Thank you Brandon Nicholas for fixing my ac unit!! I came home from work yesterday and it was cool…read morein the house. You have no idea how grateful my pets and I are. Backstory: I had gotten a new ac unit installed a year ago but it never ran well so I assumed it was too hot outside, bad windows, insulation issue and had purchased 2 window units to help keep it cold inside. I've known Brandon for a very long time and was just casually complaining about my HVAC issues, then he had me check some things out to find that the previous installer completely did a hack job. I was lectured about using "friends of family" who aren't properly licensed and certified...but then he fixed it for me quickly. The price was very reasonable and the amount of care and thought he put into worrying about me and the dogs meant even more 10 out of 10 would recommend him to anyone requiring HVAC services

I was not given a price and I have never met this person. When I declined services due to these things I received "You want me to drive 45 mins spend 1-2 hrs testing the systems for free?" Brandon kept going on and on being demeaning, disrespectful and unprofessional. I was very hostile. I explained further I am not interested due to the cost as I would like to get several quotes and several I have spoken to do not charge a fee. To improve I think this company should meet with homeowners first not try to gain access to their home without them present and be transparent with pricing.

I can't say enough good things about Mike, the owner of Above All Plumbing…read more I've worked with Mike for over five years across a wide range of projects--from simple repairs like fixing a leaky sink all the way up to full-scale replumbing of a 48-unit apartment building. In between, he's handled just about everything you can imagine, and he's even done work at my personal residence. That alone should tell you the level of trust I have in him. What truly sets Mike apart is his reliability and professionalism. He shows up when he says he will. He starts jobs on time and, just as importantly, he finishes them. In an industry where it's common for contractors to bounce between projects, leaving jobs half-done while they chase the next one, Mike is the exact opposite. When he commits to a project, he sees it through. He doesn't disappear for weeks while juggling other work. He stays focused and gets it done. He also consistently finishes within the scheduled timeframe. And in the rare instance where something needs to shift, his communication is excellent. He doesn't leave you guessing. He's proactive, transparent, and respectful of your time and schedule. Beyond that, Mike is dependable, hardworking, and honest. With the volume of units and projects I manage, I've worked with a lot of trades over the years. It's not easy to find someone who combines skill, integrity, consistency, and strong communication--but Mike does. Whether it's a small residential repair or a large multifamily project, he treats the work seriously and stands behind it. That kind of consistency over five-plus years is rare. If you're looking for a plumber you can truly rely on--someone who shows up, communicates clearly, finishes what he starts, and does quality work--Above All Plumbing should absolutely be your first call.

Mike was referred to us through the electricians we hired to do the plumbing work on our home…read moreaddition on a small south city home that included a powder room (5x8) and small master about 6x8. As the project progressed he made decisions about toilet/shower/sink placement that we said we didn't want, but his response was always "no, that can't be done" or "that's not how it works". He would come in, act as if we were burdening him and he was doing us a favor. He misplaced the toilet and sink despite many requests and then charged us to make those fixes despite them being his mistakes. He started to become quite indignant. This is our first home addition but have done large home renovations in the past. We naively trusted him, but as the process went on our other contractors would find errors. He didn't do basic things (for a home addition) like adding water spickets outside, or make sure the current plumbing was functioning correctly. I grew too scared to ask him anything and he continued to force us to pay more and more for things that would have been considered standard for this scope of work. He recommended (and we purchased) a shower pan, then he got angry and told us it wasn't acceptable. We had to hire another contractor to come in and fix this because he said it wasn't in his scope, then because we had to hire someone else because he said it wasn't in his scope that he was going to pull the permits off of our house because someone else worked on the shower base. We felt stuck and scared. He had sent several threatening texts. We asked if he could just finish what he was willing to. In total we paid him $16,550 which was over the bid. And we still don't have a shower or working sinks in either bathroom (he said he didn't know we were doing a wall mounted sink/faucet, he never asked and we aren't plumbers and didn't know we had to tell him). He also stole a brass drain fixture because it apparently wasn't the correct one so he took it. When we asked about it, he admitted it and returned it and said he assumed it was trash (although he had confirmed during the walk through that it would work and it was special ordered and he returned it without the box making it not returnable). He took that but never cleaned up or took his trash and pvc discards and left a mess the 3x he worked on our home. The hours he worked were less than 24, he was paid more than 16k, the job never finished, he never did basic due diligence on anything and we asked him to make sure the new and old were working and the next day had a sewage back up/flooded basement (that we didn't bother even calling him or addressing it with him because we knew he would try to charge us an outrageous amount, also when we hired someone else we were scared because he said no one else could work on the plumbing in the home because he had pulled the permit). Job is still not complete and he is threatening to put a lien on the home. I feel out of options, scared of him, don feel safe that he knows where I live and that he has us over a barrel. He continues to threaten us and demand more money when we've continually had to hire other people to fix his work. Maybe this wouldn't happen to others, but I feel taken advantage of. I feel he's holding us hostage and don't know what do to. We have spent a lot of money and have no working plumbing by him and I think people need to be aware of what he is capable of. He did physically steal something and then got angry that we questioned it and that he threw it away. I have cried many years because of him and if you are a woman... I will bluntly and confidently say, do not hire this man.

