I cannot express my gratitude for Best Buy Stockton team. I had a horrible experience in Best Buy…read moreVallejo due to an open box item I was trying to exchange within the 15 day policy. I was treated as if I caused the damage to a laptop I purchased. The manager was really rude, he flat out denied me and said "well I don't know how it looked it before you bought it, etc." I really never understood his reasoning since I was within the 15 day return with a RECEIPT & all of the accessories included. I told him the screen was glitching, even showed him a video I recorded while it was happening and he accused me of causing the water damage. I told him I bought it open box and took the risk, why would I waste anyone's time to lie and return it? I wanted to change it and buy a new one knowing I'll have to pay more. Only one person in that store seemed like they like their job or are willing to help. I left, called customer service and asked about the policy. I went to Best Buy Stockton - I explained what happened to the tech specialist manager in Stockton and he was understanding and amazing!! I truly just wanted to purchase a new laptop top without any issues. He said I was within the 15 day returned policy and he was able to give me Advice on which warranty to purchase should anything happen to the brand new lap top. I've never had any issues with Best Buy Stockton. THANK YOU ZACH, C! Give them another chance, you won't regret it.

I brought my vintage Marantz 2265B to Stereo Advisor after purchasing it on Facebook Marketplace…read more The receiver had two known issues when I bought it: the left phono input channel did not work, and the FM tuner was nonfunctional. After researching repair shops that specialize in vintage audio equipment, Stereo Advisor seemed highly recommended, so I drove about two hours each way from Fresno to have the unit serviced. When I dropped the receiver off, I explained the issues in detail and specifically requested a full diagnostic and repair evaluation. I also clearly explained that I work night shift in an ICU and asked to be contacted by email or text only so I would not be woken up during the daytime between shifts. Despite providing both my email and phone number on the intake form, I still received phone calls during the middle of the day while sleeping. A few days later, I was told that several capacitors, relays, and power board components needed replacement, that the FM tuner required repair, and that additional diagnostic work would be needed on the RCA/phono section. I was quoted roughly $500-$600 total including the initial $100 deposit, which I approved. About two weeks later, I received another daytime phone call saying the receiver was ready for pickup. I drove back to Modesto, paid the remaining balance, and was told the receiver had been fully tested and was functioning correctly. Unfortunately, after finally setting up the system at home once my speakers and turntable arrived, I discovered that the exact same issues were still present. The left phono channel still did not work, and the FM tuner still did not function. That was extremely frustrating considering the amount of money spent and the amount of travel involved. While I was given a bag of replaced capacitors and components, the original problems I brought the receiver in for were not resolved. The most disappointing part of the experience was being told the unit had been tested and repaired when the two primary issues remained unchanged. Combined with the repeated disregard for my requested communication preferences, it left me with very little confidence in the overall service experience. Based on my experience, I personally would not return for future vintage audio repairs.

I say "pilgrimage" because 1. it was a 4 hour drive and 2. it may well be the most wonderful aural experience you will ever have. I don't care how nice your headphones are, they cannot get anywhere near the imaging, depth, and impact that is provided by the equipment in this store. Remember, sound is a pressure wave, you don't just hear it with your ears, it is something you can feel with your whole body as it vibrates the air all around you. Likely if you are reading this review then you already have your reason for being interested in what this store has to offer. My reason is that I first experienced the greats of rock on my parents' hifi system (equipped with traditional large woofers) and have a need to imprint that same experience on my children (in the hope that they will have their third eye open to what music can be: time capsules, exploding with pure emotion). So, equipped with reason enough to visit, what makes Fly Hifi worth it? So many reasons. The most basic: you'll get better quality equipment here than ANYWHERE else for a much lower price. Other important factors: reliability (all equipment has a 30 day guarantee), a great demo space (great isolation and acoustically treated walls), ideal amplification (you'll hear the speakers' full potential), expertise (Steve knows his stuff but does not lord it over you), and vibes (all the other things that you can't find anywhere else like the comfy chairs, smell of high quality wood cabinets, zero pressure to buy from folks who enjoy what they are doing). So if you read all the way to here you're probably thinking, "Ok dude, I get to the point, you liked going to the vintage hifi store (who wouldn't?); what did you actually BUY?" Answer: The Klipsch Cornwall IIIs. I listened to them and in moments I knew they were exactly what I wanted. The punch of the bass seamlessly integrated with the crystal clear mids was so focused and clear which was exactly how I felt when I first heard my parents' system with my 3 year old hyper-sensitive frame. These things are going to blow my children away (with fidelity, not dBs; be responsible) and if my kids only come out of their childhoods with a passing interest in music it will not be for lack of the right exposure! I could not be happier with everything from pre-sales communication through purchase. Thanks again Steve for all your help and I'll be sure to follow up as I build out the system.
