I have been to this location twice, and I am very happy to say I think I've found my new local nail salon. I usually get dip manicures, but have had 2 no chips, because I really wanted my cuticles cleaned up. Both times I have been in I have been greeted enthusiastically. They have a wide variety of colors for any service. Today I saw Irene, and her attention to detail is fantastic. The gal at the front desk did let me know Irene is deaf, but that she would be able to translate if I needed anything. Fortunately, I know enough ASL to spell, say please, thank you, yes, no, sorry, and beautiful. And honestly, I was really happy to not have to try to awkwardly make conversation, with 3 small kids at home I was happy to just sit quietly and enjoy my service. I have been in pursuit to find a new nail tech. I broke up with mine a few months ago and was in desperate need of one asap. Found Pro Nails on Yelp and it's located across the street from Gurnee Mills Mall. I called and I was able to get scheduled for a pedicure and a full set in the next 30 minutes which was great. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered. From the outside, the salon didn't look like much. But coming in it was vibrant and busy, and pretty spacious. Terri was the one assigned to me to do a pedi first. She did a great job on my pedicure. I just got the basic pedi with a no chip polish. Terri was very efficient and did a great job on my toes. Next - full set time. It's been a while since I got a set done, so I wanted something that was neutral. I showed Terri a picture of the ombré set I wanted and she did a good job. I usually judge a nail tech by their speed, the nail shape and how well they can file to precision, and how natural the nail looks after and whether or not it looks too thick. Terri did a great job with all of the above. My only critique is that she left some gel residue under the nail and also on my fingertips. I didn't notice until I got home and had to pick at them to clean them up afterwards. Overall I was happy with the service and will be coming back again. read more

Second time I was left unsatisfied with services rendered and will be my last. I paid $90.00 for their "signature" mani-pedi. I expect more!! Sloppy and poor work, which I noticed as I inspected more closely when I arrived home. First, she forgot to apply top coat on my pedicure. Second, she didn't even bother cleaning the nail polish smudges on the cuticles of my toes. Third, her UV light was not working and when I told her, she didn't believe me, touched the wet polish, and finally turned on the machine. Fourth, she again forgot to apply top coat on my left hand, which I noticed after I felt it was rough. Fifth, uneven application of polish and bubbles. Sixth, again, failed to remove the nail polish smudges of my fingers, cuticles. Owner apologized, said he would talk to her, and offered to redo the job. Came home for the holidays and needed to find a new salon while here so I gave this place a shot! Their scheduling system is so easy and seamless. You can schedule online with a specific technician for whichever services you want. I chose Tai because she got great reviews and am so happy with my decision. She was ready to take me right as I arrived. They didn't have the specific color I was looking for at first so she searched through to find me the closest match. She was really kind and patient even when I was being picky about small details. She made sure to ask if I was happy multiple times so she could fix my nails just how I wanted! The salon was renovated and moved into a bigger space so it looks super nice and clean. They are taking all of the COVID precautions including taking a temperature at the door, having hand sanitizer available everywhere, and making you wash your hands before your service. They even disinfect everything once you're done! I am really happy with how my nails turned out and will definitely be going back! read more

I went here for a full set Fri I asked if they could give me the set I showed them (in the photos). My nail tech was deaf so I couldn't really explain to her what I wanted so her daughter would translate. She's seemed to get frustrated b/c I didn't like what she was doing to my nails I wanted square shape etc like the picture. The rhinestones are falling off the next day. This was my first experience at this nail salon and FORTUNATELY this will be the last. I went to get a full set and a pedi. The lady asked me to take my temp and wash my hands. I allowed her to take my temperature and she told me to wash my hands and pointed to the back, as if I knew where to go Samantha told her not to point but show me exactly where. I sat down to get a spa pedicure that was 15 mins! No attention to relaxation! He didn't even ask me if I wanted to turn on the massage chair. No massage was given. He was manhandling my feet, very rough with my cuticles. I was reluctant to have him do my nails so I asked if he would be able to do what I was asking ( French tips) but he had to be redirected by other nail techs. I even had to tell Sam to to tell him stop being so rough with my hands while doing my full set which didn't matter he was still very Rough. My daughter told me her nails cost 77$ ( full set and take off) so once I realized how much they would be charging me I left without getting my nails polished. Because I refused to pay the prices they were charging for services That aren't normally that much at another spa. I will not be coming back! I went here because I received a small gift card a while back and thought to use it for the holidays. I ended up getting a signature pedi and no chip manicure. The technician charged me 85$ and less than a full week later my nails are chipped. When I got out of the salon I noticed some black speckles set into my nails and I found it even more odd that she filed my nail tips after the gel had been set. Poor experience and for the money spent, it was definitely not worth it. Save yourself and go elsewhere. read more

