We threw their PoS mattress out after trying to make do with it for a month. 400+ dollars down the drain, or rather into the pocket of this shifty operation.

Upon entering you feel the slippage of time, creaky wooden floors, lots of nooks and crannies with old-timey looking products everywhere. Windsor is part of a dying breed, those old school hardware stores that have been put out of business by the big box monsters. But Windsor is still there and going strong, and more importantly leading the way in customer service. I know my way around a workbench and have been known to twist a wrench or two, but every one of the employees I dealt with was a pro. They knew their sh*t and never once swore. During what I like to call my "sister's shelf adventure" I was given several options and possible solutions to the problem, once chosen my solution was perfectly cut by the same fellow that had helped all the way through. When I got it home, it fit perfectly, the end result, happy sister. All because a hardware store employee knew what he was talking about and was happy to help. Take that Home Depot, you too Lowe's and don't get me started on Canadian Tire. Don't pass up the chance to visit and support this wonderful old hardware and lumber store, it's got some amazing products (check out the live wood shelving or all the weird novelty type hardware stuff). All that combined with a smart, fun and funny staff makes it easy to go to this hardware store, even if it's for your sister.

They offered to send us a white framed door with a discount delivered by end of week. We emailed back saying that our doors wouldn't be matching and that we would want a pair of matching doors with white frames and that they could take back the silver framed door. No further emails or calls from Windsor...and no door. On Tuesday, Feb 13th, Windsor called saying they would have the silver frame door ready and delivered by yesterday (Saturday Feb 17th). We called on Friday to confirm the delivery time as we wanted to make sure we were around on Saturday. However Windsor still didn't have the door. So no door as of today... Still....

I must invest, for my comfort and for my back/behind! I went and tried out various chairs in a local furniture store and settled on a particular brand and model that I enjoyed. But their asking price was absolutely bonkers! As it turns out... after some significant research, I can get it for a steep discount across the border. So I reached out to Chairlines who has a significant online presence, a location relatively close to the border (screw the shipping fees, I rather drive), and the make/model that I want. They were quick to reach back out (even when I missed the initial message, sorry Katya!), help create the custom order with the exact specs I wanted (beyond their website offering), and handle the arrangements. They said 6-8 weeks. To my surprise, I received an email 3 weeks later (a few days ago from this review) that my order was ready for pick-up! 3 hours later, I'm parked in front of the Langley branch of Chairlines trying to fit this huge chair in the back of my tiny car. Fortunately, one of the staff members (Mary, thanks!) helped wrestle the chair into my car like a oversized jigsaw puzzle. And now, I'm here... about to fall asleep feeling deep satisfaction over the whole journey. Thanks Mary!

It seemed like my options were to either buy a couple of cabinets and combine them, which wouldn't have looked great, or get a millwork built-in (where I was quoted more than $10,000 for!). I found the Wood Shop through Yelp, and am so glad I did! Chris was awesome to work with and was able to build something exactly the way I envisioned. We were able to go in and chat about the mock-up, as well as choose the exact stain and finishes throughout the piece. We love it and can't wait to work with the team again in the future!
