I cannot recommend Mark Clark and ProPowerRooter enough; he actually deserves more than 5 stars! We had a sewage line blockage and he came out on a Sunday night at 9 pm. Because of poor system design and being an older home, he ended up working all night. He stayed with the problem and kept trying different strategies and finally got the line cleared. I think most professionals would have given up. Again, it was a very poorly designed system and having no yard access to the line that caused it to be such a lengthy job. But he stayed with the job until it was cleared and working well. To say he went above and beyond a usual job, is an understatement! On 8/22/16 Mark came to my rental property after the hot water supply line to my washer failed and flooded my basement. It was his last job of the day after what Im sure was a long day. Bottom line: for any future drain/sewer issues, I'll be calling Mark at Pro Power Rooter. If you like all the dirty details, read on: The great: same day service by the owner, and it appears he does all or at least most of the work, so you know WHO will be coming and what to expect. He specializes in drain/sewer cleaning, so he doesn't have the incentive to upsell you more expensive unnecessary work! When i researched he has an A- BBB rating (the minus only due to length of time in operation). The good: made quick work of my kitchen sink problem. He was concerned about rolling dirty equipment through my carpeted areas. The meh: I didn't discuss prices at all until it was time to pay because it appeared to be pretty standard work and I wasn't concerned about it. I was charged $140 for cleaning the kitchen drain with a 100' 1/2" cable. I was told I would get a 10% discount because he had to change times on me which ended up being 14.2% and was actually charged $120. seems great, and I'm willing to bet this is cheaper than I would have got from, say, roto-rooter. (I never got as far as getting quotes from other places) So why is this in the meh section? I feel pricing is usually most people's main concern, particularly that you almost never know in advance what something will cost and you feel helpless because you know you can't do it yourself and it needs to be done. This is the best way businesses of this type could differentiate themselves. I found out later that the website quotes a price of sewer mainline cleaning by removing a toilet (which we had discussed due to my concerns about my main line, and he said that uses a different, i'll assume larger machine and clearly would be a much crappier job - both literally and figuratively) this price was $125? So, now I'm wondering if this was a situation where you get a "discount" but the price is raised to compensate? Then I also found a new customer discount which wasn't discussed (maybe that's the extra 4.2% discount i received?) . I also now see a yelp discount that I wasn't aware of... upsetting? not exactly. My judgement call here is none of this pricing questions were intentional. I think it's probably hard to handle all aspects of a business while also doing the actual work. It's not about the $30ish dollars, and if I missed out on discounts or even was given too high a price, I'll chalk that up as a tip on this job. But that's how you get that 5th star, because "as good as it gets" would be completely transparent pricing. Just to re-iterate , I'm guessing if you shop around this is still a very good deal, and if you found one for better, Mark will likely beat that price too. And at the end of the day you REALLY don't want someone to come tell you you need to unnecessarily replace your sewer main, which my situation would have been ripe for, but Mark said from the beginning that it didn't appear I had a sewer main problem. read more

When she called he texted right back and offered to come at 2 am , and charged us only $50 for the night emergency visit . Very impressed with the service I received!! We called on Good Friday (Friday night before Easter) at 4:15 so I knew our chances of getting service before everything closed was slim. I knew we'd probably end up with an "emergency" visit. I had tried one or two other companies before stumbling across this company on yelp (still have not heard back from the others...annoying). When I called pro power rooter I heard back within maybe twenty minutes or so and was told he could be at the house that evening. He came at 10:30pm in good spirits and repaired our clogged and leaking sink. I had some trouble with the sink two days later and he was happy to help me trouble shoot the problem over text. My husband ended up fixing the problem which was completely unrelated to the original problem. Overall really happy customer. The ratings for this company are well deserved. Mark is the man, definitely knows what he is talking about and listens to the customer. He told me about all his fees up front and got me scheduled right away and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in just over an hour and although I think the prices plumbers charge are outrageous I'm guessing he's more affordable. The only thing I didnt care for was the $45 upcharge(he said it's normally $75) just to go into the crawlspace even though the repair did not take place there. He said he worked with me on the pricing but with never really needing a plumber ever before this... I wouldnt know for sure. The only other thing I didnt care for was the 20% upcharge to use a credit card or check. Good thing I had some cash available. Other than that Mark was very professional and couteous and insisted his prices are cheaper than others. He definitely did a 1000% better job than the first plumber that came out before him. Avoid. Hired Mark to clear main sewer line. He repeatedly said, "we're going to clear the line to the sewer main, then camera it slowly all the way back so you can see it's clear." 3 visits & $900 later (cash--Mark likes to avoid the IRS), he still didn't do what he said he'd do. 1st visit charged for jetting & camera'ing the line, but said he needed to bring other camera b/c it had stronger line. 2nd visit re-charged for camera'ing line with "stronger" camera but said needed to be snaked. 3rd visit brought 150' snake to clear a root-ball 175' from clean-out. Failed (of course), then tried to tell me the root-ball we were looking at on the camera "wasn't a problem" & "shouldn't be disturbed b/c it would stimulate it to grow." Untrustworthy & unreliable (over an hour late to each apptmt). Recommend you find someone who won't cheat you & the taxman. read more

Please do not go thru what I have experienced. I needed a sewer clean with some roots that needed to be removed. Mark came "late " at night all 3 nights and actually did more damage to my daughters sewer. We had had a company scope it prior to him coming and everything was fine at the main clean out (no broken pipe). He was supposed to get the roots out and after 3 very expensive days of not sure what he was doing outside he also made us help him with the water turn on and off. Then he says he can't clean it all the way and leaves after 3 nights. I should have never paid him. Stupid me paid Cash as he said there was a discount for cash customers but he still has not given me a receipt. Who doesn't give receipts? Ones that are not paying taxes!!! So I had another company, an amazing reputable company come the next day and not only did Mark break my main pipe at the house but a whole new clean out had to come with it. $2400 later!!!! I am so frustrated and annoyed and cannot believe we were taken for almost $800 from him. I asked him nicely to refund me and have all the documentation from the other companies on what had happened while he was there. I wish he would do the right thing and give me my money back as he did more damage and cost me a whole lot more money. He should be accommodating to me and be fair as all he kept telling my son in law is that he has millions and will be retiring soon. Seriously? Strange conversation. WARNING!!! I had a clogged drain and needed assistance so I called Pro Power Rooter and he was over 2 hours late 9p.m /: I told him my drain could have rocks or something in it and that I wanted a camera put down the drain but he instead instead in grinding the shit out of my drain and not getting anywhere and said he would be back tomorrow night @ 7p.m and to my surprise he didn't get to my place till 10:30 p.m WOW.. Again he started grinding the shit out of my drain getting no where. He used a big snake and a air pump that raised my mud pan busting the pipe. then did he insist in using his broken camera that cut in and out. he broke my pipe fixed nothing and walked away with over $350 WOW. He was only happy to be paid for shit work and broken CAMERAS/PIPES but he loved bragging about being the best and how he would fix this problem in no time. He said if I paid cash it is cheaper but he cant give a receipt and if you want a receipt it will cost more. I should not have had to pay $350 for NOTHING! He had to borrow my SHOP VAC, HOUSE TOWELS and my AIR COMPRESSOR to pressurize his hand pump because he was too lazy to hand pump it. CONCLUSION: SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more
