I've been here twice for a regular pedicure because the reviews are high. But each time they've tried to force me to get no chip or gel, on my toes. And they always try to convince me to Not get French. Not to mention the sink area where I put my feet was dirty and they barley cleaned it before my service. The staff was nice and everything seemed clean I just didn't think the actual service was the best. I came in for a pedicure and it was given minimal effort. I know I had calluses because it was my first pedicure of the summer and I asked her to exfoliate those areas more and she told me no by saying she didn't need to because I take care of my feet which okay that's nice I do lotion them daily but I walked out with calluses feet... This place was highly requested by a friend and they didnt disappoint! Service on a Sunday morning was pretty fast and I was able to walk in and get a manicure right away. The gel was $40 and the workers were very helpful with assisting me in figuring out what color I wanted and a possible design. I just moved up to Illinois a year ago, and I have been looking for a place that has reasonable prices and can do good work when it comes to nails. I believe I found my place.!!! their establishment is very clean and very inviting. I love the music in the background. Everyone was very professional. I actually walked in on the hopes of getting my nails done right then and there, but they had no openings at the time the woman in the front was able to set up an appointment for later on that day, which was amazing. Ok basic mani/pedi for the classic services. Employees are not overly friendly or kind. Just engage in conversation amongst themselves. I brought my daughter along and they would not do nail art for her (on one nail) because she didn't get the no chip. Also, the timing of our scheduled appointments were off. They didn't start my services for about 20 min, so my young daughter was finished way before me and had to just sit by herself. Not a horrible experience, just something to make note of. They didn't seem concerned to keep us together being a mother/daughter "date". Whenever I asked a question they answered dryly. We weren't welcomed when we came in, and the staff seemed annoyed that it was our first visit. We weren't familiar with the salon, so we asked a few questions. Mani/pedi was $50, i picked a color that was apparently a $7 up charge too, but I don't know why and I didn't bother asking any more questions. I probably won't be visiting again, there are many options in this area. read more

I am SO surprised to the lack of service I received today possibly the reason being that the owner Tuya was not there. I made an appointment for gel manicure and regular pedicure for 1230. I arrived at 1219- No one greeted me until I picked out colors asking me for what service I was here for. She told me to sit in the last chair. I sat myself and placed my feet in the water and WAITED til 12:50pm til I decided to dry off my feet and leave. A nail tech said I'm coming over after the fact of me drying off my feet. Not once did she notify she was running late or she would be right with me AND during this whole time there were 2 techs in the back. I informed her I have waited patiently she did NOT apologize and walked back to the back of the salon. I have referred to you my grandparents (polish grandparents because you made them feel welcome with the language barrier), mother, sister and her boyfriend, two of my closer friends, and a coworker. ALL have been to your salon MORE than two times. I will inform them of today's experience and let them decide for themselves. read more

Had a classic manicure and pedicure. The color was very pretty the massage chair was great. But the service was not good. I had an older lady, and she took 23 min on my pedicure and 12 on my manicure. She seemed like she was over it, before we started. It was the fastest mani-pedi I have ever had. Not worth it for $50. I felt the service was rushed. Definitely not the pampering/spa experience I was hoping to spend my hard earn money on. What a horrible experience today. I've been going to Orchid Nails for two years and today had a new young girl for a tech that I've not seen there before. She was nasty and abrupt, and did not make for a feel good experience at all. My nails are uneven and they look like a child painted them. I decided to try this nail salon since my usual place was closed on Mondays. They told me $50 for a dip manicure when I called to make the appointment. During the appointment I could tell the nail tech was filing too close to the top of fingers because they were all cut up. When I was ready to pay she said it was $60 because they charge $10 extra to take off dip if I came from a different salon. They did not mention this on the phone or when I arrived to check in for my appointment. Not even a week after my appointment the whole top layer started chipping so I went back to get it fixed. Not even two weeks has passed and most of nails are chipping. I usually go 4-6 weeks with my nails without any issues. read more

I had a wonderful experience today at Orchid nail spa! They were one of the only places open around me the day after Christmas (and we had no wait even as walk-ins) so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! Prices were fair, facility was clean, employees were all very kind and helpful. Plus the attention to detail was impeccable. The no-chip manicure I got ($35 normally or $30 if you pay in cash) is the most clean and precise mani I have ever gotten. My tech triple checked each nail before she cured it and made to sure to ask if I was happy with shape, color, etc. every step of the way. She put on 3 healthy coats so that the beautiful rich color would come through (something other local salons skimp on) and finished with a wonderful massage & hot towel. All of the techs also do wonderful nail art that they were donning themselves or had displayed for $5 a nail. This salon prides itself in only using products that promote nail health so if you're looking for a full set of acrylics, keep looking. They do not provide acrylic services. The only other possible negative mark is that the interior had a very strong smoke scent (maybe incense or a candle or some other scented product). It didn't bother me and I got used to it, but if I had been asthmatic, that may have been a different story. I am THRILLED with my mani and as I went to leave, the lady working reception gave me a free hand mask gift. I would definitely recommend this place and will absolutely be returning! read more

I brought her in for a Pedi and French chip no chip manicure. Spent $110. The next day one of the nails peeled completely off. Went back to salon and a male was working and insisted that I pay for the repair. Pay for a repair?! Spent $110 on Thursday, nail peeled off Friday, repair on Saturday. 1) Why the discrepancy in repair services between both desk people? 2) Very disrespectful to a returning customer. read more

Today was my third time there and they charged me $10 more for the same service I received on my previous visits. When I asked why the higher amount I was told that she did a dry skin treatment ( used something like a pumice stone on my heels). I was not informed that there would be additional cost. I was also told that if I would pay with cash I would get amount reduced by $5. These are not good business practices (seemed like bait and switch) and I will not be going back. read more
