This salon were open to working with my current hand tied for now, gave fabulous highlights and lowlights to create a beautiful brighter overall look, and we are discussing our future plans for custom ordering our 30" or more length 6 months or so down the line when it is finally time to retire my Dakota London set. Other salons only go to 24", and I am not willing to chop 6" or more after all this work. Ottalaus has been a dream find. Depending on how my employment hunt goes, perhaps I will allow my stylist to play in the fantasy colors, but we will stay "normal" blonde for now.

The stylist was wonderful, she made sure to check that the products she used were okay since my mom is sensitive to certain hair products, which we really appreciated. The woman I spoke with on the phone when booking was also super helpful and answered all of my questions, making the process so easy. Overall, a great experience from start to finish!

Super expensive but I wanted quality hair. Never had a problem when I was seeing the more experienced girl. Then I go in and see a new girl, they said she was great, my extensions got put in and about 3 weeks to 4 weeks in all my beads started falling out. One after another. I would usually get my move ups every 2 1/2 to 3 months. Never had this happen. So I call and was told anything during the first week they will handle. But that I should move my hair up every 4 weeks. That is their policy. Don't love that since I never had a problem before and I take really good care of my extensions. I am finding a new salon. it seems she has been trying to delete my original review so here's a new one…read more first of all i am honored to receive the famous "hope u heal" line u reserve for all ur bad reviews. guys this is an example of her condescending tone since our original call. i also want to say that although i do think Ariana's read on the situation was spot on and perfectly articulated, i had absolutely nothing to do with it. she is a complete stranger. if i were recruiting people to leave reviews, u would have more than just one couple things in response to ur last message: - a haircut this bad should be obvious to someone claiming to be a professional. - I dont think being a loyal customer entitles me to a refund, i think a bad haircut does. - i only mention being a recurring customer to emphasize 2 things-- the way you treat loyal clients with a **good track record**, and lost revenue for a business who *themselves* stated cannot afford a refund. - I was very careful to specifically not use the word shelf and that was intentional. - Ive had big short hair, i've had two wolf cuts, & i know how to style it. I would never request a jelly or anything resembling one. ever. (not that that's what this is) - I didn't request a blow-out. I was OFFERED one. Maybe it's not something y'all should offer in the first place if u will blame clients for accepting and use it to deny refund. - I wasn't shown the back of my hair, esp. not in final form. being in front of mirrors does not change that. this is low IQ. - I nearly accepted ur "resolution" bc u gave me no other option and i was genuinely trying to work with you. but ultimately, like i tried explaining on the phone, it would not have actually solved anything for me. simple as that. - yes actually... I did leave satisfied.. bc I didn't notice? and it's almost as if... that's the whole issue ???? hello ?? i want to make it clear that although i was preparing for a chargeback, i remained very polite and still tried my best to resolve this directly with the salon. i even tried to meet her halfway by suggesting a partial refund but she was not making the same effort, and became progressively rude. It's clear we're operating from fundamentally different premises. maybe that's the root of the problem here. Your position is that there's nothing wrong with the haircut itself and that I don't know how to style it. ok, I'll bite. for the sake of argument, let's assume that's true.... It still doesn't change the fact that this is objectively not the haircut I asked for or agreed to receive. on that basis alone, I am owed a refund due to service not as described. it doesn't matter if u think u can "make it better". improving something bad doesn't make it good, just makes it less bad. if you had any ground (or documentation) to stand on, u wouldn't have lost the case. having a "policy" does not mean you can do whatever you want. There must be exceptions for certain cases when mistakes are made. and you need to have discernment to know the difference from when someone's abusing the system. but that requires competency (in your field and in life), humility, and good faith. when a customer has been wronged, the burden should never fall on them to figure out a resolution that works for the business. It should be the other way around. why do i even have to explain this. If I were in your position, I would be mortified to hear a customer had this experience. my priority would be to understand what would make the situation right for them and do everything reasonably possible to make that happen. I personally would have offered a refund AND an adjustment. But ironically, that means taking accountability... fortunately for all of us, u have proven it yourself that you have never been capable of this (just a quick search to see how you respond to every bad review on here and Google) and to assume premeditation/malice is a really disappointing take on this situation and makes zero sense. why or how on earth would i plan to have a bad haircut? but if that's what were doing, i can do the same.... maybe you offer blow-outs for plausible deniability on haircuts gone wrong? maybe i wasn't shown the back on purpose so i wouldn't notice? i agree there are no winners or losers here, because at the end of the day i'd rather have my hair than a refund. but because i was so polite throughout the situation, you took advantage and at the end basically shoo'd me away & expected no consequence. the last text message you sent me speaks for itself. even a stranger was upset for me. by the way... I reiterated my points via email, not to rehash anything, but to have it all in writing for the case :) i've attached photos of my original review from Google, KJ's response from Yelp, and Ariana's review as well because it tickles me and they threatened to take it dow.

A fellow named Ryan came by to grab something from the salon and told me I could wait inside. He told me my stylist would be there. Waited until 3:10, left a note and left, after turning off the lights and closing the door. I have since received an email from my stylist indicating she texted me that she would be late. I didn't receive the text and with my dinner plans, didn't have a choice but to run home and wash and style my own hair. I had such hope for this place........totally disappointing!!

You feel pampered when you walk through the door, and these hair stylists know what they're doing. All of the stylists have worked here for years, and they have various assistants and apprentices who are quick to get you water/Diet Coke/etc. My sister has been going to Andrea at Dyson for years (for hair extensions, short pixie cuts, bold reds, blonds, dark hair - you name it she's done it). Andrea is Awesome! I went to Andrea for some bright reds scattered throughout a dark brown over all color. We weren't 100% happy with the first shade of red (a little too pink) so Andrea did it again, seamlessly. She didn't make a big deal out of it, and she was sure I left the salon feeling like a million bucks. It was around $150, and worth every penny. I Love Becca! I scheduled a cut/color with Becca because Andrea was on maternity leave. Becca is freaking hilarious, and she is so so talented! I have extremely fine/lifeless hair, and the cut she gaves me adds volume and body to my hair. She also did a great dark to caramel ombre on my hair. A cut and color was $110. TL;DR: If you're looking for a new salon, go to Dyson.

Greg scheduled me last minute since I was leaving the mainland headed back to Hawaii in the next couple weeks. 2.) Greg is incredibly kind and funny, there was never any awkward silence. (You know how you run out of small talk and it just falls flat? None of that!) Not only is Greg that way but all of the stylists that I talked to were all so wonderful. 3.) My hair turned out AMAZING. I came in with some long, faded, brassy/blonde and wanted a color melt with white ends and a root shadow. Greg consulted with multiple stylists before deciding on a plan of attack and I'm happy to report that my hair is happy, healthy and beautiful! I'm definitely going to be returning to this studio when I move back to Utah.
