installed it myself. Either Greg or his plumber, Drew, cracked the first sink basin during install. Luckily Home Depot replaced it with no questions and Drew came back and installed the new one. Drew was actually great. I did all of the leg work for the return, so don't expect Greg to actually stand by his work or take responsibility for mistakes. Greg made it clear he does not do hardwood floor repair and I was fine with that. Turns out, my hardwood flooring guy discovered that there was a strange strip of plywood sub floor installed to fill a gap that was not actually supported. We found out why when he pulled it up. See photos. Don't expect structural repairs to actually connect to other structural members. Don't expect your tile OR subfloor to be level or flat. Don't expect a professional job.

Greg and his other worker were very efficient and even though we ran into a few issues (old plumbing and uneven walls), Greg was able to troubleshoot the issues and did a fantastic job with this renovation.