I am so happy! A friend sent me here because I was very unhappy with the full set of acrylic I had done at a different salon. The sign on the door said they do not accept walk ins at the moment due to Covid and to call to make an appointment. I was discouraged, but I was ok with waiting. On my way back to my car, the receptionist runs out after me asking if I needed an appointment. She had me come in and said she was able to accommodate me right then! They took my temperature, had me wash my hands and sat me at a station. The station was clean and sanitized. The whole salon was very clean. Social distancing was observed and there were acrylic shields between the techs and the customers. No worries about Covid here. The tech (Vandy) that sat down to do my nails was the tech that used to do my nails years ago. I had lost track of him and was so sad. Vandy was and is the best!! Always did an excellent job and my nails always looked great! He asked me why I didn't like the set I had on, and told me to let him know if he's doing anything I didn't like so he could fix it. I am a first time customer and had a very positive experience! I was running a few minutes late for my appointment coming from city traffic and called to let them know. They where very kind over the phone and assured me that they'll make it work. When I arrived the place was PACKED! Despite the chaos they where still very friendly yet efficient. It took Lynn (spelling?) only half hour to file down the ugly gel I had previously, reshape into almond, and finish. I unfortunately had a chip on my right thumb the next day, but they assured me they could fit me in for a fix ASAP. The work was impeccable and the price reasonable. Not impressed at all. Went here because was regular place was closed for a short amount of time for family reasons. I wanted to like this place as it's bigger and closer to me but I was definitely not impressed. First off you walk in and you're overwhelmed with all the color choices, I would recommend you arrive earlier then expected and talk time because there are A LOT of options. I was brought back to the pedicure chair which was a nice typical massage chair. The "technician" didn't speak to me or maybe didn't speak English it she put her head down and did her think. It's just an assembly of a business, one in and one out. They don't touch clauses unless you want to pay $10 more so $35 for a pedicure. The polish she put on didn't last long at all nothing like my regular place where it lasts 4-6 weeks without an issue. I wouldn't recommend this place definitely better places in the area. This is too big and it appears it's just an assembly line of workers with no added to touch for customers. Just not my style of business, I'll support a small business instead and stick with my place. read more

Love this place! Very clean, good quality, nice workers! I went with a group of girls for a bachelorette party. They had us all sit together and the girls giving the mani/pedis were so nice! The pedicure felt and looked amazing! So did the manicure. I'm very happy with the results, I would highly recommend going here! My nail polish did start to chip a few days after, but I didn't get no chip, so no complaints there. I wouldn't recommend getting without no chip especially if you work a job that uses your hands a lot that might chip the nail polish easily-- it's not very strong alone. All in all -- great experience and I will definitely be going back EDIT: I went back and got no chip nails for the first time. The experience was great as always and the people were nice, but my nails CHIPPED the next day! I'm tempted to call and ask for a refund or something. Very disappointed cause it was more pricey to get this done. Also not too happy with how they turned out, they look a little blotchy. It was 5 stars, but now only 4. Personally this was just an average experience. My friend and I decided to go to Pro Nails after looking around the area for nail salons. We didn't make appointments so for being walk-ins they sat us down very quickly (within 5 minutes of arriving.) My nail tech introduced himself and asked what I wanted to which I responded no-chip. The whole experience was very fast but when asked if he liked his job he said "yes I do I talk to people and i get money what's not to like" "sometimes i dont even know what I'm doing I'm just on auto like a car." It shows that he doesnt know what he was doing. My nails are uneven, the gel was not set properly by the lamp so my nails look cloudy and on my thump you can see the areas he missed with the topcoat. My friend and I were also charged different prices for the same exact no-chip gel. It was strange to say the least. If you want a place that's quick and you're in a rush this salon is perfect for you. If you want good quality work go elsewhere. read more

Wow. This was by far the worst pedi I have ever had. My BFF and I met in Gurnee for a girls day out and we decided to make reservations for pedicures after lunch. We noticed the nearest pedicure places were either in the Gurnee mall or nearby. We decided to try the nearby location. Big mistake. Our spa pedis lasted a total of only 15 minutes.. yes, 15 minutes from the time they sat us down to the time they sent us to the nail dryer and we certainly didn't get any kind of massage or relaxation vibe (the staples of a pedi). I felt like we were rushed through everything and they were very rough, which left us both sore and bloody. It was terrible! On top of that, it was $30 without tip. Don't waste your money here. They must play favorites if the positive reviews are only from ppl that go there a lot. Plus, while we were there, a woman came in (must have been a regular) because they were all "oh, it's so nice to see you again, here come with me. Oh we can make time for you..." ... I just paid $38 for the worst manicure I've ever had. I am going to have to soak this off. I did bring it to the girl's attention at the register she was great to bring me back to the girl to have her "fix it". As you can tell fixing it didn't really fix it. So disappointed. She seemed to rush through it, not doing a good job. She had a horrible attitude, and when she did speak it was quiet and mumbled. This just made the experience overall not that great. I'm sure if I had a different technician, I would have had a better job and experience. I will go back but make sure to avoid Jenny. I feel bad saying her name but want you all to get your money's worth. I also brought my own brand new essie polish and she put it back on the rack. A decent enough job, but very low quality and fairly unprofessional. My husband and I went here because we had time to kill in between appointments and the prices seemed reasonable. We both got manicures and pedicures. The pedicure chairs were also massage chairs, which was very nice. The tubs were also nice. My problem was with the girl I worked with. She spent the majority of the session texting her friends, which I didn't mind so much except she kept forgetting things as a result. Like she wasn't wearing gloves until she looked over and saw her coworker wearing them and used a lotion they shouldn't have on an exposed blister which made it sting quite a bit. The quality of clear coat they use is also pretty cheap. Mine has started to flake and crack not even a day later. You get what you pay for here. The location and amenities are nice but the girl wanted to focus on everything but her job. Not a great manicure or pedicure. Rating it lower because I found it to be unprofessional and my cuticles bled a little after. I've been a pretty regular client at this location and I've always had great work and left the salon happy. This past Friday wasn't it. The nail tech just didn't know what she was doing honestly . All my toes are shaped differently , the white nail polish is all around my toes and she tried to fix it with the nail file. Which mind you HURTS. She was ok with letting me leave with my toes looking so bad that I guess she didn't care about her work. I told the management that my toes looked bad, work wasn't good. I told them I wanted to come back and get them redone. They told me they didn't have any appointments available for the weekend which in my opinion they should've made sure to get me back in to get redone so I would be a returning client .
