In those two years Jake has reached out 3 times to check on my home and his work. It just seems to be how he is. In those two years I've reached out with some admittedly stupid questions and each time he's addressed my concerns without any snark or down talk that some techie guys use when speaking to plebes. I needed additional home tech stuff and naturally I reached out to Jake. His response was timely given his work load and he immediately offered elegant solutions to an inelegant problem. (Someone in my neighborhood is actively using my gravel yard as a dog pit stop and leaving me nasty surprises ). Jake offered some very clever options up to and including an outdoor speaker paired with my existing camera system (that he installed ) to politely ask the offending dog owner to remove their dog waste. Ultimately my wife vetoed the idea of me having the ability to leave audio messages for bad neighbors. But Jake's suggestion of an upgraded new camera with AI facial recognition and a wider field of view was perfect. Within a week Jake personally came back and upgraded the camera thus negating the one small blind spot the offender had been using. He kept his word. He sent me tutorials and worked with me not even being home to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with my upgraded surveillance view before leaving. Setting standards and holding yourself to them are key to excellence. Keeping your word and delivering what you promise are key to excellence. But. Excellence isn't derived from robot like adherence to guidelines. It's a combination of many intangible things. It's rare these days to encounter true excellence in almost any field. I was considering one of them until I spoke with Meigs. He was awesome. He told me he offers free quotes over the phone, but he didn't just give me a quote. He actually tried to help me troubleshoot the issue right then and there. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me, calmly walking me through step-by-step instructions. He suggested there might be another GFCI hidden somewhere else in the house or even in the garage. The garage hadn't even crossed my mind, but it made sense since the restrooms are closer to that side of the house. Since we don't live at the property, I wasn't there at the time to test it. I told him we'd try it when we were back there later in the week. I must've sounded a little flustered because he kindly said, "When you get there, call me if you need me," offering to walk me through everything again if necessary. Sure enough, when we checked the garage, there it was, a GFCI outlet we hadn't noticed before. We reset it, and everything worked like a charm. There was power again in the restrooms downstairs. Thanks to Meigs, he saved me at least $350 of the visit and solved the issue in 10 minutes over the phone. If one was in a hurry to get their PC back due to having no other options, I could see where a customer might get upset or impatient. I, personally, am not knocking them down on my review for this as it was not an urgent matter for me and I told them so. It's possible the lengthier timeline for me was due to the fact that I told them it was no rush. I would rather them take their time and do it right than a shoddy rush job. Overall, they did a solid job repairing my PC (typing my review from it right now) and really the only thing I'd suggest for improvement is maybe more proactive communication with the customer. I had to call in for status updates until the PC was fixed and ready for pickup at which point they sent me a text to let me know. I think a few more texts just letting the customer what's going on would likely improve the overall customer experience. I would bring my device(s) back to RepairALL since they repaired my PC and were friendly. If they improve on those little things it could easily be a 5-star experience.
