Jaco Land Management

Jaco Land Management

The crew had only a 100-gallon external fuel tank for three large machines, and the site is very rural. Onsite manager Monte asked to use my fuel trailer, and I agreed. To keep them going, I made three fuel trips totaling 1,300 gallons. Other services and materials under our contract were also provided by me. On the final day, after Josh fired Monte, he arrived to “help.” His work lowered the pond dam by two feet after he tried packing the sides. I briefly discussed the materials and services I provided, but we didn’t go into detail as they were trying to finish that day. Josh left at 5:15 PM, leaving one worker to complete the pond. That worker stayed until 9:45 PM. I sent Josh an itemized email with receipts, deducted materials and services from the final payment, and gave his worker the balance. At 6 AM the next morning, Josh left a voicemail threatening to destroy the dam and place a mechanic’s lien on my property. A report was filed with the sheriff, and a criminal trespass warning was issued to Jaco Land Management and its employees. Several attempts to contact Josh went unanswered. Calls went to voicemail; I also texted and emailed asking to resolve the matterâ€"no response. Josh is not honest and mixes Christianity into his business advertising. The employee he fired had a sick mother. Josh told me Monte was lying to take time off, but two days later, Monte’s mother passed away. The road built is unsatisfactory. I requested a 10-foot width, but spreading gravel with a D6 dozer pushed it 16 feet wide, wasting material into the wood line. I had to buy additional gravel to finish the road, which still has bare and rough areas. Most recently Josh has sent a text stating that he will not stand behind his work. These facts should be considered before hiring this company.