I could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning. I hired Frank, he never told me his last name, to…read morerepair two bathroom drain pipes that shared one wall in early March 2026. I asked him if I would need a work permit pulled for these repairs and he said "no". I thought F.S. Plumbing was a licensed plumbing company. I later found out it is not a licensed plumbing company. I also found out from both St. Louis County and St. Charles County that a permit would have been required for these four repairs. When Frank came out to do the work, he tore out a part of the wall in my bathroom, he said the only way to repair both drain pipes was to cut a hole into the metal vent that was inside the wall. I asked him if it could be easily repaired and he said that it would be an easy fix and that I could fix it myself with a piece of metal and a few screws. He told me he thought it was a cold air return. When I told him my cold air return was in the hallway, he didn't respond. I then told him I thought that was the vent coming off my furnace and asked if he wanted to go to the basement to look. He had been in my basement earlier to look at my outdoor faucet pipes since he was going to repair them as well. He declined going to look in the basement to see what the vent was and he proceeded cutting into the vent. He cut a large hole in the vent and the way that it was cut I saw no way to repair it since the one drain pipe was running right through it. I decided to Google "can you cut a hole in a furnace vent?" I got the quick response of "absolutely not". I called my local fire marshal and he agreed that it should have never been cut due to it being the furnace and water heater flue vent for carbon monoxide release. I called a retired HVAC friend and he said Frank, a plumber, should have known that you can't cut open a furnace flue vent. He told me not to pay Frank until I found out how much it would cost to replace the flue section. After I researched and found out this information, Frank asked to be paid. I told him I couldn't pay him that day until I found out exactly what it was going to cost to replace the flue vent. He said he wouldn't leave my house until I paid in full. I felt threatened and intimidated so I wrote him a check for the full amount of $1495. Frank left the house and, I found out later, he immediately drove to my personal bank (of the check) and cashed the check that same day. Also, when Frank left my house, he didn't tell me to not use my heat or hot water, or to turn them off in the basement. I could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning if I hadn't called my friend, later, who told me this fact. My friend told me how to shut off the gas furnace and water heater valves after Frank left to cash my check. I didn't have heat or hot water for over two weeks until the flue vent was ordered, delivered, and replaced. (The vent was a special order and came from out of State since it was a vent from the 1960's and no other manufactured flue vents would fit properly or safely). Frank refused to pay for the repair which turned out to be a replacement of the section of flue vent between the two bathrooms. I got 4 bids for him so he would see I was trying to get him the lowest price for the flue replacement. The HVAC bids ranged from $1500 - $2500. Frank came over to my house a few days after his initial work and said he was going to "fix" my flue vent. He was holding a tube of caulk and a piece of metal. I told him again that the flue section had to be completely replaced. He didn't believe that the flue had to be replaced even though a fire marshal and six HVAC guys said the situation was very dangerous and the vent section had to be replaced. I spoke to Frank, off and on, for three weeks giving him ample time to do the right thing and pay for the flue replacement. He refused, and the last time I texted him he texted me "God is watching". I had the flue vent replaced and I paid for it. I, also, had to have another plumber redo the drain pipe repairs that Frank charged me $895, I had to pay an additional $1000 for the drain pipes to be moved to the correct position, away from the vent. I had to have the wall repaired with new dry wall and tape since the HVAC man had to tear the wall out to get to the entire flue vent. I contacted YELP in late March since Frank has the red YELP GUARANTEE but they have not responded to my filed claim. I have contacted the Missouri Attorney General Consumer Complaint department and they have opened complaints against YELP and F.S. Plumbing and are currently investigating the claims.
